"Well fuck. Who wants to jump first?" Eve kicked a rock and watched it smash apart on a ledge halfway down. She case about for another solution. The plant lady would come in handy right now. Where was she? Eve looked back at the woods, then at the sky, inspiration striking that the flying animals she had seen could be wrangled. Instead, she saw another, slightly less volatile way down. "Huntsman! Get down here and be a parachute!"
There was a long sigh as the abomination spiraled from the sky, landing before them with massive wings resting on the ground. She flicked her hood back to reveal an angular female face with red tendrils in place of hair. "Hello, Eve. I was just waiting to see if you'd try jumping." Her face made it clear that she thought it was a very real possibility. "Stop wasting time and introduce me to your friend so you guys can fly us down." Eve jerked her chin to the hovering Matt. "Yeah, yeah. Matt, get down here. Some people can't be bothered to grow wings."
Dan released Chase's hands when he saw the flames gathering to them. He was interested in where this was going. He stepped back and took a calm look at the building flames. Even when the world became flames, his face was calm up to the moment he was engulfed. To Marceline it felt like an eternity of fire. She cowered away from the flames, fearing their touch. She remembered the last time Chase had lit a room ablaze and was in no hurry to feel that again.
She breathed a small sigh when the flames finally dimmed and on stone heated red, she saw Dan. His skin was the red of a sunburn, his armor cracked and seared. He waved away the steam peeling from his body and smiled. "Thanks." He took a step forward and Marceline noticed it had put him back. "I was beginning to worry nobody could hurt me." Then there was an eruption of sound as he broke the sound barrier and was right in front of Chase, only an impression on the ground where he was before. He launched a close range uppercut for Chase's chin, something was well accustomed to normally but now with the force to take most people's heads clean off.

Matt landed and in a flash of green, the large and skinny insect-like creature became a human wrapped in a jacket again. "Matthew Anderson, at your service." He bowed. "But you can call me Matt. You say you need a way down? Do you think a giant fiery bird would attract too much unwanted attention?"

As Aria ran toward the diner, she couldn't help but sense a certain familiar presence nearby. Slowing down to a stop, Aria looks over to see a familiar green-haired girl perched up in a tree nearby, looking over at the pit that the rest of the group was coming up with ideas to get down to. "You know...we could use your help down there." Aria says to Cadence, who merely looks back at the HWIC president with a blank look on her face. "...I have no investment in this...why should I help...?" Nodding her head, Aria commands a branch from a nearby tree to extend out, bending it around with her powers. "I think we both know that we are linked somehow. Our names, powers, deductive skills...even the look in your eyes is similar to mine. If you help us out, I am sure we could discuss more in detail topics in the future. How about...freedom?"
Minutes later, a trail of vines extended out toward the sinkhole in the ground, creating a perfect method for people to grab on and slide down into their destination. Both Aria and Cadence sat on small wooden branches near the ground, Aria stepping off when she joined the group. "For those of you who can't fly, my associate and I can lower you down on these vines of ours. Don't worry, there would be no risk of falling off of these." Noticing that a few new people joined the group, Aria completely ignores Huntsman and turns her attention to Matt. "Pleasure to meet you. Aria Miyata, president of the HWIC." She flashes her badge at Matt to verify her credentials, then puts it away once more. Haruko laughed a little at Crow's earlier comment about vampires, and sat on one of the vines that were hovering just above the ground. "I'll ride with these two. Does anyone else need a ride?"

“So that’s The Devil, huh?” muttered Arlana, standing at Sun’s side as both of them stared at the duel. Even that far away, Arlana recognized the blond guy from the battle inside the dinner. Just the memory of the way he cut through the lines of the creatures, leaving just pieces of bloody flesh behind him, froze the girl’s blood. She hid behind the “wall” she had made around her heart to stop herself for fainting again and tried to focus only on the titanic fight she was witnessing.
If what Sun said was true, the other fighter was the Devil. “I was expecting something like a huge horned demon with a pitchfork, not a half-naked guy and an army of grasshoppers” she joked. “And what did you think I would be? A flaming ball of gas?” snorted Sun, immediately regretting his choice of words. Arlana stared at his friend with a smile dancing on her eyes “Oh Sun, you’re just doing this too easy for me, you big ball of far… Auch!” Arlana jumped forward, rubbing the backside of her jeans where Sun had head-butted her. She was about to retaliate when Chase unleashed an impossible pillar of flames that left a scorched scar through the forest, destroying everything at its path in a whirlwind of burning death. Just what the pair needed to get their attention back where it should have been.
“Come on, Lana” Sun said, turning suddenly serious. The red haired girl hesitated for a moment, with her eyes fixed on the dead tunnel Chase had left with just one simple punch. She had to make an enormous effort to bury the little voice on her head that told her to run away before finally turning around and following his friend back to the place where Kusuri and Shinshi rested. There Sun stood on top of a rock and waited for Arlana to sit.
“This would be way easier if that bookworm was around to explain, but sooooome one just had to forget his card before leaving, right?” the bird started and Arlana moved uncomfortably under Sun’s judgmental glare. “So know you’re stuck with me, so don’t com bitching if you don’t understand something”. Sun sighed and used a minute to get his thoughts in order. “First of all, you have to understand where does the power, your magic, comes from. The last time I was around all wizards, mages, warlocks, witches and whatever the hell they were had something in common. I don’t know shit of how the world works now, though…” he added, glancing at the unconscious Mahouseki warrior and her furry knight out the corner of his eye “The source of their magical power resided inside of them. It was a tiny bit of magic, a semi useless freckle of power. With just one small detail. It gave them the ability to manipulate the energy of everything around them. Think of them like… glorified cooks or something like that. Magical users could take a bit of energy from everything around them; trees, rocks, air or even people and animals as ingredients for whatever the hell they wanted to do, mixed it inside of them and “cook” it into other things. So the most powerful mages weren’t the ones that had the biggest magical power inside of them, but the ones that could gather and manipulate the biggest amount of magic without breaking into pieces. The Minor Arcana works like that. You just gather enough energy and poured into the card to summon it and that’s why any moron can summon the lesser cards.” Arlana raised her eyebrow “Gee, thanks. You really now how boost my selfsteem” she mordantly replied. “Don’t mention it”.
“Anyway…” Sun continued, ignoring Arlana’s particularly offensive hand sign “the magic of the Mayor Arcana is not that simple. We aren’t a mindless tool like the Swords or Pentacles. If you tried to make me dance like your pretty little puppet I would burn you into a crispy bag of cooked fat” the bird seemed disgusted when at the idea “We are alive. Each and every one of Us is. We aren’t just a puppet you can use whenever you want or a weapon at your disposal to destroy your enemies or conquer countries. If you want to fuse with me, just filling the card with energy is not enough. You have to open the door of your magical center and share everything you are with me, the same way I’ll have to. Your happiness, your dreams, your nightmares and your sorrows. You must let me get in here” Sun gently tapped the girl’s chest with his beak, just over her heart. “Or the next time, that explosion might not just kill some trees”.
Arlana gulped, trying to understand everything that her friend had just said. If all it took was to ‘open her heart’, why did she just failed to summon him? What was holding her back? The girl was deep in her musings when Sun spoke again. “Well, that’s with me at least. If we ever find one of the gals like Star, it would be a whole different story. And you have never summon the Knight or King even once, it’s no surprise you sucked so much the first time”. That took Arlana’s attention away from her grim thoughts “Hey, what’s so different about those cards? You told me that I could fuse with those two before but summon the Princess and Queen, but you never told me why.”
Sun seemed surprise with that question. Truth to be told, he was visible troubled by it. “Well… ehm…” he mumbled, trying to avoid the question under Arlana’s inquisitive stare. Finally he sighed “It depends… you know! On whatever team you’re playing for!”. “Hm?” Arlana leaned her head to the side and the subtext missed her for miles “I don’t understand what the hell you… oh!” Arlana exclaimed when she finally got it and much to her regret, she ended up blushing and both friends looked away. An awkward silence filled the space between them, only broken by the explosions of the distant fight. Finally, Arlana pinched the bridge of her nose “Goddamit Sun, you’re as delicate as a flatulent elephant in a symphonic concert, you know?” “Well! Next time don’t go asking such stupid things without warning, you idiot!” Sun roared, his flames dyed in a blushing red. Hopefully for both, a deep and smooth voice save them from that awkward scene.
The tall and distinguished man that had entered the dinner with Chase, Marvel Smith, walked through the black and burnt grass towards the pair. With a formal and vast vocabulary, he pointed towards the forest and told them about a quick way of getting the hell out of there. For a moment, Arlana felt compelled to follow the man’s suggestion. It would be really easy to get as far away from there as possible. In just a couple of hours she could be sleeping in her own bed, in that tiny apartment, ready to get up and get scolded by her manager for taking such an ‘unexpected’ vacation. It would be just as easy as forgetting everything she lost, everything she promised.
“I’m sorry, I can’t do that” Arlana sighed. “I still have something to do here and I can’t just walk away from it. Besides, I’m guessing we can’t leave that guy to run around freely. Morepeople would get hurt.” she pointed at the Avatar of the Primal Roar. Despite trying to sound as confident as she could, the girl was scared lifeless and only the promise the promise she had made let her go forward. Well, that and one other thing “At least, if I die here I won’t die alone, right Sun?” She smiled weakly over her shoulder and to her surprise, Sun sincerely answered with wide smile. “You’re fucking right!” he exclaimed, jumping to her shoulder. “We haven’t seen that pirate-cookie monster you are talking about, pal” Sun replied after Chase asked about Marceline. “But if you’re running away get those two out of here” he gestured towards the unconscious Kusuri and Shinshi “We’re going back towards the dinner, so we’ll try to find that chick for you”

