“Oh, you are related to him! And you like him too, for whatever reason. Gotta ask why, honestly. Stupidity? Blind love? I really am curious.” Huntsman chuckled at Elatha’s response. He only rolled his eyes when Audrey interjected. “Dangerous situation? It’s some homeless dwarves. I kill more dangerous things than that just to see how they taste.” Huntsman snorted. Eve strode over and grabbed his shoulder. “You, left side of the wall. Elatha, was it? Right side. Back up the princess. Watch my spotlights.” She shoved him away and he went grumbling to his assigned corner.
“Sorry about him. He’s cranky cause he hasn’t gotten to kill anything since we got here. And probably won’t if the princess and my dwarf sort this out.” Eve peeked around the walls defenses to spy on Onyx’s progress. Onyx stood on the precipice of one of the three tunnels that led into the walls. He could barely see the grue, a shimmering shape barely made solid by the tiny amount of light that struck it. But in the darkness with it, he could see the hand holding the whip, the only part of the dwarf sticking around the corner. It was distinctly covered in a gauntlet.
Onyx’s eyes narrowed, but he extended his hands to show he was unarmed nonetheless. “I am speaking for the royal heir, as you have heard. Drop what pass for weapons and you may enter the mountain, at least until the crisis has passed. That only goes for you who are truly here as refugees. The dwarf who has captured the grue is going to answer some more questions.” He glared past the homeless dwarves as he said the last sentence. “We didn’t… they said it was the only way to get in.” One of the old miners nervously glanced into the darkness. “They were wrong. Now drop that pickaxe and go.” Onyx yanked the mining tool away and kept an eye on the fleeing miners as they passed him.
As soon as they were clear, he grabbed his golden bracer. "I block the flow of flames, I seal the serpent's mouth. I am dragonslayer, scale-splitter, who cuts wings like sails and severs the tail!" He growled in guttural dwarvish and the armband unfurled and stretched itself into a massive greatsword. Slowly he approached the figure around the corner, one eye always on the grue. “Who are you? You’re clearly not just another outcast.” He asked. “If you do not answer, then I have no use for you.” He warned, and it seemed to be enough to draw the dwarf from hiding.
They were covered toe to top in the finest dwarven plate, a similar build to the exploration gear used a century prior to delve these depths in the first place. Onyx could see the softer leather through the less-protected joints and the winch on the hip used to adjust the attached grappling hook. He was armed not just with the whip Onyx had spotted but a tower shield, marked heavily with black sigils Onyx did not recognize. “Death to the usurper’s seed!” He yelled, slamming the shield into the ground. A wall went up, near-invisible but shimmering.
With his senses, it was difficult to notice what happened, but in a second, he realized that the grue was gone. The magical wall was a barrier for light. “Everybody! There’s a real force down here! They have-” His warning was cut short when a crossbow bolt struck him in the chest. “Hgh.” He gurgled. In his distraction, he hadn’t noticed two more dwarves appearing, crossbows in one hand, short swords in the other. A perfect loadout for tight quarters. It pierced shallow, stopped from reaching anything vital by his raw durability, but it still hurt. “Fuck.” He growled and charged. Up on the wall, Eve was quickly giving orders. “Lom, you can see in the dark too, right? Keep your boyfriend alive back there!” She didn’t have to tell the Blue Dwarf twice, and she was off for the central tunnel in an instant. “Melon, keep up the intel! Becky, skinny ass to the right tunnel, make sure nothing comes out of the little hole! Audrey, cover her and the middle tunnel! Elatha, Isak, Leor, keep the refugees moving! Huntsman, eyes on the left tunnel! Kill anything that pokes its head out! Sound good, Hunt-” An earthshaking clap of thunder shocked her in the midst of her sentence as the spotlight on the left was smashed clean off the wall, crashing to the wall behind in a crescendo of shattering glass and crumpling metal. It only took Eve a moment to process what had just happened. “That wasn’t fucking mining equipment, what was a cannon! New plan, Elatha. Handle that cannon and whoever’s using it! Leor, I want you to support whoever you think needs it most.”

