"Well I'm not too sure about the designer, but a bonafide Saint was buried in this you know." Marie told Thomas as she leaned left and right, giving him yet another chance to get a good look at the outfit and her body. Technically, the only bit of her armor that ever touched a Saint was a single thread running trough the whole jacket, the garment itself was a fairly recent creation, but Marie didn't feel like she needed to share that bit. She focused on something else instead.
"Ooh? Game characters? Is that what this is about?" Marie gave the priest a sly smile as she stretched in front of him. "Remind you of someone specific?" she asked him with her head slightly cocked to the side. The boy practically invited teasing all on his own.
Sadly, what the woman knew or was willing to share she had already said as it seemed. Still, she had said yet another thing that just seemed peculiar. Their age.
"200? 600? Sounds you could have been alive while the Grail was still a big deal." Marie commented, not letting on that this was the first time she had met a being this old. Her father had told her about various fey and immortal beings, but even he rarely came across them in person. This was the first time Marie had an encounter with something wholly not human. That put the shy nature of the boy into an even weirder context. Surely he couldn't be a couple hundred years old and this innocent all at the same time.
"What about you? Don't tell me you're actually an old man in a cute boy's body?"
Stanfield was losing track of what was happening. His initial attack had failed and before he could follow up, both his and his opponent's weapons were ripped from their hands. The girl had landed after some acrobatics and thought herself sneaky when she pulled two new weapons. Stanfield just smirked as he took a step forward and got ready to plant his boot in her face. Before he could however, he had his foot swept out under him and rather gracelessly fell to the ground.
Bale was about to yell at his partner, when the ship which had been approaching from the distance arrived.
"Here to pick up two fuckwits." a man yelled from the ship. It was a medium sized vessel with a pair of naval guns. Hardly a warship, but plenty of a threat here at the small Italian town.
"Richard... great..." Bale whispered to himself.

When Lapis heard the comment about them resembling videogame character she sighed.
"Ah! It seems we are not the ones getting confused with videogame characters for once! remind me to thank that exhibitionist for her gaudy appearance later laz!" Lapis said with Joy. It was only then that she actually noticed the ship, who apparently was calling for those guys.
"Oh great, they have reinforcements, I don't think this is going to intimidate them too much then"- Lapis said as she compared her toy to the guns on the ship. Still, the young mage took a combat stance.
"Don't let them leave! if they don't pay for the damages the school is definitely blaming it on us!"-
Lapis this time got a bunch of sea water in the form of a sphere, it was a lucky break she had so much water to work around with! as the water sphere floated over everyone's heads, she poured the entire thing, looking to wash away all the fighters.

Thomas raised one of his eyebrows. He already had went through this a lot with Derek, girls trying to play flirty just to mess with him and get something for their own benefit - I like to play online RPG games, like Fate - He answered. Making a mischevious smile the boy told the girl - Oowww~★ Sadly you're not pretty enough to even remind me of someone~ ★However, he immediatly stopped when the questions went towards Elatha who wasn't even caring about what the youngsters were arguing about - Eh? Sadly I didn't leave my Kingdom when I was that young, only the King of Driaochtas or some members of the expedition group could have done that, sadly the King has passed away 22 years ago and the expedition group were forced to burn all of their books during the civil war - She explained, the single thought about how many books were destroyed thanks to Fergus gave her a headache. Centuries of knowdlege lost. Thomas glanced at Marie again when she got to know more about driaochtas, yawning he answered - I turned 20 this last Christmas but it seems I age a bit slower compared to my cousinsThe two driaochtas glanced at the fight the Charleses were having with the oriental girl. Elatha tilted part of her body towards her young nephew - Shouldn't ya' interfere and, ya' know... arrest them? I don't wanna, I'll just write a report to my superiors and they will have their chat with the England Ministry of Holy Affaris to figure out what is going on - The boy explained, he really didn't feel like interfering anymore. They had a chance, they wasted it, not his problem anymore.