It doesn't take a genius to figure out that these two are determine to be here, but they clearly misunderstood his intentions. "I can't transport them away from here." he said in a rather straightforward tone. "I'm not evacuating the mission. Rather, I'm continuing my assignment. In that direction-" he said while pointing once again where the others are located," the HWIC received coordinates earlier from Dan himself. Currently, we are unaware of the significance of the location. Even with Dan being easily within reach of our position, we shouldn't just assume he is the only major threat. In fact, it is extremely possible that a danger exists at the coordinates that requires our immediate attention. I would appreciate assistance, however; I recognize the resolve and valor in both of your faces. If you are planning to engage, I have a simple request." Smith takes a moment before he asks Arlana and Sun, "If you two spot Marceline, make sure she doesn't over do it. She is strong, yet her strength is centered around pushing herself. And I'm afraid she might push herself too far in this battle."
He prepares to walk away, yet before he does he quickly informs them, "An HWIC evac unit should arrive soon to remove the civilians and take them somewhere safe." He begins to walk towards the coordinates.
“What the…” Chase stands utterly shocked by the lack of damage his last attack seem to had on the avatar. Before he could process another thought, his opponent is already launching an uppercut right towards his chin. Struggling to move his head out of the way, Dan’s strike momentarily lands on his chin. The mighty blow begins to crack the bones in his jaw, blood and teeth hurl out of his mouth in a gruesome spray. Yet, even with the lower portions of his skrull being destroyed, he manages to sway his head backwards and adjust his chin away from the punch, allowing his head to avoid the majority of the force. Still, the uppercut continues to gaze the side of his face. As the destructive punch slides across his face, skin is violently torn off by the brief and light contact of Dan’s simple technique. The soulless man barely steps back in time to avert the removal of his ear.
As soon as the punch is no longer harming his body, he begins to heal the damage he receive a split second ago with the aid of his spirit energy improving his own natural healing factor to supernatural levels. By the time he prepares to counterattack his opponent with his own strike, his face reverts back to normal. Even his gums seem to have regrown a new set of teeth. He was bought time by Dan looking at his bloodied knuckles in shock. He wasn’t aware of the force his fists now carried. Did he cause that much harm to the woman? He leaned to look, but Chase releases his weapon back into sword form and swing the blade at Dan’s neck. During mid-swing, the sword coats itself in a layer of incredible blaze. Reaching temperatures that could melt iron and steel, along with the force of the blade easily contain enough cutting power to slice a heavily reinforced armor tank in half.
Dan’s eyes widened and he ducked aside, letting the blade cleave through air, imparting enough power to carve through the softened rock of the cave behind him with air pressure alone. Before he could gather himself, another was launched and her rolled under. Slash after slash cut the air, just fast and strong enough Dan was kept on his toes. He kept moving to the side until he and Chase were parallel to the pink woman. There we go. He darted forth and swung his hand in a backhanded slap, bashing Chase down the tunnel like he was waving away a fly. Chase out of the way, he turned to examine Marceline. She was as broken as he feared, standing crooked with bones sticking through greyed flesh. But not a drop of blood. Just what was she? Curious, he closed in. He ignored the punch she threw until it met his abdomen head on. After all, what could somebody with more broken bones than intact ones do to him? He learned just what when he was holding his bruised stomach not far from Chase, chunks of crushed armor falling away. Where was this power before? “Hey, your friend’s fun too.” He remarked to Chase.
“She has her moments.” replied Chase with a smile before he unleashes another barrage of slashes at Dan. With every swing, his sword becomes slightly faster, more powerful, and the heat of his metal burns brighter and hotter with each passing second. Before long, numerous afterimages of his sword techniques appear all around Chase and Dan; however, the avatar continues to evade with impressive agility. “Again with this? Fine, I like this dance.” The only thing that he is damaging is the tunnel’s already scorch walls, indicated by the rapidly growing number of large cut marks all around them. As the air pressure of his sword slices away at the glowing red walls, pieces of melting rocks begin to rain all over them, yet before the rocks could hit the ground, Kagutsuchi (the name of Chase’s sword) would absorb the lingering heat energy of the broken rubble and add the energy to the blade’s own layer of flames.
The second barrage ended when Dan stepped past Chase’s range and grabbed the blade from the side with a grip intended to avoid touching the edges. He swung his arm to slam Chase into a wall and stepped away. While struggling to free his blade via brute force, the soulless man decides to command his weapon back into a pen at the same time ducking Dan’s strike by making a deeper stance and lowering his head to his chest. As his arm passes over his head, barely a few centimeters from touching his blond hair, his pen returns back to its original form. Chase quickly twists his body as he thrusts his weapon towards his opponents expose stomach. As the tip of his sword reaches Dan, the peak of the weapon’s edge begins to emit a single, but intense spark of condense heat on the skin of the metal. The speed of the blade causes that small escaping flames of the tip to quickly grow into an inferno of fire. Making it appear as if Chase is about to hit Dan with a flamethrower. However, the flames around the blade could not compare to the sheer burning center at the tip of the blade attempting to stab through the avatar.
Dan was taken by surprise enough by Chase’s trick that he was left staggering, grasping for a pen, when Chase’s blade met his body. The searing blade actually penetrated, but only shallowly before the searing metal had to widen and it stopped in his indestructible flesh. “Agh…” He gurgled, feeling pain not just greater than he had felt in months but some of the worst he had ever felt. Searing metal in his body was about as unpleasant as he would imagine. He snarled and threw a palm thrust, launching a dozen small blasts to blow Chase away.
The force of Dan’s strike launches Chase further down the tunnel. After rolling on the ground a few times, he swiftly gets back on his feet with a quick push off the floor with his non-sword wielding hand. The previous attack has ruin a good portion of his chestplate, along with causing some minor facial damage, such as a broken nose and jaw. But such injuries are quickly healed by his enhanced regeneration abilities. Still, he knew that he couldn’t afford to continue to heal himself all day long due to the accelerated healing process taxing his spirit energy way too much. Yet, with his last attack being so inefficient, he starts to realize that he might end up having to use his Soul Overdrive. Still, he won’t result to such an extreme move until he is certain that there is no other way.
Preparing to launch another attack, Chase holds his sword above his head He-man style as the weapon begins to absorb the remaining heat energy in the tunnel, transforming the gathering energy into spirit energy to fuel himself. He knew in this fight he isn’t going to be able to let any opportunity to get spirit energy slip past him. As the blood collects the lingering heat energy of their surroundings, Kagutsuchi’s edge starts to turn bright red, yet no flames has are being release by the sword. The area around Chase’s doesn’t even become hotter, in fact, the space around them starts to become colder and colder. The weapon’s metal continues to change into a fiercer shade of red as its wielder remains standing in place and waits for his opponent to come to him.