The blue flames coming out of Elatha's hands was fierce and shinny fueled by the strong emotions of her owner.
OH I'M REALLY GONNA FRICKIN' TELL YA' FUCKING WHY-- - She stopped suddenly when the princess called them out. Clicking her tongue Elatha's fire dissipated and where she was standing now reduced it's brightness.
She was mad againat Huntsman, but she didn't want to stand out any more with Audrey around. Eve came to apologize in his behalf tho - If ya' say so... anyway, thanks for protecting him on that Island - She said with a lower voice. Her tone was different compared to the way she snarled at the shapeshifter, it was filled with concern, gratitude and seriousness.
She knew that back on the days she was possessed, Fergus used to take Derek into deadly and stupid challenges just to strenght him as a vessel... Arata wasn't the exception, but thankfully Gallerian and Chloe managed to work in incognito so Fergus didn't knew about their existence.
Gallerian took care of the paperwork in Heaven to change their services, so they didn't have to serve Elatha but Derek. And Chloe hired the bodyguards as she had to be present during the guardian reschedual procedure. Which sucked.
Going back to the present. Elatha followed Eve's rules, as they seem to be under attack and more than one problem. Their priority wasn't the refugees but the wall itself. If they couls break it and go after the grue, Ela could cause severe damage to it by just illuminating the cave with her fire or so she thought, believing it was actually an easy task. But first things, first.
The abruptly effect caused by the cannon made the plans to change.
Roger! - She answered Eve and began to charge against the cannon. Celtic, enochian, Irish and Latin symbols and letters appeared in a shibning light blue pentagram she summoned. It get absorbed and transformed into sharp short celtic sword.
SUP YA' MORONS! MIND IF I JOIN' YA!? - She began to teleport to get closer. Moving and appearing in different directions. A cannon required precision and its heavyness made it a bit slow to correct its direction. So Ela decided to take advantage on that an move as fast as she could to get closer.

Leor was impressed by the way Audrey wanted to handle things, she was amazing! no surprise everyone followed her...
Unfortunately, not all the people in there were reasonable, making the encounter unavoidable, did they not care about what was gonna happen?!
The moment Eve began to issue orders, Leor straightened himself and listened attentively, his original order of helping the others evacuate was almost immediately swapped by another. This time he had to help others on the team, but who? The young warrior proceeded to go with Lom, as he could also see in the dark without any trouble.
“My Lady! I’m here to assist!”- He told her as he went ahead to engage with the dwarves, he lifted both hands at chest height as he spoke at him
“L-lets not use violence, shall we? it would be bad if someone gets hurt...again”- He said as he looked back at Onyx who had already been shot by that strange weapon.

Onyx held negotiations with the homeless dwarves from beyond the wall. His words seemed to be enough to make the miners cooperate, however that wasn't the case for everyone. The situation turned for the worse when Onyx took a bolt to the chest and an explosion rocked the caves. What Melin assumed was just mining equipment turned out to be a cannon. "Sorry. It's difficult to identify things in the darkness with my human eyesight." Them having siege equipment was a bad sign. It made the wall less useful and clearly presented a danger for the spotlights keeping the grue at bay.
Eve ordered him to continue observing the field, but he wasn't sure just how much use it would be with his limited vision. He aware of the importance of information for something like this, but he felt he could still do more. Digging up a bow and a spear from his bag of holding, he summoned Spears and Bowie. "Bowie, ranged support. Spears, protect the dwarves. And Leor."
The two warriors confirmed their orders and got to work. Bowie placed himself on the wall and first fired an arrow at the slightly shimmering barrier to see if arrows could pass through when light couldn't. His next two arrows were aimed at the cannon tunnel, aiming around the faintly visible metal of the weapon itself hoping to score a hit. Meanwhile, Spears ran up next to Onyx and pointed her spear forward. The front end of the spear unfolded like an umbrella with a metallic membrane almost as big as a dwarf in its entirety. "Hold on, sir dwarf. You should stay behind me. I will look at your wound when it's safe. For now, apply pressure to the wound, but don't pull out that bolt."
Content with his units' tasks, Melin focused his attention back on his crystal ball. He hoped he could at least recognize movement and warn about incoming dangers even if he couldn't identify what exactly was coming.