Lazuli wasn't paying attention to the talk Marie was having with the driochtas so she missed the video game character mention, but she did notice the boat as it approached. At first she thought they were in trouble because a normie was gonna see hidden world activities. Then she noticed the guns and knew they were in trouble for a different reason. Then Lapis noticed it too. She wanted to wash them all away, but Lazuli told her to hold on a bit.
Thinking quickly, she ran over to where her grass was holding Anemone. "Hey, listen, I know we just said you should fighting these guys," She gestured to the bound Charles. "But, if you promise to help us get them to pay what they owe use instead of killing them, I'll let you go."

At this point, Anemone was considering cutting her losses and disappearing with a smoke bomb. If she couldn’t end combat within the first few seconds, it rarely went well for her. She was drawing back, ready to flee, when the ground lurched beneath her. She half-jumped, height limited by the unstable earth, not high enough to escape the sprouting grass. A blade of grass constricted her ankle, slamming her into the ground to be entirely entangled, thick weeds wrapping round her limbs. She struggled, but it did her no good. This certainly wasn’t bringing good thoughts. In her experience, people who were tied up usually had very horrible things done to them. Often by herself.
She turned her knives in her hands, clawing at the grass as much as she could before her opponent could take advantage. Even when he was knocked down, she kept cutting. As if she trusted the woman who did it. She almost had an arm free when something slammed her into the ground like a massive hammer. The air was driven from her lungs, replaced quickly by water droplets, and she was left making tiny, breathless coughs. Her weapons had washed away. She would have been washed away herself if she wasn’t tied down. Her head was pulled towards her wrist and she began biting the grass as best she could. She was getting out.

It seemed there was a limit to how much teasing the boy was willing to take. A pity, Marie thought, her tip through Italy had been so boring she could have used some fun. In any case carrying the charade on any further would have been pointless.
"Rude." she answer Thomas's remarks as she crossed her arms. "Besides, I'm confident enough about my looks and enough guys have hit on me this past week to know that's a lie." she gave Thomas a knowing smirk as she spoke, but left it at that. What the boy's female companion said was far more interesting anyway. Expedition force? Civil war? Marie was afraid to ask, because it sounded like she'd plunge deep into some otherworldly politics she had no business with, not to mention that the two might take offense if she were to casually inquire about those things. Furthermore from the sound of it, it seemed as though whatever information could have been gathered was surely lost by now. Sadly what she could gleam from the two ended there.
Marie was somewhat surprised to hear that Thomas was indeed as young as he seemed. Odd combination that. An ancient being and her seemingly quite normal if awkward and shy nephew. Maybe things like this were a lot more common, not like Marie had a lot of past experiences to drawn on to make the call.
"Oh trust me their sort are not worth the trouble. My father deals with about half a dozen of them each month. They're just small fries." as Marie spoke she glanced over to the conflict that had started with her at the center. If the two had not brought it up she might have forgotten it. Things looked as though they went about as poorly as she expected them to go for the two treasure hunters. She did however also notice that the girl who had come to her rescue initially was bound on the ground.
"Excuse me for a moment." she told the Thomas and Ela before making her way to the scene of the fight.
She approached Anemone casually and manifested Claircuronne in its default a form, a simple longsword. She knelt down besides Anemone, but then thought better of it and changed the sword into a curved dagger before she proceeded. With a single continuous motion she cut through the grass that bound the girl, being cautious to not cut more than greenery. Once several of the layers had been cut into she got up and extended a hand towards Anemone.
"There you go." Marie said, her hand clearly outstretched to help the other girl get up from the ground. It was both a matter of courtesy and curiosity. After all, the girl had arrived unexpectedly and seemed as though she wanted to get Marie away from trouble. The people who arrived subsequently arguably had intended to do the same, yet they had not approached her as directly as this girl had. Marie had a gut feeling that there was more to this than just a chance encounter and she was somewhat knee on finding out what it was.
In the meantime the two Charleses were not faring much better. With a combined assault thrust upon him, Stanfield collapsed. Bound to the ground and out of commission he did not even have it in himself to cry out in pain or complain. Bale would have facepalmed at his partner, but quite frankly he was getting tired of it. The only saving grace of the situation was Richard arriving with their ship, but of course now Stanfield was in no position to make a run for it and as tempting as it was they couldn't just leave him behind.
The man on the ship, Richard took note of the situation and walked over to the controls of the ship and picked up what appeared to be a radio set. Moments later his voice was broadcast from several speakers mounted on the ship.
"Alright, I'm not about to play the blame game or waste time figuring out who's what in this mess. So I'mma call it right away and say that everyone no called Charles better tuck their weapons away, stay the fuck down and go their merry way." after he finished speaking he began fiddled with some other controls on the ship. In response the set of naval guns mounted on it moved, lowering down a bit to point at the beach. He didn't add any further remark after that.
Richard figured the guns spoke for themselves well enough.