"What took you so long?" Eve asked as the plants beneath her feet moved on their own, an elaborate elevator of grass beginning to form. She sat on the vine with Haruko and bounced a little to test its hold. A mild creak told her it was strong. "Alright, this will do." She settled in, getting a good grip on the seat below her.
Huntsman just turned away and walked off the edge. Eve looked over to see her gliding down, drawing the attention of one or two flying creatures. "Everybody be ready in case those things get mad, alright?" Eve cautioned, readying her cannon.
Dan felt the chill in the air. This was something big. He glanced at Marceline to see if she was planning anything, but she seemed to grow slower as the air chilled. He turned away and walked slowly towards Chase. Each step, he kept his eyes locked on the glowing blade. It might be time to finish this and regroup. It looked like this was the best this man could do.
Chase slowly tightens the handle of his blade as Dan approaches. Doing his best to keep control of himself. After all, one mistake here and he could get killed. Yet, he was also a bit concern about Marceline. She didn’t seem to be moving much. How severe are her injuries? Still, with her directly behind Dan, she is in the way of him trying to pull off a big explosion, or massive attack. Instead he will attack with precision, potency, and speed
His blade continues to charge and condense the increasing heat of the metal further along the blade’s edge. Gradually the base begins to revert back to normal coloration, yet the middle and top of the weapon’s already crimson taint transforms into an even heavier tenebrous hue. The once scarlet glow now luminates less light, while the features of Chase’s face start to hide behind a veil of shadows. Just a bit closer now...
Dan huffed and vanished, reappearing right before Chase. "Any attack that takes you that long to do is useless." He ripped the sword out of the blond warrior's hands and half sworded it to slam its pommel into Chase's nose. "As for you-" He spun to deflect Marceline's arm, coming for his back a second before. "I'm really sorry, but I should put you out of your misery." He raised his other hand and began gathering his aura into it.

“Yeah, we’re gonna find her” Sun replied at Smith’s back as the billionaire walked towards the coordinates “Right after we beat the shit out of that guy”. The pair watched him for a bit before turning around to face their current, and dangerous, destination. “I’ll guess we’re headed that way, then” Arlana gulped. Even though she almost didn’t understand a single word Smith had said (Who was that Dan guy? And what the hell was the HWIC?), she did understand the kind of danger she was about to get herself into.
Sun spread his wings and flew off her shoulder “Give me a second” he asked. The bird circled over Kusuri and Shinshi’s bodies and left a golden trail of flames behind him. The golden fire descended just a few inched over the ground and left the Mahouseki warrior and his pet inside of it, warming and protecting them.
Arlana waited for his friend with an ironic stare, which followed him all the way to her shoulder. “What?” he asked defensively “I might be a prick, but I’m not evil! Besides, I’ve still got a bone to pick with that fucking fur ball. I don’t want a wolf to steal the pleasure of ripping him apart”. Arlana giggled at how offended his friend seemed and stared at what was left of the dinner. She could feel the cold fingers of fear around her belly, ready to squeeze her strength out of her. “Are you ready?” Sun asked. “How the hell can I be ready for this?” she replied. With a deep breathe to calm her wild nerves, the girl took the first step forward and felt how the knot on her stomach got a little loose. After all the first step was the hardest, right?
Like hell it was. Each step she took towards the fight was harder than the next. Each time her battered snickers touched the muddy soil turned one of those fingers on her stomach into a sharp and cruel claw that dug deeper and deeper inside her. Each roar of Chase swings or the Avatar’s grunts made her tremble more than the freezing winters of Siberia, which were even worse now that she had left her jacket on Kusuri. However, the girl kept moving forward. Cursing with every step and shaking worse than a newborn deer, but moving forward. “Oh hey, Lana” an annoyingly high pitched voice escaped through her crackling teeth “how was your day? Oh, the usual. I spent all my savings to go the fricking Siberia to hunt for a magical card, got lost in the woods the second I got here, probably going to lose my toes because of the cold, walked in the middle of some Hidden World crap, saw a dinner explode, almost burned myself to death with my own powers and now I’m walking to my certain death at the side of a flaming badmouthed bird. Regular day of any seventeen year old” “Don’t forget about almost getting raped by tentacle monsters” Sun added. The poisonous glare Arlana offered him was enough to force him to close his beak.
They walked in silence for some minutes that seemed like ages for the grumpy and terrified Arlana, until Sun interrupted it. “Lana, can you hear that?” his serious tone caught his friend attention immediately. Arlana squinted her eyes, trying to distinguish something between the bright flames and the incandesent beams of lights that came from the dinner. The Tarot apprentice could hear the roar of the flames and the high pitched noise of a sword cutting the air. The where like small glimpses of the intense fight and by the looks of it, the guy with the Devil was beating the hell up his opponent. “T-they need our help” Arlana gulped, painfully conscious of the cold sweat that covered her body even at that distance from the flames “Right now”. Sun shook his head and clicked his tongue “That won´t do” he said “You’ll need some time to gather enough magic to summon me”. “I can’t just stand here watching them get their ass kicked!” Arlana exclaimed as she went frantically through her deck “And It’s not like I can do both things at the same time, right?” Sun jumped to her shoulder “Then get some help, idiot” he murmured, stopping Arlana’s shuffle with his beak and showing her a card.
The girl didn’t waste a second. Taking a wild curl of her crimson hair off her eyes, she grabbed the card and took her against her forehead to concentrate. As the girl started to feel the now familiar sensation of the magic flowing through her body, Sun couldn’t help but to feel fascinated by how much Shinshi’s power had helped Arlana. Even if she was just a newbie in the Tarot Magic and was scared shitless, as she prepared to summon the card Sun could imagine her becoming a strong mage with the right training. That it, until she messed up the summoning chant and had to start over… twice.
After a couple of fail attempts, she was finally able to pronounce the right words. “Possession of the Merchants, body of Earth! I call upon you, Queen of Pentacles!” she chanted as the card shone with a bright and yellowish light. When Arlana threw it, it fell unceremoniously to the ground in front of her. “What the…” she muttered and had to shot her mouth when the earth beneath her feet suddenly gave up, forcing her to jump backwards.
Under the girl’s surprised stare (and Sun’s completely uninterested one), the muddy soil and grass shifted towards the glowing card and as it passed through it, formed a tall and proud statue made entirely out of earth. The figure represented a rough and heavy armor, made for a feminine body as shown by the slight curves on its hips and chest. All its edges were blunt and its coarse look made it seem as if it was carved “… out the face of a mountain” Arlana whispered, getting closer to the strange statue. “Hm?” “This statue… it’s exactly as I imagined it would be” Arlana replied as her fingers reached for the irregular surface. “Well, yeah. Its other thing that differentiate us from them” explained Sun “We of the Mayor Arcana are living things. They aren’t, they are just product of your imagination. That’s why Steven Spielberg should sue you if he saw the Chalices and why it looks like that, that’s how you think the Queen of Pentacles should look like”. “Hm… that’s weird, I pictured it more metallic than eart…” As if it was waiting for her to say that, the statue cracked and the dirt exploded and disappeared in a cloud of dust. Beneath it, the Queen of Pentacles revealed its true form. The muddy earth was replaced with an opaque ocher metal, crossed by dozens of pentacles that joined and intertwined together in a complex pattern. The strong yet beautiful features of an amazon were drawn in the mask that replaced the empty space in the helmet where a face should be. Only the hollow sockets of its eyes and the small space between the joints revealed that the armor was completely empty on the inside. A strange light, the color of wet sand, beat through the Pentacle patterns and the immobile statue suddenly feel to her knees in front of Arlana, like a knight awaiting orders from his king.
The girl, embarrassed by the sole idea of something that looked so proud and mighty bowing down to her, crouched and hesitated for a second before putting her hand on the armor’s shoulders. “C-come on, don’t do that!” she said “You’re embarrassing me!” The girl’s flustering was received by a stare of disapproval from Sun, whose despise against the Minor Arcana was getting more and more evident. “Come on, stand up!” Arlana begged and the Queen suddenly jumped to her feet and almost made Arlana fall butt first.
“Tell it what I has to do and let’s do what we are here for!” barked Sun. Arlana glared at him before turning to the seemingly lifeless armor. “So… ehm…” Arlana mumbled with a weak voice “Would you pleeeeease get down there and stop that guy from hurting those two?” The answer was even faster that she could ever imagined, even though how vague her explanation was. The massive armor bowed its helmet slightly and dashed to fulfill its master’s orders. At first, Arlana thought it was just running towards Dan and Chase but a couple of seconds later she realized what was happening. Each suit of the Minor Arcana grant some kind of control over an element and in the case of Pentacles, it was earth. Although it seemed as if the Queen was doing the motion of running, the truth was that it was actually sliding through the mud that was left after so many explosions melted the snow that covered the town. Using the slippery surface to its advantage, the automat gained speed with every meter it slide through and, under Arlana’s amazed stare, the armor of Pentacles dashed straight through an entire house without even noticing it. As it reached the dinner, the amor jumped and dove head first into the flaming tunnel.
Inside, the Avatar of the Primal Roar was about to unleash the finishing blow against Marceline when 550 pounds of pure metal and magic broke through the flames at a breathe taking speed, aiming like an arrow towards him. The Queen of Pentacles was following her master’s orders and wasn’t aiming to hurt the Avatar, just simply crash into him and hopefully get him away from Chase and Marceline. A few hundred meters away, Arlana turned towards Sun grasping his card firmly between her fingers. “Ok… let’s do this!”