“Come on queenie, let’s see if we can set off some gunpowder stores.” Huntsman licked his lips and jumped from the wall. He glowered when Elatha teleported ahead. “Hey! Don’t kill all of them before I can have any!” Huntsman yelled, springing after her. Elatha was in the tunnel first. Up close, the cannon was a lot clearer, smoke pouring from the barrel. It was solid dwarven engineering, an unusual weapon clearly pieced together from multiple parts.
A cannon crew worked around it, pushing it forwards until Elatha appeared. All of them were decked out in the same armor as the ones facing Onyx, armed similarly with repeating crossbows. Orders were yelled in dwarvish and they took cover behind their cannon, raising their bows. Elatha faced a good half-dozen bolts, vicious harpoons made to pierce durable Hidden Worlder skin. Huntsman came snarling around the corner and a bolt immediately struck through his body.
“Heh. Cute. For that I’m shooting that one with his own crossbow.” He was ready to pounce when a different bolt struck his chest, shaped strangely and crackling with electricity. “Oh, that’s dif-” Lightning coursed through his body, dropping him to the cave floor. “And for that he’s getting shot twice.” He snarled. Two arrows came flying into the tunnel, making the dwarves take cover but not striking any.
The central tunnel was much more crowded. An arrow flew overhead, passing easily through the barrier and clattering to the ground in the darkness behind. Apparently, it was only impermeable to light. Onyx huffed, taking note of that. He huffed more when the spearwoman got in front of him. “This is a scratch. We’ll have time to look at it later.” The protection of her shield deflected a few bolts, giving him time to greet Lom and Leor. “Lom, I want you with me handling things in the darkness. As for you-” He grabbed Leor’s collar, pulling him down to his own level.
“We are under fire. Violence is no longer an option, it’s a reality. The only option now is who it’s inflicted upon. If it makes your conscience feel better, try not to kill anybody. If you can’t even handle that, go back to the surface and get off my mountain.” He shoved Leor away and skirted the shield. “That was way too mean.” Lom rushed up beside him as he charged the shield. “This is not a now conversation.” Onyx drew back his mighty sword and the dwarf behind the tower shield let go, stepping back to let it stand on its own. Good. Onyx would rather not chop him in half in Leor’s vision if he could help it. The kid was freaked out enough.
Two of the strange soldiers rushed Lom, drawing her off in the tunnel. Onyx stepped in and with one swing chopped the shield in half like snipping an old credit card up. The field vanished and he strode through. “I admire that you lead from the front. But today it will get you killed.” The voice came from behind and he spun just in time to take another crossbow bolt right next to the one already in his chest. Hidden just out of sight was another dwarf with another, identical tower shield. He slammed it down and Onyx was in darkness. “Lom!” He yelled, but he couldn’t see her beyond the barrier. Something rattled in the darkness and the soldiers around him were smiling.

Don't fuckin' call me like that! - She protested, trying to evade the bolts by teleporting mid-air and at the sides of the tunnel. There wasn't much space to avoid getting hit. Throwing a fist to the walls, rocks went flying at the dwarfs direction. She used her sword as a baseball bat to repell their attacks, feeling the electricity hitting towards the edge, vibrating in her hands. What an odd feeling, it reminded her of those times sparring with Vladimir. With one hand she threw a blue fireball at the sides of the cannon, to don't allow the dwarfs to escape - Hey ya' sap, give me a hand over here! - She yelled at Huntsman.