You started - Thomas defended himself - Boys would compliment a girl if she is almost naked - He said rolling his eyes - I know about how to be pretty like a girl without showing so much skin, after all I won contests as a crossplayer in more than one ocassion without making my attire lusty - He said certainly proud of himself, after all it was true that he had a really femenine look. Long eyelashes, round cheecks, curly hair and a thin, small body. Of course he had to wear a wig most of the time, but no one could beat the beauty of a boy like him dressed as a younger sister.
Elatha just yawned, she wasn't getting what the two were talking about. She got interested by the fact that the twins were using magic to immobilize Charles and Anemone, it wasn't an incredible amout of magic, she could smell that. However her attention went towards the ship that was coming.
She yawned once again as she saw the guns, it wasn't the first time she saw a ship like that. Back on the years when her father ruled the Kingdom she and Vladimir almost got captured by one if it wasn't by the fact the marines noticed she had the eyes of the King and immediatly went to him even to apologize even when it was pretty clear that the two young driaochtas were the ones that first entered the boat out of curiosity.
Hmm... I'll take a photo - Thomas mumbled to himself, taking his phone out which was decorated with many stickers and pastel harajuku-decora items, the boy took a picture of the ship to later add it to his report, he was going to receive an earful from his superiors even when it was clear that he couldn't even have done anything by himself.
Those guys seem exhausted! - Ela shouted at the man that spoke first - Do you want me to carry them closer to ya'? - She asked as she pointed at them, she wasn't particulary interested into killing or punish them, she was feeling bad about how embarrasing these two were. Whaterver they wanted from Marie in the beginning it probably was now long forgotten, she didn't care about anything now. If they could leave things were going to be fine
Auntie, what are you doing? They almost wanted to fight with us! - The boy immediatly interrupted her with a grumpy face.
C'mon, what's the worst that could happen? They must be feeling like crap so a little so they can get away won't be so bad - She shrugged

Anemone quickly stopped biting when Marie came over to help her out. How to play this? Passerby. Bad English, definitely, that would deter questions. “Sha… shank you.” She put on a heavy Japanese accent as she stood. She was figuring out how to balance accent and being understood when the threats came from the ship. The others seemed smart enough to give up. Good. She wasn’t dying for this. Her own weapons slipped back where they came from and she made no move to search for her dropped gear just yet. The man on the ship could wait until she would somebody willing to pay for his death. Same went for the ones to soak her. Still, they could be useful. She bit her lip and pouted, lip wobbling like a barely-contained spring. Tears began spilling forth, getting lost on her soaked face. “These were my only clothes!” She wailed in Japanese, pulling at her soaked shirt. Evoke sympathy. Look like you’re in over your head. Read the others.