"I suppose that means you don't need a lift down." Matt said. "In that case, at least let me be the bodyguard." He shone with an expanding green light that disappeared to reveal a giant fiery bird. Everyone could've fit on Phens's legs, the only part of his body not set on fire and which seemingly had a field around it protecting it from the heat of its body. He flew near the plant lift but far enough not the set the plants on fire. Matt hoped that a giant fireird would be enough of a deterant to keep the creatures away and if they did get hostile he hoped that they would go after the firebird first.

The appearance of Matt's firebird form made both Aria and Cadence move their plants away from him, but luckily, it appeared as if his legs weren't going to catch their plants on fire. After spotting the two flying creatures, Aria motioned to them while looking at Cadence. "Those creatures down there are going to be a problem. You focus on lowering us down there as quick and safe as possible, while I help keep them away. Understood?" She asks, getting a small nod from Cadence.
Once everyone was in their seats, Cadence grows a small vine seat belt around each person's chest to keep them there in case they were attacked, and began to lower them down to their destination. Meanwhile, Aria stood on top of a plant platform she created, lowering herself down with everyone else...but having both of her pistols trained on the two flying creatures in case they decided to attack them and not Matt or Huntsman. The bullets inside were of the shock variety, meant to overload the target's nervous system and send it falling to the ground in a paralyzed state.
Sitting on one of Cadence's platforms, Haruko reached into her coat and took out 5 of her explosive knives, training her eyes on the potential enemies just in case they got too close. "I don't like the look of these things..." The seamstress remarks.

Smith looks back to witness Arlana and her familiar go to engage Dan. Without a change in his facial expression, he turns his attention back to his destination. Though his face doesn't reveal his reaction, in the inside of his mind he hopes that the girl and her constantly burning animal companion proof to be a helpful asset with the battle against Dan. She has already proven herself useful so far, yet he is a bit concern with her skill of controlling her abilities, similar to Chase's current condition. But at the same time, while he watched her move forward to battle, he couldn't help but notice a positive change in her self-confidence by reading her body language, even though it is such a minor change. So much so that he doubts that even she is aware of it. Perhaps that is the sign that she more control now. And the only way he figures that could have happened is if the magical girl had helped her with her powers like she did earlier with Chase. -Now hopefully the two of them don't accidently take each other out and the rest of the team- he thought. Still, he couldn't do anything to help manage their own control over their abilities. All he could is meet up with the others at the coordinates and he'll take it from there.