Leor looked at Onyx with a perceptible expression of sadness, it wasn't about the way he spoke at him, plenty of people had told and done much worse before. The reality was that Leor truly felt sad for the dwarf, it would seem he did not care about hurting or even killing his own kind.
"Violence is always a choice..."- Leor replied in a low voice as he straightened himself up whille looking at the dwarf take the lead.
When Lom was attacked, Leor immediately reacted, rushing to her aid. Even with no light, Leor could see just fine. his other senses had adapted to the point he could locate everyone through smell and ear alone. He could sense the dwarves...and the creature creeping around. In order to advance as a group, they would have to deal with the shield's barrier first. He dashed towards the shield and did a spinning back kick, looking to remove the barrier or at least shift it from its intended area of effect, if that didn't work, he would outright pick the shield and toss it to Onyx so he could deal with it himself.

Unfortunately, it appeared that the dwarves weren't willing to cooperate after all, the middle tunnel becoming engulfed in darkness and one of the spotlights being shot out by a cannon. Isak sprang into action, turning on his powerful flashlight and aiming it directly at the tunnel Ela and Huntsman were attacking. "Here, that should help!" He called to them, tapping the flashlight with his index finger and letting go, the flashlight magically suspended in the air. "Spacial freezing, how nice you are." He joked, leaping off the wall and pulling out a shiny silver longsword from his side, prepared to drive it into one of the dwarves Lom was fighting.
On top of the wall, Audrey ducked down after the spotlight was destroyed. "So that's their plan..." She muttered, looking at the two arrows she had previously shot and snapping her fingers, causing the arrows to violently explode into two long slabs of ice pointed away from each other. Parts of the remaining spotlight were then refracted across the icy mirrors, making two additional streams across the wide room for more illumination. "Now..." Taking aim, Audrey watched the shadows of the middle hallway, ready to let loose an arrow should any of their dwarven enemies emerge from the shadows.

The dwarves and Leor ran into the darkness beyond the barrier. Spears couldn't. Her soul was that of a human so her physical body was that of a human, too. She couldn't see inside. She relayed this problem to Melin through the connection they had and he looked around the wall. But there was no portable source of light. No torches or flashlights. Aside from the one the princess's bodyguard had.
"Ah, sir knight, do you have another flashlight? Or does anyone have a lighter? A flint? If we can take any light source past that barrier, it should make it easier for Onyx's group. And I might be able to see inside."
Meanwhile, Bowie fired an arrow next to the entrance on the far left cave, teleported toward it, then fired another arrow into the middle cave and one back to the top of the wall. With his retreat options set up, he popped out of cover and fired a few arrows at the cannon crew.

