“Yes, I’m afraid I haven’t heard of him. The HWIC stays out of Japan out of respect for the JHWAB and Musashi.” In reality they did keep some tabs just in case something happened to threaten the rest of the world, but that was best kept quiet. He had no doubt the JHWAB at least knew, but it was still touchy to bring up. “Greetings, Ginkumo-san. It is our honor to meet you.” Stephan bowed low. As respectful as he always was, he turned it up a notch for the spider woman. Japan’s mythical sapients were much like the fae in their capriciousness. He followed Callis, eyes on every door they passed.
Dan was already belted up when Gen began explaining things. He had to be to stop the second thoughts. Breaking into government-owned territory full of dangerous criminals? Awesome. Taking what was essentially a theme park ride to get there? Gut wrenching. Dan closed his eyes and began to regulate his breathing. His efforts to clear his mind were broken by Goemon. “You what?” His eyes snapped open so he could raise an eyebrow.
Marika stiffened up when she was approached. Every word was making her blush a deeper and more dangerous purple. She seemed externally like she wasn’t looking at Sakka, just staring into her books to continue her work. However, her fingers went a little closer to the scissors at her hips, sized more like garden shears, with every insult. “If you don’t like the design… you can bring it up with the boss. This is a commission.” She growled. The only thing stopping her from attacking was the knowledge that Kuro-san and Yuu would both be really mad, but a thought reached her mind.
She would just take her apart and hide the evidence among all the parts she already had! “Miles. Kuro-san won’t recognize her without skin. But keep your explosions away from my projects!” Marika whipped the scissors from the holster at her side and raised them at Sakka’s neck before realizing something. “Wait a second. Who are you!?” What was with this bitch? She kinda looked like Marika herself, just with good skin… and tall! Now Marika hated her more!
Yuu kept a stoic face when Ikari didn’t take her bait and kept walking. She didn’t feel whatever Ikari did, but she certainly heard it. A loud crack, then Martha’s angry yelling. “Marika will have to fix her nose again.” Yuu sighed, rubbing the bridge of her own.
Inside the room, Martha didn’t let her broken nose slow her down. “I’ve grown used to fighting like this!” She blinked through tears and lunged forward to bring her forehead into his nose. While it might not seem very smart to headbutt anybody coated in metal, Martha wasn’t very smart. What she was was tenacious.
She ignored both the pain of her busted nose and whatever pain was being caused by her own attack and used the close range to try kicking at the back of his leg to sweep it out from beneath him. “Martha, what are you doing!?” Yuu’s voice trickled in from outside. “Ah, fuck.” Martha made the fatal mistake of looking away from Riku, focusing on the door into the training room.

Callis’s response wasn’t satisfactory to Cadence. His lack of knowledge was potentially dangerous in a place like this, if there truly was ‘foul play’ going on. “...foul play indeed…” The plant doll remarked, recalling the image Callis had given them of their prisoner. Cadence carefully studied the strange box the prisoner was held in. The charms placed along the outside likely contained this man’s power...and the small air holes would provide excellent entrances for plants if she thought having a...distraction was necessary to get away from the group.
She followed the group while sat in her chair, the vine supporting the bottom pushing her forward. Once they reached the door, Cadence made both the plant and chair wither away into tiny plant fibers that blew away in the wind. Her face briefly darkened into a glare when she saw the lady in the spider kimono. Images of Marika flashed through Cadence’s head, her expression only softening slightly when she noticed the woman was far older than Marika. She followed along with the group, her stoic expression having now returned to her face. Cadence made a mental note of the structure of the place; wooden walls were perfect with her powers, especially if they were being led into a trap. She wanted to hide her powers for as long as possible from the people inside this prison, which was part of why she got rid of her chair from earlier.
Glancing over at Vladimir, Cadence briefly placed her lips onto her pipe and inhaled more smoke, slowly exhaling. “...Vlad...was it…? I’m curious...what is your relation to this...group…?” She asked. He wasn’t any HWIC agent she knew, and openly clashed with Callis...so he probably not a JHWAB agent either. Why was he here…?