Dan was taken off guard by the sudden intrusion of what he mistook for an armored woman. He was shoved roughly down the hallway before he dropped Marceline unceremoniously and locked arms with the armor, cracking the ground as he planted his feet. He grinned, thrilled with this turn of events. She wasn’t his match, but she was enough to interest him. Equally interesting was the way the tunnel was changing as they went along. It was far wider than when it started and strange white threads started crisscrossing the ground, digging into the rock. Tiny white creatures crawled among them, making tiny chirps with air sacks on their backs.
A few moments before the metal lady slams into Dan...
Chase’s nose breaks under the force of his own weapon, he begins to drops face first to the floor. But before he could even hit the ground, he could sense that the energy gathered on his blade to no longer be concentrating along the blade’s edge. -OH SHIT!- Quickly pushing off the floor with his legs and willpower, he stands straight up as blood pours from his nose. After preventing himself from falling onto the floor, he looks up to spot his sword. Due to his incredible reflexes, he could perceive the incoming metal lady coming down from the side to slam into Dan. Yet, he didn’t care about the lady. His eyes focus on his blade. Before the lady could strike Dan, he shots his hand forward, and commands his sword to revert back to its pen form. Once in pen form, a ball of flickering reddish light surrounds the object. -HURRY UP!- As soon as it is in its pen shape, he pulls on his disguise weapon via their soul link connection. Similar to a certain Marvel hammer, Kagutsuchi flies through the air and returns to Chase’s hand a split second before the Avatar and the The Queen of Pentacle go further down the tunnel.
As soon as the pen touches his palm, he could tell that the energy he has been gathering is about to expand outwards, and it is already too late to spot the inevitable fireball that is soon to explode. The amount of flames that will soon be unleashed will make his stunt at the diner look like a campfire in comparison. At best, he has a second to decide what to do. He turns his head and witnesses Marceline slowly falling in the air after Dan dropped her.. -FUCK!!! WHY DID YOU HAVE TO COME DOWN HERE!!!- He gathers a huge amount of spirit energy around the balls of his feet, and rushes down the tunnel at supersonic speeds. He reaches Marceline while she remains off the ground, and swiftly grabs and throws her further away from the Dan. As she is flung up the tunnel, he turns his attention to his opponent. He didn’t care about the metal lady, therefore he won’t feel bad if it can’t survive this next part.
He dashes towards the Avatar. The ball of light surrounding his pen begins to illuminate brighter and flicker faster. By the time he arrives at Dan’s position, the energy within the pen is set to detonate. “This fast enough for you?” He throws a punch at Dan with Kagutsuchi in hand. Dan looked down, derision in his eyes, just in time for the blast to come forth. First comes the shockwave of the blast, which immediately rips his armor apart. Had it not been for his armor, Chase would have been utterly destroyed instead. The powerful force pushes against the tunnel’s interior, destroying the earthly material in its path. From the outside, it might even seem that the particular section of the tunnel that they are inside suddenly expanded and transform the structure from just a tunnel, to include a massive sphere shape room for nearly fifty meters in all directions from the epicenter of the explosion. As the combustion occurs, the soulless man uses his control over the flames to limit the size of the explosion to the immediate area. What would have been a half a kilometer firestorm has been transform to just a few dozen meter fireball with the flames reaching an unbelievable level of calidity, almost twice that of lighting.
Now, Chase has a heavy resistance to flames, but even he couldn’t withstand the heat. The skin on his body quickly burns off, and his body is forced to use an immense supply of spirit energy to replace his burned skin with fresh skin cells. And as the new skin is burned off, it is replace with a even newer skin. The process occurs over and over again as the fireball continues to go off. The cost of limiting the area has cause the flames to extravasate repeatedly within the restricted zone that Chase created to curb the the magnitude of the explosion. At the same time, Chase desperately attempts to absorb the escaping energy back into his blade. Not only does that shift the majority of the flames from hitting his own body, but will cause them to strike even more fiercely against his foe.
As Chase struggled to control the force of his own attack , the massive blast obliterated everything on its path. And Dan and the Queen of Pentacles where right standing right on the middle of it. The magical armor forced herself out of his foe’s iron grip with a quick burst of strength, but it didn’t try to escape from what seemed as certain death. The Queen simply… vanished. As the flames licked with melting tongues the walls of the tunnel, the armor shattered and disappeared under the bright fire. A keen observer might be able to notice the irregular and smoking holes that pierced the floor of the cave. Dan wasn’t so lucky. He didn’t vanish or dodge or anything. He was as much in the epicenter of the blast as Chase. He vanished from Chase’s physical sight, but his soul remained throughout.
Sensing the sheer power of the attack and the danger it meant for it’s wielder, the Queen had disassembled herself into just mere pieces and sank into the earth. Travelling fast as bullets, the pieces emerged at Chase’s feet and fit each other like a pieces of a puzzle over the Soul Fighter’s unprotected skin. The thick layers that formed the amazonic silhouette of the Queen bent and changed to fit perfectly with Chase’s muscular body. The beautiful yet tough mask disappeared inside the helmet, leaving just a the transparent and yellowish point of a Pentacle as a visor. Despite of how heavy the armor seemed, with just a few weak spots on the joints to allow for free movement, the Queen’s metal was light as a feather.
As he is dealing with a fireball that threatens his life, Chase didn’t realize the Queen’s actions, due to his nerve cells burning to death over and over again. It wasn’t until the visor covers his eyes does he realize that the metal lady has suddenly wrapped around his body, transforming into a new set of armor for himself. He couldn’t understand the reason for the Queen’s assistance, but at the moment he couldn’t waste any time focusing on that right now. Right now he needs to make sure to trap the flames and not allow this rapid oxidation to expand any farther. Yet, while he is attempting to hold the flames to the area around him, Arlana’s voice echoed shily inside his newest helmet, and just for Chase’s ears to hear. “Uhm.. He-hello?” she said, hesitating “Can you hear me?”
“Who the fuck is this?!” asked Chase in utter confusion. The voice in his head draws his attention away from his task for a split second, which is enough to cause the fireball to blow up to twice its size before Chase is able to stop its growth and prevent another massive explosion. “AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!” shouted Chase as he fights against the extreme force and heat. He couldn’t afford to let another blast go off. Not with Marceline too close by. She was tough, but even he doubts she will be able to survive the fire blast.
“Jesus Christ, you’re loud!” Arlana replied, after Chase’s scream almost blew her brain away. After a few seconds, mostly to recover from the sudden shout, Arlana tried to explain what the hell the Queen was doing. “Listen I… ehm… don’t really know how this thing works and this fiery prick sucks at explaining but.. AUCH! That hurt!” There was a moment of cursing and yelling before the girl’s voice continued “..sshole feather butt! Anyway, I sent the the Queen of Pentacles, that armor thingy, to help you fight against that guy. It should protect you, make you a bit more power and give you control over eart… wait… are you naked? Holy crap! Sun! This guy is NAKED? WHAT THE HELL DO I DO?” Another couple of Sun’s muffled insults resonated inside the Queen’s helmet “Geez! Alright! So…” The girl sounded clearly uncomfortable. She hesitated between words, as if she was repeating what someone else said. “Where was I? Oh yeah! Please, let the Queen fight with you to beat the crap out of that guy! I-I’m gonna go there in a bit, try to hold on!”
Chase grows more and more annoyed at Arlana the longer she talks to him as he tries to manage the flames. As he continues to absorb and restrict his own fierce combustion to his immediate area, he begins to yell back, “I don’t give a fuck about the Queen, just don’t get in my way!” Soon enough the fireball begins to decrease. As the size of the sphere of fire shrinks, he begins to notice his body starting to feel stronger. -Huh...maybe this metal ain’t going to suck after all.- he thought.
When the fires dimmed, Dan was still standing, but unlike Chase, he couldn’t heal. His armor had stood up no better. His entire body was exposed besides a pink aura rippling over it and painted red by first degree burns. Across his chest, on his shoulders and genitals, and in other various pockets of harm, his skin peeled away, suggesting at least second degree burns. He felt pain and rage and humiliation. It was a familiar sensation. He almost smiled as he covered his crotch and glared past Chase. “Excuse me for a minute.” Dan vanished, appearing next to Marceline.
Marceline looked up at him and winced. She could see the damage the flames had done to his body up close. She had her own bad experiences with fire. His scorched body was just an unpleasant reminder of her own, even if he had gotten off easy. She made the only advantageous strike she could from her position. Her head slammed into his privates, managing to draw a curse from his lips before he grabbed both sides of her head. “So you get stronger when hurt. And he does things more drastic when I hurt you. That sounds like a very good reason to hurt you.” Dan released her head to rip her vest off, then vanished again to reappear by Chase.
He wore Marceline’s tattered pink vest around his waist as a makeshift loincloth, holding Marceline herself by the hair. Her struggles and punches clearly left marks in his injured skin, but were ignored regardless. “I’m back. And I see you fixed your own problem. Good thing too. I’m not sure how well her shirt would serve as a wrap for you.” Dan taunted, prying for a reaction from either Chase or Marceline. The latter rewarded him with a kick to his shin and he chuckled. Finally, he felt something. This may very well work.
Chase slowly cracks his neck. As soon as he finishes, he plants his sword into the ground and accelerates faster than a bullet to arrival in front of Dan with a punch aim right at his face. Yet before the punch could land, he quickly pivots on the balls of his feet in combination with the Queen’s minor earth manipulations skills to shift his body faster than his last movement, causing him to disappear from Dan’s front and reappear at Dan’s back with a barrage of punches aiming at his spine. As he prepares to throw hundreds of punching into his opponent’s back, he makes sure to keep an eye of Marceline’s position with his soul detection skills.
Dan took one or two strikes before spinning to catch Chase's fists. Marceline was sent skidding by the sudden release. "I could have sworn you were going to do better than that now. Come on, you're actually stinging me now." He launched a kick to send Chase skidding down the hallway into another section where the thin roots became twisted albino trunks and the things crawling on them were as big as dogs. Dan took a step to follow before Marceline swept his legs, dropping him to one knee. "Oh, you want to come?" He grabbed Marceline's hair and drug her down the hallway with him, ignoring her crushing grip on his arm.
As the vine slowly lowered, Eve kept an eye on the flying animals on the cliffside. They were soft, balloon like things crouching on folded wings. At least a dozen darted out when Huntsman and Matt flew by, giving chase. Their shapeless faces extruded long needles as the approached. Rather than flapping, they expanded, then expelled air to jet themselves forward. Eve relaxed on the vine. They didn't seem as interested in these slow moving targets. Her calm face vanished when one veered off from Huntsman's tail to slice through their vine in an instant. Eve felt the world fall away.
At once she, Haruko and Crow were plummeting towards the pink landscape below. Crow bounced off a ledge before Eve's eyes. Eve realized that these humans couldn't hold up like here and reached her arms out to grab them, hugging them tight to her chest. She managed to steer herself into the wall, and from her feet popped massive bolts that slammed deep into the solid rock and stuck. The group was jolted to a halt, letting Eve examine Crow. He was unconscious and badly injured, but it looked like he would live. For now at least. The balloon creatures were diving close. "Any ideas, pink?" Eve asked, holding the much smaller people gently now.