"Yep! that seems perfectly reasonable to me, plus we were already leaving, right, Laz?!!"- Lapis said as she pulled her sister by the arm, she wasn't gonna wait and see if that man had a mood swing and suddenly decided to blast them all away.
The young mage looked at Anemone as she walked past her, very convincing act yes, if it weren't for the fact she was carrying way too many weapons and moved around like a supersoldier from an action movie. That girl was absolutely dangerous and the less they interact with her, the better.
"Need any heals? surely you didn't provoke those two into a fight, right?"- Lapis told Marie, if anyone knew what the hell had just happened, it was her.
"Oh sorry, I suppose we outta introduce ourselves first, I'm Lapis Antari!"- She told Marie as she put away her toy gun back into her bag.

The gunship rolled into port. Its captain didn't waste a moment in announcing that the Charleses will be going with him and anyone who disagrees will feel a bit of a breeze going through their body. Since Anemone refused, or didn't understand, Lazuli's offer, the mage was left frowning. She knew she didn't really stand a chance as it stood, but she also didn't wanna back off at this point. Luckily, her twin pulled her away before she did something stupid.
Lazuli's staff disappeared as she answered Lapis. "Yes, we're leaving." She did her best to remember what the boat and the people looked like. Then she noticed the kid with the blonds taking a photo. Perfect. If the twins couldn't get any money out of them, then maybe they could sic the school on them. Strong though they might be, they didn't seem to be a match against experienced master mages.
Back to the current situation, Lapis figured they should get acquainted with the others. "I'm not sure introducing ourselves is that important, but I'm Lazuli, her twin. You," she pointed at Marie, "Do you know how costly this fight of yours was?! Our ship suffered big damage because of your fight! Someone needs to make it up to us and I don't think those three are gonna do it so readily."

Before she had fully gone out of earshot, Marie took note of the comments Thomas made. "Oh dear, a crossdresser calling me out as a pervert? Now that's really going too far. That's honestly a weird thing to brag about but... you do you I suppose." Marie said with a shrug before glancing at Elatha with a look that said "good luck with that", and then she was off.
As Marie helped Anemone the two girls from the ship approached them. By the looks of it things were getting wrapped up... somewhat. "Marie. A pleasure. Thank you for the offer but I'm not injured. The two upstart grave robbers just picked a bad fight at a bad time and well... have a look at them." Marie said barely paying attention to the two men who would have been her opponents had things gone a bit differently. "And wait just a moment now, don't try pinning this on me. Those two attacked me with no provocation, if anything I'm the victim here." Marie protested though not in earnest. She had no intention to pay and even if she wanted, she didn't have the funds for it so there really wasn't much point in her arguing with them all that much.
Her attention was on Anemone when she was up. The girl said her thanks, bemoaned her clothes by the looks of it. All in Japanese. All while apparently crying. Marie regarded the girl with sharp eyes for a moment.
"Oh I'm so sorry about that." Marie said in a gentle tone with a warm smile on her face as she clasped her hands around Anemone's own. "Please, you were so kind to me, coming to save me from those two. Let me pay you back. Oh, I know what about lunch in town?" Marie asked the girl before pausing for a second and putting a finger to her lip. A moment later she said: food, with me, go, thank you. It was all in Japanese.
While Marie was doing her best to make a new friend, the two Charlses were busy getting out of a pickle.
Bale managed to free Stanfield with a combat knife and was dragging him towards their ship. "Nope, thanks, we'll be fine. You stay as far away as is humanly possible." Bale said while Richard lowered a boat for the two to climb in, which then lifted them to the ship.
"Won't forget this! All of you, ya hear?!" he yelled out to everyone present, but the sound of the engines turning on drowned out a good chunk of it.
The double Charleses and Richard were leaving.