“Call you what, queenie? You prefer basilisk? Crowned whore? Court jester? Pick one and I’ll use it, your majesty! Your wish is my command!” Huntsman cackled, managing to rip the bolt from his head and scuttle forwards, staying behind Elatha for cover. The dwarves went ducking for cover when Elatha’s rocks pelted the cannon, more orders being barked from cover. New bolts were fired as she approached, this time lacking the same crackling. When deflected or impacting, they released splashes of clear fluid. Whatever they landed upon, they let out a fearsome hiss as they dissolved them into puddles, from stone to steel to Elatha’s flesh. The same came for Huntsman and he scuttled closer to his makeshift cover.
“Ugh, acid. Of course the assholes have acid!” His head finished remodeling after its injury and he flicked a long tongue up to the ceiling. With a tug, he shot to the ceiling, darting along to drop down among them. “Oh well! Join the party! Try to just get your clothes melted and not your face!” He grinned, even as a short sword was stuck through his neck and his shoulder was being melted. Bowie’s arrows helped, making them duck again, giving Elatha a moment with no bolts coming for her.
Lom engaged in a deadly dance with two other dwarves. Her glowing wings took her in and out of range swiftly, her sword nicking them in their joints, but not making a definitive blow before they drove her back with their numbers. At a distance, she threw off crescents of light from her blade, but the attacks were not powerful or frequent enough to put them down. She was getting herded slowly towards the darkness, backing deeper into the tunnel. She had no doubt whatever was in there was bad. Likely an ambush on top of the Grue. However, far behind the dwarves, she saw a glint of light coming close, and another further away. She let them approach, then darted right overhead, out of reach of swords.
“Can’t catch me up here!” She taunted, and their crossbows raised. They were still looking up when Issac stabbed one right through the armpit. She crumpled soundlessly, leaving the other one time enough to realize the danger before an arrow took his shoulder. He screamed and dropped his sword. His crossbow raised and he fired wildly at Issac, all piercing bolts, made for armor. Lom moved to help Issac, but something more important happened in the next second. Leor’s kick caught the shield and spun it nearly 90 degrees. In an instant, the slightest bit of light was trickling through, showing a horrid scene. The grue could be roughly compared in shape to a bear, in the same way a hill could be compared to a mountain. It was a mountain of shag, fur atop fur nearly reaching the ceiling. Its long tail and neck were equally furred, tail shoving across the floor like a massive mop, neck writhing about as it tried to pull Onyx’s stubborn intestines from his stomach with a horrible curved beak longer than his entire body.
The instant the light hit it, it screamed in rage, lurching backwards. Smoke poured from its body and hair fell out in clumps. Lom took advantage of the opening and threw a glowing slash from her sword, blasting a steaming hole in its side. It made a noise, half cackle, half scream, and rumbled back deeper into the tunnel, only leaving a few scattered dwarves. “Nobody… go into the darkness.” Onyx hissed, standing up. “Except you guys. You guys are allowed to go wherever you damn please.” He growled at the dwarves in his sight. They all stepped back just a little, nervously glancing to one another. That wasn’t supposed to happen.
Becky was alone in her little corner, so far as she could tell. The crevice here was wide enough for her at the very front, but it quickly became impassible. She couldn’t see more than a few inches, but that was no issue. Darkness filled her hair, stolen from her surroundings, and she extended feelers into the crack. She poked and prodded, finding little of interest. A few insects caught her interest, but there wasn’t anything bigger. She grabbed the insects and fed them to her summon before reaching just a little further. Her hairs stuck.
Immediately she pulled back. After Warden nearly ate her head and cost her most of her hair, she had grown cautious about anything grabbing it. This instinct proved to be correct as something yellow began to bubble out of the crevice. “Eve! Bad thing!” She yelled. “Figured. Cherry, you’ve got something to do.” She pointed to the princess of skulls. “I’ll need to see what it is before I can assign my forces.” Cherry had already sent her zombies towards the main tunnel, keeping her others stationed nearby on standby. She hovered over and immediately turned up her nose.
“Noxious glop… recognize it?” She hovered closer to observe the yellow mass. A purple eye blinked open on the surface. Then a dozen more of various sizes and colors around it. “Choker. Bad thing.” Becky scrambled back more as the glop formed into an almost humanoid shape, two columnar legs, two arms waving with grabbing, three-petaled hands. All of its eyes were located on top, not quite a distinct head so much as a mushroom-like extension of its trunk. Burbling and gurgling, it half-walked, half-flowed forwards. Cherry huffed at it and willed a ghoul to strike.
It came in screaming hate and lunged right for the choker. Its claws tore into the creature and didn’t come out. It tried to bite and only got glop gumming up its jaws for its efforts. Every struggle just sank it deeper into the slime, and soon not a muscular patch of flesh was visible. The choker was a little taller, a little faster, and still moving for the wall. “My ghoul! Open fire!” Cherry yelled and her skeletons were already acting, firing their assault rifles into its body to no effect.

Leor took a combat stance, now that the grue had escaped with its life, only the dwarves remained.
"This should be enough, don't you think? we are trying to save everyone in this mountain so drop the weapons already!"- He told the enemy with a stoic semblance.
Perhaps things could be solved now, the enemy had lost the advantage on the main tunnel, and Leor was sure it was only a matter of time before the others took control of the situation in their respective areas as well.
"A-are you injured, my lady? what about Lord Drakenskal? I think I saw him get struck by their weapons..." Leor told Lom without losing sight of the enemy. Even if Onyx couldn't fight at this point, Leor was sure he could stop the group with Lom's help.