---
The answers Gen gave didn’t exactly inspire much confidence in Haruko. “So this tower is going to disappear after one shot...we’re going to break into a supermax prison...and find your master. Yeah...that should work.” Haruko said uncertainty, thinking this plan was ridiculous. But it was too late to back out now. Jumping into the strange device, Haruko sat on one of the seats and buckled herself in tight. Should she be in gem girl form for this? She was already strapped in...so it was unwise to transform now, and unbuckling would waste time. What were they doing here?!
Her attention briefly shifted back when Goemon was finished talking, Haruko joining in Dan’s surprise. “...come again?” She asked. Inducted in for three months?! She then turned herself forward, bracing for the sudden shot into the air.
---
Miles watched as Sakka walked into the room, his face growing a deep glare when she began to insult Marika. Who does this bitch think she is?! When Miles saw Marika reaching for her scissors, he stepped forward and attempted to lower Marika’s weapon from Sakka’s neck, purposefully ramming his shoulder into Sakka’s side to try knocking her over. “Now Marika...let’s hold off on punishing this waste of skin for now...” He gave Marika a warm smile, then turned to Sakka and glared once more, bringing out his own knife once more and twirling it in his hands several times. “...who the hell are you, and why are you insulting Marika?” He asked, hoping she was just a minor grunt in this organization who wouldn’t be missed if he harvested her parts for Marika’s next doll.

"Well, if you know how we're going out, I'm ready! I'd hate breaking into prison without knowing how to break out again." Arthur strapped himself into one of the smaller hamster balls while Haruko aired her insecurities.
"Come on, Ruko! Let loose! How often do you get to break into a super prison? You gotta enjoy the thrill or there's no point in going!" After Haruko strapped in, Goemon started talking about joining an Australian tribe during a shoot. Arthur wasn't sure what the story had to do with this ramshackle magical rocket railgun, but...
"Oh, is that the tribe that inspired the group of spiritual warriors? I did think their customs seemed a bit more unique than regular movie tribespeople. Talk about art imitating life!"

Vladimir vowed at his anfitrion, still thinking about the whole information he received. It wasn't as much as he wished and the map seemed a bit... confusing, modern places and technology weren't his thing at all. The Ex-Paladin hoped to don't stay behind his team, it was true that he has learned stuff as he worked in malls, government and more jobs that he couldn't count anymore but he didn't want to get cocky.
As he walked, the man tried to memorize the halls and doors that were near them. As he carefully payed attention, the man listened to the young girl's question.
A friend of mine... send my curriculum here without my consent, she talked to me yesterday so I hurried - He chuckled as he tried to avoid saying too much, or Lucille's true intentions - She said I had to get a better job... However, I've heard about the HWIC and JHWAB, I didn't want to work to a big Hidden World company first because I'm pretty domestic but well... I ended here anyway and rejecting the job was going to be disrespectful
The man didn't trust Cadence yet to tell her about his curse, and his whole situation with the Driaochta Kingdom, Derek Van Dercycle and Thomas Sillything... He needed to find someone to trust during this mission, someone that works for both the JHWAB and HWIC. He needed to make sure if they knew "The Iron Maiden", Eve Harper and the people that were in the Arata Incident a year and a half ago. From what he knew, the people involved mentioned a Succubus, a ShapeShifter and an Archer that where in charge of protecting a not known important figure of the Hidden World.

Ginkumo guided the group through a maze of hallways, clearly there was some spatial trickery in place, as the palace seemed to be larger than it seemed from the outside, plus Callis was pretty sure that the gravity’s pull had changed at least three times since they entered, but they kept walking as if nothing changed. -This is quite the complex.- He commented to their guide. She smiled, revealing that her mouth was much larger than it seemed, almost reaching her ears. It wasn’t really noticeable, just a thin crease drawn over her cheeks and one splitting her chin in half, clearly, she had more spider traits that it seemed upon the first inspection. -Yes, it is, we’re lucky that the Bureau acquired it from the Tengu Clan that previously inhabited it.- With a very gentle swipe of her hand, she fixed he unhinging jaws, realizing they were opening a bit too much and continued. -My family has been tasked with the care of the administrative branch and some of the security, but other Taisho Clans have more involvement in security.- She was referring to the clans of mixed blood between Yokai and Humans that made the spine of the JHWAB, serving in positions all over the hierarchy of the organization.