Ela yawned again - Well if ya' say, make sure idjits to don't get in trouble again - She said as she returned, when she heard that last threat she turned just to show her middle finger and finsihed that with a ridiculous burst of laughter before returning to the rest. Seemed that the little incident provoked some collateral damage, well it wasn't something that worried her too much. Thomas by other hand made a call on his phone after sending the images to his superiors - Yes, yes I'll make a report... No, I don't want to go back to the Vatican I can do Home Office you know? H-Hey! Don't yell at me! It wasn't my fau- I don't lie in my job so please... Contact the British Branch - He said before hanging up. He raised an eyebrown when he saw the japanese girl crying... if moments ago she had a snarl that could kill if she had such power... He decided to stay away for the moment.
Yo! So I see yer' havin' trouble with ya' ship? - Elatha approached the twins, glancing back at the damaged she tilted her head to once side, murmuring - This is why I like to teleport... So! - Se said facing them again - How much does that cost? - She asked as if they were requesting to buy the cheapest ship toy from a craft house. Originally she was pretty sure it won't be that expensive if she payed with silver and gold, the only thing that worried her is that the whole incident may cost her the time she wanted to spent with her nephew.

Anemone sniffled when Marie took her hands. “O-okay.” She nodded. Perfect! Perhaps she could convince her to go home through sheer persuasion. She was satisfied with herself as she went about, picking up and stowing all of her weapons and covering up with her oversized hoodie again. Hopefully this payment would get rid of the rest of them. She lurked at the edge of the group, observing. Ugh, the Vatican. She’d tangled with them. And for them. Sometimes, they didn’t want a holy hand gripping the knife. Perhaps she knew things that could deter them if it came to that? She thought deeply as she unwrapped a lolipop from her coat pocket.

Lapis backed away when Marie confirmed she was ok.
"Oh, well, in that case, I'm glad! Any idea as to why they attacked you like, out of the blue?
She then addressed Elatha, good thing there was someone willing to take responsability!
"I know that model costs around 2 million dollars so...I'm guessing two hundred thousand to repair the hull and the tank..."- Lapis said with a straight face, she knew it was a big amount of money, but that fight nearly damaged more than just the ship.
The water mage then waited to confirm the payment and would address them once more on a different matter, she got really close to Ela and mumbled near her:
"Be wary of that Japanese girl, don't trust her act, alright?"

Just as Lazuli was beginning to curse her luck with all these cheapskates, the woman who stayed out of the fight chimed in. Was she offering to pay!? Excellent! Lapis cited 2 million as a price for the whole ship so 200k seemed like a reasonable price. Lazuli didn't really know how much the ship cost, but that seemed about right. Damn it, sis, you could've overshot it a bit...
"Though my sister could be wrong. If you're offering to pay, we should stay in touch just in case."
Furthermore, Lapis suggested the Japanese girl was not to be trusted. "Why would say that? She doesn't seem that bad, just grumpy." Lazuli thought about it a bit more though. "Well it is weird for a tourist to just jump into a fight. But she's Japanese; they're all supposed to be nice like that, right?" She looked at Anemone curiously, waving if the tourist looked back.

Things seemed to be resolving just fine. It had been all a bit too hectic for Marie's taste but it was over now. The scavengers who attacked her to begin with were gone and everyone else seemed to be ready to leave. Most seemed to be fairly pleased with the outcome as well, though it was still somewhat beyond Marie as to why so many people had decided to get involved in the first place. She had a feeling she'd have to get used to this sort of thing happening more often now that she was on her artifact journey.
Luckily the girl who had first come to help her did not object to them grabbing a bite to eat. Marie gave her a warm smile and a nod before looking over the other people who had taken part in the whole ordeal. There was the two... well she wasn't even sure what they were, but at any rate she was confident that they weren't really human. They seemed harmless enough, though looks could be deceiving. The woman had more information on the grail than most but even that wasn't much and she didn't seem to be awfully interesting to begin with. Then there was the two whose ship had been damaged at the start. They were rather focused on that, seeking reparations from everyone present. Luckily one of the non-humans had indulged them and was going to pay out the whole sum. Still Marie was rather intrigued by the coincidence. She had judged the small Italian village to be dull beyond description... yet the moment a small skirmish broke out, no less than five individuals besides her affiliated with the hidden world showed up. Was the supernatural truly this dense everywhere? Was there something special about the town? Or was it all just happenstance. Marie knew she'd have her answer as her travels continued.
"Ready to go?" she asked Anemone, before repeating the word go in Japanese for the girl's benefit, doing her best to say it in an inquisitive tone. Her hand was outstretched for the other girl to take while she regarded the others one last time, wanting to see if anyone had more to say or do.