Would you jUST SHUT UP FOR A MINUTE!?!?!?! - The Queen of Driaochtas's exploded into blue flames, her melting sword went flying towards one of the dwarves at a really high-speed. However Elatha didn't bother to check if it damaged that one. Teleporting once again behind them and the cannon, she threw huge fireballs at them, summoning another sword she swing it towards the dwarves as she took advantage of the brief moment of no attacks thanks to Bowie.
Stepping back a few meters, a pentagram appeared in one of her legs, and kicking it as if it was a soccer ball, she threw the pentagram that grew its size as it get closer against the dwarves and cannon to finally take them down. Her arms still were bursting on blue flames, illuminating at greater scale compared to the flashlight Isak left.
We need to get back with the others, if someone doesn't have enough light the grue is going to take advantage of 'em - She said as she snapped her neck - I don't go by royalty shit, Bollix. I go by Ela

The Ela group opened the path to the cannon crew and let her unleash a powerful magic combo, hopefully finishing them off. The rowdy royal suggested they go back and help the others, but Bowie objected.
"We should explore a bit further in, just to make sure there aren't more enemies hiding in here. Your flames should help us notice them more easily, but we still shouldn't go in too far."
Meanwhile, Melin's search for a source of light turned out not to be necessary. Leor managed to remove the shield and with it went the barrier. Light could stream in again and Spears had a chance to see the Grue trying to tear into Onyx. The light frightened it off just in time though. The enemy dwarves were shaken by this turn of events. Spears charged in, hoping just the sight of reinforcements would help them make up their minds to run away or surrender.

Huntsman yelped and retreated when Elatha teleported amongst the group and threw her point-blank fireballs. “Ah Jesus, fine, I won’t call you Emperor Blondie!” He lunged onto a wall to avoid the cleansing flames. In a moment of violence, she killed or incapacitated the entire cannon crew, damaging the cannon in the process. “Aw… you didn’t melt anything. Honestly I told you to just lose your clothes, but you can get totally melted if you want!” Huntsman landed atop the cannon. “That was boringly easy, honestly. You’re lucky you get to go die underground. The wall’s not in any danger.”
Becky watched helplessly as the choker walked casually towards the wall, undeterred by either bullets or Cherry’s necromantic bolts. “You two back away!” Eve yelled as it shambled up to the wall with a few long steps. Her cannon unveiled itself and she aimed. The cavern shook and yellow glop splattered across the floor. The choker’s head was tunneled out, most of it gone, few remaining eyes still staring into nothing. There was no sign of brain, bone, any sort of structure underneath.
Totally undeterred, the choker reached its arms up and they stuck tight to the nearest spotlight. Its body leaned back, putting its full force into pulled at it. Metal creaked and stone cracked, and with a horrible crash, the entire device was ripped from the wall and thrown back across the clearing. Only one spotlight remained, the one in the center, darkness creeping around the corners. The choker was plodding towards the last source of light, ready to annihilate it. Its sticky flesh simply crawled along the ground, rejoining and reforming the body.
“I’m fine. Onyx?” Lom hovered over him. “I’ll live.” He grumbled. The grue was unable to pierce his muscles entirely, limited by him struggling back. It hurt, but it wasn’t debilitating. The appearance of Spears made the dwarves retreat further, seeking the safety of darkness. They looked past their enemies and their apparent leader sneered. “We will see how you fight in darkness, humans. The grue will have you, false king.” He spoke in dwarvish, unintelligible to most there. The squad broke and ran. “Better they retreat that risk more injury.” Onyx said, although he wasn’t especially optimistic. Something was still up. He turned to see the mass of yellow walking alongside the wall, approaching the last remaining spotlight.
“A choker? Is that a choker!?” He coughed. “I don’t know, they don’t normally even come up as high as my village!” Lom yelled. “Physical damage won’t do anything… but I have no idea what will.” He admitted. Before he could go find out, crossbow bolts began coming from deep in the darkness of the tunnel, pelting the group. “And they don’t want us to find out. Somebody handle the choker, the rest of us will hold the line here!” He summoned his shield to block bolts, hunkering down into an impenetrable target.