Soon they arrived at their destination and she kneeled opening the door. -Excuse me.- She whispered as the door slid open revealing a large room, with the same wooden aesthetics, but with red tatami mats on the floor. Several short desks were placed on the floor and dozens of bookcases covered the walls from corner to corner in every side. There was only a single man inside this office, an older gentleman with the same hair color and number of eyes as Ginkumo. He was dressed in traditional japanese garb and had a very long pipe he quietly puffed smoke out off. -Ginkumo-chan, you brought the guests? Good work.- He stood up with some difficulty. Ginkumo’s kimono hid her legs, but the old man standing up wasn’t covered as well, revealing that instead of feet he had 2 pointing legs on each side, skittering on the wooden floor. -Welcome to Shirokumo folks, I’m Sankumo, currently the head of the Administrative Wing.- He gestured to the positions in front of him on the low desk, inviting them to sit down. -Please, sit, we need to fill up some paperwork while our clerks take your prisoner to the center of the prison.-
Sankumo gestured with his hand to two newcomers on the hallway but Callis interrupted him. -Sorry Mes Sankumo, but I was tasked to follow the prisoner at all times, he is extremely dangerous and the Bureau asked me to keep a close watch on him.- Sankumo was getting ready to complain. -But Sir, I’m following proto- Callis cleared his throat as he pulled a scroll from inside his jacket. -Excuse me, but I have a signed order by Mes Yasumori himself, giving me the authority to override protocol and the added orders to perform a through investigation of the premises after delivering the prisoner to his cell.- Callis opened the scroll that rolled out on the desk, facing Sankumo, who was gradually losing his cool. He read the scroll from right to left, from bottom to top and his uneasiness grew. -I see… Allow me to do some calls in my office, we need to prepare the prison for inspection, locking up the prisoners in the yards or in the workshops.- He stood up and skittered toward one of the side doors. The other two and Ginkumo also left the room, but they went out to the hallway and deeper into the prison. The group was left alone. Callis turned around talking to Akane. -It was just me or was he nervous?- The Beast Knight never was the greatest study of human gestures.
-Who am I?- Sakka chuckled, her laughter echoing inside the large chamber, the faint light from the lamps above reflected on her glasses. -Apart from being untalented, you’re uncultured? That’s a pity.- The Demented Writer scowled as she grabbed one of the notebooks hanging from holsters on her belt. -I’ll show you who am I.- She scribbled on an empty page and a tall and handsome man appeared, he was wearing a white shirt, a green vest and blue pants. He used glasses and looked like the star for a J-Drama. -Aoi, be a dear and teach this useless blue collar worker bitch who am I.- The man lifted his hands and started performing strange gestures with both hands, ending by crossing both arms. Suddenly, the air around Marika and Miles grew heavier and before long the pressure became unbearable as if gravity itself was multiplied. But it didn’t last long, as from Sakka’s shadow a figure cloaked in black and covered in chainmail appeared, using his arm to slash the well-dressed man in half. A splash of ink covered the floor as Sakka took several steps backward in fear, before running away -My name is Sakka Jaakuma! Remember that you arachnid amateur!-
Urnas, the Vampire Nobleman, stood tall, like the creeping shadow of a moonless night. -You continue with your work seamstress, as my master asked, I’ll keep the distractions away.- His words lacked any warmth or any kind of comfort, it was like hearing a wall of ice speak. With that said he melted into his own shadow, leaving Miles and Marika alone.
Martha’s headbutt caught Riku right on the nose. The Ironclad Boxer wasn’t expecting her to take the broken nose, mostly as during training Ikari taught him to always do a first blow that would stun or impede the opponent. The fact that Martha was a doll and was stubborn as a mule wasn’t on his calculations. Her forehead cracked him on the face, but instead of a crunching noise, just as she emitted before, there was a strange crumbling, like stepping on a ball of aluminum foil. His nose wasn’t broken, it seemed more like it was dented, like a car’s chassis. The nose started to go back into its normal state, pulled by tendrils of Benkeinium as Martha performed her next attack, one easily avoided by Riku, who lifted his leg over the sweep and prepared to attack her as she lost focus, ready to punch his way into her brain through her temple.