Haruko watched in horror as the creature sliced through the vine, sending them all tumbling toward the ground below. Before she could toss out her knives with wires attached to slow her own pace, Eve grabbed both herself and Crow, and brought them to a little outcrop in the cliffside. While Eve did take most of the impact herself, Crow appeared to have taken a blow that knocked him unconscious. Sighing, Haruko looked over at Eve. "Well...we can either wait for Cadence or Aria to get here, or start attacking these things from here. How far can you aim that thing?" The seamstress asks, pointing to her arm that usually housed her cannon. Haruko brought out 10 of her explosive knives, leaning over the edge to gauge how she could hit these creatures that were farther away than the targets she normally used these knives on. Once she had her shots lined up, Haruko tosses 5 explosive knives at two of the flying monsters, aimed in an arching path that would anticipate where the creature was going if it continued on its current flight path.
Slightly above the two, Aria continued to descend on her vine platform, firing electric shots out of her pistols that were aimed to bring these flying creatures back down to the ground far below. She had already taken note of the trio down below's safety, and aimed her shots at the creatures that weren't nearby to Huntsman or Matt. Cadence, meanwhile, was busy creating another platform for the others to jump onto once the flying creatures were dealt with.

The flyers did not present much of a threat to the giant fiery bird. A flap of his burning wings sent balls of fire at the creatures foolish enough to follow Matt. Sadly, not all of the creatures saw him and Huntsman as viable prey.
-Crap. Can't I even do my job?- Matt thought. The fiery bird started descending toward the group that somehow managed to land safely on the cliffside. The decent was incredibly quick, but when it got close to the group, it managed to pull up almost instantly. At the same time, it turned around so it's back was facing the group and a flap of its wings sent more fiery orbs at the creatures. Then the bird started ascending again. As it rose, its entire body was engulfed in flame and it left a blazing trail in its wake. By now, surely most, if not all, of the creatures not going after Huntsman were dying the most horrendous death. -I hope I'm not messing with the plant users too much. But I said I was gonna protect them all-

Smith continues to run through the woods as quickly as his legs could move. He even uses his pistols to fire laser shots at the ground in front of him, which removes any snow in his way as he attempts to reach the others. After running for what feels like an eternity, Smith eventually reaches the top of the pit's entrance. -This should be where the others have gathered- he thought as he walks towards the massive opening. Studying the situation he could see unnaturally large vines all around. Immediately he knew that Aria was here.
Walking closer to the pit he looks down and studies the situation below him. Thanks to his supernatural eye sight and gifted brain, he could process the events transpiring below in slow mode. Judging from the behavior of the everyone below, he figures out quickly that the enemies are the creatures flying via expelling air. He focuses on their body and begins to analyze how exactly they able to exhaust air so powerful to be able to perform flight. As he concludes the exact body parts that the creatures needed to be able to fly, Smith points his pistols down into the hole. After taking a few seconds to make out everyone's movements to avoid friendly fire, he begins to rain down a laser storm with godly precision to eradicate the muscles and organs that the hideous birds require to fly with.
As he shots the birds from above, he sends Aria a message through his communications device: "Apologies for the delay President Miyata."