We can't - She firmly said to Bowie - Whatever is in there will come after us when we return, or will hide until we are few again, but for now the smell of trouble that is reeking from there - She pointed out at to where their allies were - Is getting worse
She ran towards the center, hands and arms bursting into the bright blue flames she had. She could smell something different, despite of the grue, the dwarves, her allies but she couldn't figure out what it was. The scent of Cherry and her party were strong enough the mess around with this new scent. As soon as she came back bolts began to attack again the group. She summoned another pentagram, this time letting it grow its size enough at reaching the walls, but it wouldn't last long, this wasn't her speciality
Hey! Beard-on! What the heck said the coward over there? - She rushed back to his side, she didn't had to think enough to know the grue attacked him - dang... But hey! Good thing you don't have a hole! I'll bake pie later, right? So don't get eaten first! - She joked in her best mood, her smile seemed as she was teasing him but it twitched a little, she was worried. She never met a grue before, there were many creatures outside of the kingdom that were too unfamiliar to her even if she did read about them and even got a bit of information from Thomas and Gallerian.
She glanced and saw a weird creature approaching, it was yellow... and... somehow it looked disgusting. She threw a fireball so it didn't reach the last spotlight - Hey ya' soft shitte! Here is somethin' brighter than that! - She teleported a bit far from the rest again, so it only focused in her and both of her arms that were still spourting blue flames. She already made a plan, she was going to make it follow her back to the tunnel. Then she was going to evaporate it, if it could... Otherwise, the only plan left she had was to teleport and lock it's path under rocks.

Leor looked at Onyx take cover behind his shield as the first bolts began to come their way. He began to catch them mid-air and throwing them to the ground as they came, they were pretty fast, but not nearly enough to beat his reflexes, Leor looked at the bolt for a moment and sighed.
"Thank Shura they retreated, I was NOT ready to punch them"- He told Onyx as he yet caught another bolt mid-air. as the projectiles kept going, Leor began to slightly dodge them, they all traveled straight, so it wasn't particularly hard to predict where they would go. he extended his hand and caught one of the crackling ones, which immediately lifted his hair upwards but didn't do much beyond that.
"Hehehe, this one tickles, the pointy ends are still dangerous"- He said as he squirmed a little. the following bolt splashed the Poreal with a clear liquid right on his chest, making Leor's eyes widen almost immediately.
"Nooo! my clothes! that was the only thing I owned!"- he cried as he wiped the fluid with his hand. his possessions had been cut by 50% instantly, what a terrible day!

Huntsman and the not-queen didn't want to explore further and Bowie wasn't gonna go in on his own. Going back to the entrance, he was met with the wall-climbing slime going after the spotlights. Ranged physical attacks weren't very effective against it, so Bowie wasn't in the perfect position to deal with it. Elatha seemed to be set up a lot better for it though. Firing off flames which might be decently effective against it. If her attacks managed to at least stun the creature or temporarily dissolve it, Bowie could fire some arrows at its eyes. Hopefully those were solid enough to serve as a weakpoint.
On top of the wall, Melin thought a different approach would be useful. "Princess, can you freeze the slime? If we solidify it, perhaps we can deal damage to it."
Meanwhile, in the middle cave, Spears spread open her spear-shield and stood next to Onyx to provide extra protection from the arrows. "Mr. Leor, grab a barrier shield to strengthen our shield wall."

With the dwarves retreating, Isak withdrew his blade and deflected an incoming arrow aimed at him, diving forward and picking up the crossbow of a fallen dwarf and loading a bolt into it. "If you're going to shoot at someone..." With precision, Isak sent the bolt flying into the darkness, using the glint of one of the dwarven crossbow bolts as a marker for where to aim. "...make your shots count." He mumbled. Loading another bolt, Isak sprinted forward and took cover behind a nearby rock, ready to let another bolt fly into the darkness.