-Riku stop!- Ikari’s roar blasted air pressure bullets directly at the Iron Clad Boxer. He received one without flinching, but that was only the first of many. Soon the powerful blast of condensed ki thrown by Ikari sent Riku flying backward into the wall, crashing into the wooden paneling, leaving an indentation shaped like his body. -You two stop fighting right now and follow us, we’ve guests and we’re making a welcoming committee for them.- He turned around and walked out from the training room, directly towards the stairs to the Super Max level beneath them. Riku got out of the wall and fixed his arm, twisted beyond human limits back into place. He could become as malleable as Quicksilver and as durable as titanium, not actual shapeshifting, at least not to an important scale, but good enough to go back to his proper shape. Still, he wasn’t invincible by any means of the word, just pretty durable and adaptable. He left behind Ikari without saying a word to Martha, not even glancing at her, cold and unfeeling as a machine.
-I got lost in the Australian Outback and ended up living with a native community, they were really impressed when I punched a large rock that had blocked their waterway and turned it into dust.- He smiled. -I still visit them from time to time.- Gen interrupted. -Yeah, yeah, that’s pretty nice, but guess what, we’re launchin’- The Hot-Blooded Boxer pressed the button and threw it out of the cage, to avoid getting it entangled during launch. The whole towers started humming as energy moving through the magical circuitry towards the base of the sphere, charged up the runes with magical energy. -The old man that built this told me not to speakin’ while we’re movin’, somethin’ ‘bout losin’ all our fuckin’ air or somethin’ like that.- The runes kept getting brighter and brighter until finally, they stopped, losing all light. Nothing happened. Rin sighed and palmed her face with frustration. -Gen, I swear to god, if this doesn’t work you’re paying me baaaaaaa-- Rin’s chastising was interrupted by a loud explosion that sent the spherical cage flying upwards towards the skies. Thankfully the thing didn’t spin around, their seats remained perfectly stable, as the gyroscopic array around the cage did all the moving.
They blasted through clouds with breakneck speed, getting closer and closer to a large storm formation. The Sphere pierced through the storm with a loud crash, almost as if they went through some kind of invisible glass pane. Actually, they broke the barrier surrounding the storm wall and managed to pierce through, finally getting over the clouds. The massive structure known as Shirokumo was floating amidst thundering clouds. But something was amiss, as seemingly the break-in through the barrier wasn’t perfect and part of the gyroscopic array keeping the sphere aligned broke off, shifting their course from the lower tower to the left tower. In a matter of seconds, before anybody could do something about it, the cage crashed into the wall of the left tower, landing inside a large room, one of the minimum security cell blocks. For a moment neither Gen or Rin moved. But soon the door of the cage opened and the Hot-Blooded Boxer, nodding to his sister, took the first wobbly steps out of their ruined vehicle inspecting the area. It looked like a prison block from American movies, a large main room with walls covered in cells, made of wood instead of concrete and metal and reinforced with magic. But something was wrong.
As Gen scanned the area while the dust of their forced entry settled in, he could only see the carnage. Piles of recently deceased bodies were scattered all around, blood splattered around every tile, every wall and every wooden bar covered in charms. Directly in front of the crashed vehicle, there was the largest pile of bodies in the room, a veritable mountain of corpses. Atop this mountain of gore, there was a figure clad in black armor with little to no color except for red eyes. On his hand he carried a large revolver with two barrels, one blue and the other red and his body language showed him to be quite surprised, as his face was covered by black bands of metal. -What the fuck!?- Gen asked upon seeing the stranger, who cheerfully waved at him and without warning shot something to the side, killing a prisoner that was crawling on the floor. -Guys, I think ya should get ready for a fight.- Gen said as he walked outside the cage doorway while keeping his eyes locked on the strange figure atop the hill of dead prisoners.

Akane was actually trained when it came to reading body language, but you don't need the training to tell when someone is that transparent., The fact that even the beast warrior noticed made it clear to her. There was something wrong with those guys, the uneasiness of Sankumo did not go unnoticed probably by everyone in the room. Akane did not hesitate to reassure her boyfriend of his suspicion.
"He clearly wasn't ok with this, and I don't like it," she said with a slightly bothered look, being on enemy territory would be bad enough in itself, but having them be disguised as allies was even worse. She tried not to jump to conclusions from the start, but her hand from that point onwards would be ready to draw her blade.
"Since they are getting the prison ready for inspection, we will have to be meticulous when searching for any kind of irregularity"
She looked at Callis for a while and smiled a little as she relaxed her posture, even if the situation was dangerous, she was confident they would pull through.