"I can aim it plenty far, but my arms are a bit occupied." Eve continued to hold Haruko and Crow in her arms. If it was just Haruko she could handle it, but with both she couldn't possibly properly use her cannon. Luckily, they had plenty of help from their friends. The monsters burnt by Matt dove down for the marsh below, taking them out of the fight. The ones struck by Aria mostly ignored the electricity, but the bullets themselves punctured some of their airsacks, sending them spiraling out of the sky. Their lightly constructed bodies were easily shattered by Haruko's explosives. Smith's pinpoint strikes dropped the beasts like flies.
Eve looked to Cadence's work on a new platform and pulled her legs tight. "Hang onto the cowboy." She jumped. She would never admit it, but her stomach dropped as she sailed across the air to the new platform. She had to strain to turn over in mid air so that she wouldn't land on top of her little friends. With a crash, she shook the platform. It wasn't a great landing, but it was better than no landing. "You okay, Haruko?" She released the small woman and stood.
Back in the consumed ruins of the dinner, Arlana and Sun were having a fiery discussion. Literally. “Nuh-uh! No way!” “Get your fat ass down there!” Sun roared. Arlana jumped off the way of the fireball the burning sparrow had thrown at her “Not a chance in hell! I’m not going to just jump in a dark tunnel in the middle of nowhere!” The girl run in circles as Sun chase her around, spitting flames between insults. “C’mon, you moron! You can feel the Queen getting further and further away, we can’t let the Devil just escape from us like that!”
“Aw, aw, aw! Stop it! I don’t wanna go inside that thing!” Arlana nearly cried as she jumped behind pile of debris to escape his ruthless pursuer. Her hand closed around a piece of wood just as Sun poked his little head “I said enough!” she screamed, swatting the tiny bird like a flaming tennis ball in a swing that would be the envy of a amateur baseball player. “Asshole” Arlana muttered as she patted a small burning spot on the elbow of her jacket, without even watching her friend plummet inside the trees.
Despite what happened, Arlana knew Sun was right. The Queen seemed to be somewhat connected to her, probably it had something to do with what Sun had explained before. The Tarot Apprentice didn’t know why but she could feel where the armor was. It was a curious sensation, like constantly having a compass needle on her mind that pointed towards the Queen and her wielder. That connection was also what let her talk to Chase and have some idea of what was happening inside the tunnel.
Focused on that peculiar feeling, the girl walked to the edge of the entrance to the underground system and stared blankly at the darkness. “Wow… those two are amazing” she thought as she felt the incredible fight through the Queen. The girl gulped, digging for whatever courage was left inside her body. After a couple of minutes she was still there, feeling something strangely similar to the sensation someone had when they were about to jump in a pool of ice cold water. Luckily, the unwanted push she needed sneaked behind her. “Hey, Lana” Sun’s said, tensely “Have a nice flight” And then he shot a fireball right at the poor girl’s butt. Arlana howled and jumped forward, grabbing her burning behind. She stayed almost static in the air, right in the middle of the hole, with Sun laughing behind her.
And then she fell.
Chase could sense the souls of the nearby creatures as he bounces off the tunnel’s wall, moving further and further down the tunnel’s path. After traveling a bit, he eventually manages to regain his balance and get back onto his feet. As he stands upright and quickly glances around, he immediately notices the numerous creatures crawling around him. The creatures range from various sizes, some as large as a great dane, others as tiny as a chiwawa. As he studies his surrounding, his eyes begin to scan the roots surrounding him. The scenario reminds him of his other soul link weapon. Which causes him to regret his current lack of control. If only he had more time to familiarize himself with it. But before he could dwell on his lack of connection with his newest weapon, he starts to hear Dan and Marceline’s approaching.
Dan rushed down the hallway at a barely visible rate, Marceline painfully bouncing off the ground with her head still in his hand. “That you, you fucking sunburn!?” yelled out Chase as he lifts his right hand, which stirs Kagutsuchi from far behind Dan. “Did you think it wasn’t me? Who else is down here that it could be?” Dan rolled his eyes at Chase’s attempt at banter. The sword begins to burn hot, and melts the ground it rests in. Soon enough it slip deeper into the ground and travels under the earth towards its master, turning anything in its path to ash. As his blade moves closer to him, the soulless man continues to call out, “Don’t Blink.” Chase seemly vanishes and appears behind his opponent due to his incredible speed and use of the Queen’s modern earth manipulation. Without wasting a moment, he launches a left punch at the back of the Avatar’s head, while at the same time, underneath their feet, Kagutsuchi begins to emerge from the ground, aiming the tip of the blade towards the direction of Dan’s torso, appearing as if the earth has fired off a blazing arrow at his heart. Yet, the blade is not on a proper trajectory to even hit Dan…Chase’s eyes widen as he realizes his lack of control over his own weapon.
Dan’s head jerked down with the blow. It was almost enough to rattle him. A vulnerable spot, a decent attack. But Chase simply lacked the means to harm him. Dan didn’t even bother reacting to the blow this time. Instead, he turned towards the glowing blade. With a slight grin like somebody had just told a mildly amusing joke, he lobbed Marceline right at the blade. At once Chase knew exactly what his opponent is aiming for. Even while losing control over his weapon, he desperately attempts to revert his blade to its pen form, or change its direction, yet his commands aren’t quick enough. As he pulls his punch back, he starts to shift his body around Dan and move towards Marceline. Watching her body falling down and his sword rising towards each other, he stretches out his hand as he prepares to stop Kagutsuchi. As his sword is a split second away from piercing Marceline, his fingers are ever so slightly closer to reach the burning metal.
As he prepares to pull the blade away from Marceline, the tunnel’s walls begin to moderately expand further and further away from Chase. Even the unnatural creatures and twisting roots drift bit-by-bit into the unobservable space surrounding him. However he ignores the changing environment completely as he is only focus on saving Marceline. It wasn’t until Marceline and his own weapon starts to move away from him does he begin to realize that the world appears to be leaving him behind. While world gradually escapes from Chase’s senses, at the same time, a wave of darkness begins to creep closer and closer to him. Yet, he continues to push forward. Refusing to allow the approaching ebony smoke to dismay him. But as he rushes forward, he could feel his legs slowing down, until they cease to act altogether. For a moment he looks down to find shadows grabbing his feet. As he struggles to break free from the darkness’ grip, he gazes forward to witness the image of Marceline and his sword’s inevitable encounter. Shouting with all the strength in his lungs, he charges forward once again. Determine to protect Marceline.
The shadows’ hold on his legs grew steadily weaker, while the glow of his eyes burn brighter with purpose. As he braces for the final push to break free, the shadows begin to wrap around his entire body save for his face, and apply an unbearable amount of stress on his body. The force stops his advancement entirely. As he wrestles with the gigantic sooty blob, a voice emerges from the darkness to whisper in his ear, “Let her die....” Chase ignores the voice and tries to free himself. “Let her die.” repeats the voice louder. Again Chase refuses to acknowledge the words and continues to struggle with the shadows. “You can’t escape from me.” the voice taunts Chase. “And she can’t escape from her fate.” “SHUT THE FUCK UP!” yelled Chase as he rips out of the darkness.
Suddenly Chase’s neck was grabbed from behind. Dan hurled him backwards, away from Marceline, then spun to launch a punch before Chase was thrown out of range. His fist impacted with Chase’s armor and crushed it like a tin can. Blood gushed from Chase’s mouth, almost seeming to propel him as he sailed through the air to slam into the cave wall. Marceline was impaled to its hilt in an instant, alight from its heat in another. Dan smiled despite the fact that her screams twisted his soul. “Now if she survives that, she might finally be worth fighting.” Dan vanished and appeared before Marceline. “And you will be worth it until then. Because you must fight me if you want her to survive.” His eyes looked hollow as he kicked her side, ignoring the flames coating her body.
Chase pulled himself up from the rubbled, chestplate popping back out as his chest grew back out. Another few souls spent and he stood tall to charge Dan. Dan held his ground, sliding his feet back into a battle position. Chase shot up on a wave of earth and attempted to steamroll Dan. Dan flicked an energy ball and the wall crumbled in a flash. Chase still threw a punch as he fell. Dan tilted his head and Chase’s fist only scraped his head, leaving Chase to fall into range of an elbow strike. It was just like the kind he would throw when normal, just now with enough power to twist Chase’s head nearly backwards. A chunk of his helmet was sheared right off. Dan bounced him back up with a knee to the crotch and punched him, sending him sailing back again with another dent to the breastplate.
Chase tumbled down the tunnel again, coming to rest on a web of pale roots. Dan looked at the burning Marceline and shrugged. The despair in his heart as he walked away was deep and fulfilling. He hoped she would live, but he knew his hands were stained with blood no matter how he did this. He made his way to where Chase was again regenerating. With a battle cry that shook the earth, Chase threw another punch. Off of his fist peeled the shockwave of a sonic boom, but it was all for naught. With his aura blazing, Dan caught the blow in his fist like it was nothing. “So this is all you can do? This is really all you can do? Useless.” With the first hint of anger he had shown in his voice, he raised his other hand. There was just an arc of pink and Chase’s arm was severed. Dan tossed the armored limb aside. “Leave my sight before I take the other.” Dan kicked for Chase’s knee and bent it backwards, collapsing him to his good knee before walking around him, scowl cutting deeply across his face.
What remains of the Queen is nearly coated with Chase’s blood, and continues to be recoated with even more layers as blood gushes from his expose wound. Eventually creating a small puddle of blood around him. As he continues to bleed out, his broken knee makes a repeating cracking noise as the bones readjust themselves. The process is immensely painful, yet he doesn’t utter a single howl as his hinge joint repairs itself. The only sound he makes is a few heavy breaths as he stares at his foe. As he studies his opponent’s facial expression, his heavy breathing turns into a chuckle, which soon after becomes a roar of laughter. “That’s fucking precious.” remarked an amused Chase. He sits himself up as he begins to wipe away tears of laughter with his remaining hand. Looking away from Dan, his laughter disappears as he says, “You still think you are coming out of this alive.”
Before the Avatar could even properly respond, Chase slams his fist right in the middle of Dan’s face, rocketing both his head and body backwards into a record breaking number of continuous backflips until he is buried inside the upper far side of the tunnel wall. Besides the sudden sonic boom in front of Chase, an aura of reddish energy begins to dance around his knuckles. Yet, this reddish glow did not give off any heat like his flames. Instead it releases a ginormous amount of spiritual pressure on the environment, causing the tunnel to shake violently. The reddish energy soon emerges from every spot on his body, including even his severed arm. His detached arm’s energy stretches outwards and connects to the aura surrounding the main body. Without any hesitation, the sliced off arm flies through the air and reconnects to Chase’s shoulder.
While opening and closing his reattached hand a few times, the aura surrounding Chase’s body persist and developes in size. The increased volume of the aura correlates to the effect on the tunnel. The ground around his feet cracks under this growing output of power and even emits an omnidirectional pushing force, launching rocks and the aforementioned pet sized creatures away from him. Nearby roots are violently torn out of the ground and ripped apart. His aura’s expansion finishes and retracts to cover a few inches beyond his skin and remaining armor. The tunnel begins to calm down as well, but every living being in the tunnel would start to feel their own soul stir and gravitate towards Chase. Yet, the sensation for those close enough to Chase would be rather painful, similar to if someone was pulling one’s insides out.

Seeing that there were only a few stragglers left, Matt decided to land on Cadence's platform. The problem was what a fiery bird landing on the plant platform could have done to it. So he came up with an alternative solution. Flying at the same altitude the platform was on, he could get close enough to just turn into a human and still shoot straight for it.
What he failed to account for was just how much momentum he would have if he did that. He landed on the platform, but he rolled across it until he just barely stopped at its edge. He quickly rolled away from it before sitting up. "Never... Again... That was idiotic... There were at least three better ways to do that..."

Haruko braced herself as they crashed into Cadence's platform, the plant structure shaking back and forth from the unexpected weight of Eve landing on it. Seeing that she was in one piece, Haruko pulls herself away from Eve and stands up, dusting herself off. "I'm alright, thanks for the help back there! Come on, let's finish this up." The seamstress extended out her hand to pull Eve up if she took it, hoping that Eve had enough strength to compensate for the weight of her skeleton.
Nearby, Aria recieved the communication and looked up at Smith, who was just above them on the cliff. Finally, some backup from her company had arrived. "Good work, Smith. It's going to be dangerous at the bottom of this chasm, so I won't order you to follow us. However, we could use the help if you feel up to it." She states on her communicator to Smith. Watching Matt fly across the platform, Cadence grew a small barrier to keep him from rolling off if he was going too fast, luckily the barrier wasn't needed. She descended the entire plant platform down to the bottom of the chasm, looking down at the sight below. This was going to get ugly, the plant doll imagined.