Up on top of the wall, Audrey watched as Becky was attacked by the strange yellow monster, which began making its way toward the spotlight. Loading another ice arrow into her quiver, she aimed for the creature's core and let the arrow fly. "Thank you for the advice, Melin. I'll try to keep it in place!" She commented, loading three arrows into the bow and letting them fly in an arc, trying to free more parts of the slime creature at once. Even if they missed, the iced part of wall should make it more difficult to get to the spotlight.

“Hey, good acid resistance. That’s the best level. Clothes melt but not the person.” Huntsman smiled at Leor. Onyx was just gaping at him entirely ignoring the electricity. How tough was this kid? “We’ll get you another Do you think you could survive tying down the choker?” He suggested. “Pff, no. It doesn’t matter if he’s invincable. It would pour itself into his lungs and choke him out. Physical attacks will just get shrugged off. I don’t know a whole lot about them, but they don’t have organs or anything. Hell, they’re a lot like me. Admirable, really.” Huntsman admired the choker as its arms latched onto the final spotlight. “Still, I prefer life.” A serrated blade sprang from Huntsman’s arm and he lunged clear across the room, slicing through one arm.
The choker didn’t even change its focus as the arm stump snagged his back, spreading quickly as it attempted to devour him. A significant portion of his flesh was shed and he scuttled away, leaving the choker with a meal to enjoy as its arm reconnected and it pulled again. Onyx growled, but there was nothing he could do. Isaak was attacking the dwarves in the darkness, and that seemed like the best move now. He lunged in with Lom, her glowing wings bringing them into the light. Audrey’s arrows sank into the choker, stiffening and freezing parts of its body. Frozen chunks shattered, but it seemed to not matter in the slightest to the choker and it just kept pulling.
With a mighty wrenching, the light was gone and the spotlight was crumpled like an empty can before being tossed aside. The choker was still visible, lit up by a flashlight in Eve’s chest. It half-turned, taking an absent swipe at her that grabbed her off of the wall. Its other arm shot out at Audrey, stretching seemingly infinitely as it intended to grab her. Soundlessly, sightlessly, something appeared in the darkness before Elatha and Leor. A massive, crushing paw swung for Elatha, a stabbing beak for Leor’s abdomen. The grue had waited, and it waited no longer. "Oh..." Cherry glowed green, giving her a grim view of the situation. Her body shook as the choker sluggishly crept below. "Stop staring and do something! Focus on the grue!" Eve yelled from below. Cherry gulped and darted into the caverns, looking to help.

Hey, hey... Are you a dragon born...? - Elatha asked Leor when she saw the clothes of the boy getting melted. Taking out her leather jacket she put it immediatly to the boy, giving him no time to protest - Don't freeze kid - She said with a big smile. Even if they were in the middle of a catastrophe, she felt great helping out the younger ones. The Driaochta's jacket was still warm from her using it but it immediatly adapted to Leor's temperature, The size was big enough for him as well. If anyone payed attention, even if in the current time it was impossible, the Queen was using a black t-shirt that had white wings at the back, right in the same place where her scapula was. That little moment they had got interrupted by the sudden absense of lights. Ela could feel something was approaching them, it smelled disgusting. The slime ignored her completely but thankfully was being taken care by Audrey... But the choker was still around and now was aiming for Eve. She needed to think fast. The Slime could be defeated, from what she remembered, by attacking its eyes several times and freezing its body to later destroy it in tiny pieces... Well, that depending on the type of slime. Now the Choker, she never read what could defeat such a creature... they usually leave the area if they struggle with their victim. Now the grue, that one was easy... Or at least that's what she thought However something big was moving at high speed, ready to squash her to the ground, as well something else was moving towards Leor's direction - Kiddo, watch out - She warned Leor as she couldn't teleport him with her. Bursting her arms now to the shoulders with blue flames, the Queen of Driaochtas shone ready to fight the Grue with her own hands. Summoning two shorts swords in each one she let them get covered by her magic as well. She almost looked like a living torch. She remembered that when Derek first awoken his powers he got called by the hunters the "Morning Star", as she was his mother, she smirked with confidence. Her son got a great nickname! So that didn't bother her to go all the way!