Thanks? ... But I only care about my nephew, oh, he is coming this way - The Queen of Driaochtas casually said as a bursting teenager came running to her side with a grumpy face. Elatha raised her eyebrow, noticing that she cleeeeeaaaarly was about to get scolded the classical Kearney way.
Auntie! You can't go paying around what other people do! Those ridiculous and pretentious british men should be the ones paying for all the damage! - The boy almost yelled, because it wasn't fair for his aunt! It really wasn't! She should save that money for agreements and exchanges with probably new allies, not to spend it repairing the disastrous mistakes of criminals!
It's not really that expensive... - She said as she sulked, the kid could be right but the less she had to worry the sooner she could go and have a nice time with him - Let auntie take care of this, be a good boy, ok? I'll buy you an ice-cream later - She said with a big smile
Auntie you can't buy people by giving them whatever the--- well... but even if I don't have a great income I'll pay the ice-cream myself, remember that you're still an important guest for the Vatican - The boy replied back, his cheeks round and filled with air. He looked like a squirrel at that point, a frustrated one.
Yes, yes... - She said with a lazy nod. With a movement of her hand, a light blue fire appeared on it and when it dissipated a small fabric bag appeared in its place, it was noticeable that it was heavy even of Elatha's palm - There you go, little mage - She said as she gave it Lapis - I think that'll be enough for it!

"Did you not see the type of weapons she used? and now she's crying like a baby! that's not normal Laz! you are too trusting of strangers! this is why mom gets mad at you so often!"
Lapis looked inside the bag only to find it was full of gold coins, her eyes widened for a second, but she played it cool.
"Ehm, I believe we are done here, thank you for your cooperation."
Now that they had some good money, they could pay the for the ship damages
"This might be a bit more than what we needed, but oh well, I consider the extra as payment for the emotional distress the whole situation caused us, wanna go get something to eat? we can go look for antiques after that."- She said as she took a gold coin from the purse and gently tossed another at her sister.

Anemone slightly tilted her head when Marie spoke in Japanese. Excellent, she didn’t have to drop her act. “Oh! Yes, I’m ready!” She said in Japanese before bowing to everybody else. “Shank you! Bye bye!” She waved with her eyes closed, keeping herself as innocent and pathetic as she could. She only took interest in them again when Thomas mention ice cream. She wanted ice cream… but she couldn’t abandon the mission for ice cream! Not even for gelato! Her face became an intense mask of concentration as she resisted asking if she could come with them. She’d buy gelato later! Later!

"Come on, there are weirder people in Gateway..." Lazuli fiddled with her shirt's collar. It's not nice being admonished by your twin... On the bright side, at least Lapis finally saw the value of money. On the, uh, cloudy side again, she came out and said it out loud! You don't tell people they gave you more money than they needed to! You just let them be oblivious about their mistake and hope they notice too late to fix it.
Lazuli caught the coin Lapis tossed her and bit into it to make sure the woman who could conjure money out of thin air at least made it real. Het teeth left a mark so she was happy to take it. Lapis suggested lunch before they did what they came here for and after that clash Lazuli liked the idea. "Sure. As they say, when in Italy, have authentic Italian pizza." She pulled out her phone to google a nice pizza place nearby. "Oh there's an even a clothing store here. We should stop by there! After we're done, of course."