"Understood," replied Smith to his boss. "I will held down immediately." He jumps into the pit and slides down on the walls. As he begins to pick up speed, he points his guns in front of him and begins to release a barrage more powerful shots. The recoil of the fire allows his body to slow down enough for him to be able to go down the chasm without too much difficulty. As he descends, he continues to survey the area and prepares for further conflict.

Gently the platforms touched the ground. They sank slightly in the swampy ground, especially the one with Eve atop it. "Oh, dammit. Cadence, give everybody some wide soles. I don't want anybody sinking." Eve cautiously scanned the area. It was unnatural to the core. The ground was soft and marshy, with some areas of standing water. Every bit of foliage was pink, but that was hardly the most alien feature of the landscape.
Feathery trees waved in the air, glassy spheres like eyes decorating their branches. The very air was an unnatural peach color, swirling with disturbingly animalistic clouds. Strange animals lay at the edges of the water, log like bodies floating and gently waving dozens of little tendrils on their undersides. They waved branch-like antennae for no apparent purpose.
“YOU!” the echo of a battered snicker stomping stone and something soft flew through the tunnel “CHICKEN BRAINED!” a muffled curse joined the echo “ASSHOLE!”. With sparkling eyes and a bright red face, Arlana furiously stomped on the squashed pile of flames that was her annoying companion. The girl suddenly froze when perceived, through the magical connection to the Queen, how a piece of it just… fell off. She was overwhelmed by an ominous feel and her eyes drifted through the tunnel, towards the fight that was taking place further down. The battle, which had astonished her at first, had slowly taken a dark turn. What at first seemed like an amazing and heroic clash transformed into a bloody and dangerous brawl. Without noticing it, Arlana wrapped her arms around her own body, covered in freezing sweat. The Queen was getting utterly destroyed and for what she could tell, the loud guy what wear the armor was in even worse shape. Even as far away as she was, Arlana could sense the Devil’s presence… and something else, a strange sensation that creeped inside the darkness.
Taking his chance, the poodle of flames reformed and Sun to slipped away of his blunt guillotine. “You can feel it too, right?” He said, without a trace of his usual attitude. Arlana nodded. “No going back now, I guess,” her voice craked as she took a last glance at the hole from which Sun had pushed her. Shaking, the girl gave a few hesitant steps forward. “Don’t worry” Sun said as he glided at her side, with a comforting tone “If you can’t go on, i can always burn your ass again”. Arlana didn’t even bothered answering as they made their way through the dark tunnel.
The girl advanced stumbling, her tired feet getting tangled between the strange roots that coated the ground and walls or simply tripping over a tricky stone. With only Sun’s gold and warm flames to light their way and the twists and turns of the tunnel, Arlana soon felt lost. The pulverized craters and resounding sounds of the distant battle were her only guide. The oppressive presences she had felt before had crawled through the pit and casted a shadow even darker than the pitch black dusk that obscured the tunnel. So strong it was, that it even seemed to find its way inside Arlana’s mind. Like the perverse and seducing lullaby of a spider, the presence filled her with a disturbing and uneasy feeling yet it somehow calmed her tense nerves.
In that state of mind, the girl wasn’t even fazed when the golden light reflected on the shiny shells of the creatures that scurried through the walls next to her. She stared at them with little interest in his overwhelmed mind. After fighting those bizarre shrimp monsters back at the dinner, those things didn’t seem scary at all. The girl and his feathered companion came to a sudden stop after they came to the end of a curve on the tunnel. At some distance, crimson flames cast dancing shadows on the tunnels. “Hello?” Arlana asked after a moment of hesitation “is there anyone around here?” Sun glided protectively over her and barked with his high pitched voice “Show yourself!”
The woman in the middle of the flames raised her head at the sound of a voice. "Help!" She managed to cough out over the roar of the flames. She clawed with a nearly skeletal arm at the ground to pull herself towards Arlana, seeking anything she could get.
Dan dropped down from his crater onto his knees. He didn’t stand, just rubbing his hand beneath his nose. His heart skipped a beat when he saw blood. “I didn’t come into this alive. But now I breathe. Now I bleed. I’m almost alive again.” Dan realized going bad had really increased his tendency to give little speeches. He didn’t bother to ponder why, just pulling himself to his feet. “And now I’m going to give you an actual beating for not doing this before now.”
He stepped from the rubble and started bouncing on his feet. He was regarding Chase like an actual opponent again. With a rush of wind, he stepped in and threw a thunderous uppercut for Chase’s chin, which connects and unleashes a powerful blast from the wind pressure of his strike. Yet the soulless man didn’t budge as he managed to grab Dan’s wrist right before the full force of his blow could land. For a split moment, Chase just stares at his opponent with a look of pure hatred as he tightens his hold on his opponent. With his free hand he begins to throw a barrage of swift punches into his opponent’s stomach. Dan grunted when the punches landed, but this was his range. He launched his knee for Chase’s crotch, not minding the armor between him and the most sensitive region of Chase’s body. Without wasting a moment to protect his sacred treasures, Chase releases Dan’s hand and slides backwards to avoid the crushing blow. As he attempts to separate the distance between him, he turns his body with incredible speed and fires a powerful side kick to Dan’s head.
Dan’s head snapped to the side, and it it was with a grin that he ducked and charged, moving to launch a flurry of blows to Chase’s side. The blows stugger him, but he manages to once again grab onto one of Dan’s wrist and proceeds to bend and shift his leg around his opponent’s neck as he prepares to snap his neck with a forceful hip twist, or at the very least, turn his opponent upside down. Dan simply let the movement toss him and cartwheeled to spring off the wall, carrying his knee into Chase’s eye.
As Dan’s knee slams into his head, Chase manages to remain standing after receiving the heavy blow. As blood trickles down his face, he swings his hands to grab his opponent’s expose leg and throw him unto the floor, where he quickly follows up with a high stomping kick to his head with enough force to snap a modern size bridge. Dan caught the foot with some effort as the tunnel cracks heavily from the force of the stomp and whipped his opponent to the ground. As Chase falls to the ground, he places his palm on the floor and begins to twist his body into a series of quick flare windmills as he tries to kick his opponent repeatedly away from him. His legs move so fast that the air in the tunnel begins to turn into a miniature wind storm, resembling a hurricane or a tornado. Dan pulled himself away and up. “Are you done?” He stepped forward again to flip Chase onto his feet with a harsh yank. Without a moment wasted from when the soulless man’s feet touch the ground, he proceeds to rush at his opponent with a series of punches, which seem to alternate from striking different areas of his head and torso with supernatural precision. The series of combinations continue to change as well to avoid his opponent from discovering a pattern behind his relentless attack sequence. As his fist fly through the air well beyond the speed of sound, his body’s aura begins to roar and the reddish tint increases in intensity as Chase prepares to break every bone in Dan’s body. Dan went into his own flurry of movements, half deflections and half his own punches. The two equally matched each other for just a moment.
The two of them hit each other with devastating force over and over again. At times they would block each other, other times they would ignore the other’s attack to land their own, and their fists would even collide during their exchange. Whenever their fists meet, the shockwave that would emerge smash the tunnel and cause the walls to collapse. As the rocks fall down they didn’t even manage to touch the ground as they are destroyed by yet another shockwave from their trading blows. After thousands of these exchanges, which only require a split second to occur between these two foes, both men seem to agree to an unspoken agreement, where for a brief instance neither one of them was allowed to back down from the other’s onslaught. Both plant their feet firmly into the ground, which only continues to be destroyed into an ever expanding crater throughout their exchange. At some point their movements no longer seem to be serve to protect their own being, but to inflict as much damage and harm to the other as much as possible. Chase felt he had the advantage in this scenario as his body could heal itself, and Dan’s couldn’t.

"I don't think walking across this is a good idea. Might I suggest a raft?" Matt said. "And could we try to avoid the antennae? They remind me of weird plants me and your sister saw before." And of predatory animals. If those things didn't pounce at the slightest touch of the protruding organs, Matt would be a very surprised gentleman indeed.