The collector was pleased to see Ikari had some impressive Ki within, but his attention was immediately shifted to the boxer. Z showed disbelief as he saw Riku's body entirely covered by Benkeinium, he was familiar with it, but he had only seen it once before on planet Enhari, 7000 light years away from earth. Select high ranking individuals from said planet utilized the creature by enhancing their battle armor and weapons, allowing these parts to morph into different shapes mid-combat. Their increased versatility made them one of Z's most fearsome foes. After the Raians destroyed their planet as a last resource, Z thought the species went extinct. seeing it here was unexpected, to say the least.
*⏚⟒⋏☍⟒⟟⋏⟟⎍⋔? on this planet? why is such a valuable organism merged with filth like that?*
Z knew he wouldn't be able to just take it for himself without consequences, he had to be patient. He wasn't sure if it consuming it would work, but that wouldn't stop him from trying. If he managed to consume Benkeinium and add its properties to his exoskeleton, he would become nigh invincible, his status would rise to the higher strata of the Raian hierarchy. with that, claiming entire planets for himself wouldn't be out of the question should he return to the empire lines. The alien was quite willing to kill the boxer and make it look like an accident, at least that was the smart move for now. Had he been at full strength and with the entire disposition of his arsenal, he wouldn't have hesitated to fight the gods themselves for the prize. Before leaving, the Raian unintentionally pressed crushing a killer instinct onto the boxer, it wasn't something only experienced fighters would get, the bloodthirst was so strong it would have stopped the heart of a regular human. He turned away reluctantly as he followed Ikari onto the level below.

When Gen told them to stay quiet or they'll get air sucked out of them, took a deep breath and actually shut up. He wasn't foolish enough to doubt it would launch like Rin was and he was glad for it.
They soared through the air at speeds Arthur wished regular vehicles could achieve. Their target soon came into view. Shirakumo, a prison Arthur never saw before and hopefully will never have to again. It was a lot bigger than Arthur expected. To think a country with such a low crime rate would need such a big institution for hidden world denizens. Now Arthur regretted not asking Gen if he knew the way to his master. As they passed through the barrier, the sphere veered off course and smashed into a different part of the prison than the one they were headed for originally. They still hit the prison at least and, as they say, any landing you walk away from is a good one.
"Well, that was a fun ride. I won't be recommending it to any amusement parks looking for attractions though. Rebuilding it every time would cost a fortune!" Arthur stretched after such a bumpy ride and followed Gen out of the cage. The bloodshed they ran into was not something the ice mage was expecting. At least it meant the prisoners wouldn't interfere with their mission in any way.
His eyes followed the trail of carnage to the cowboy on top, who casually shot one of the survivors of his rampage. Thinking about, Arthur figured this man was probably in a similar boat to theirs. If this was such a recent event that there were still some survivors, the cowboy either just arrived or this prison was even bigger than it was on the outside. Seeing as this was a hidden world facility, both options seemed plausible.
The cowboy waved them over and Gen warned that a fight could break out. Understatement of the century, Arthur thought. But avoiding a fight be best.
"Hey, friend!" Arthur waved back, casually walking over to the pile of corpses. "We weren't expecting to meet anyone here. We weren't expecting to land here, actually. I hope it's not a problem if we just mosey on over to our destination while you carry on with your... Mission?"

Stephan tried to keep track of the hallways they passed through, but it was a futile task. He had been in places like this, like Iris’ vault under the HWIC building. That place always gave him the creeps. He could only imagine what it was like to work here, let alone being a prisoner. He supposed these supernatural beings were more used to it than he was. He took his mind off of his surroundings by observing his comrades. He had been doing this a long time, and he could tell a lot about people by watching them. He didn’t need to notice the callouses on their hands (except in Vladimir’s case) to notice that everybody but himself and Cadence carried weapons. It wouldn’t be unusual outside of the Hidden World, hell, it would be weirder for nobody to be armed, but the prevalence of weapons told him something here. They likely didn’t have very many flashy powers of their own. People who could fire off really hardcore magic didn’t rely on sharpened bits of metal. They were all most likely heavily skilled martially, with impressive physical abilities. There were other things he easily noticed. The way Akane and Callis drifted a little closer than people usually walked in the hallway. Cadence’s eerie lack of any emotion. The experience in Callis and Vladimir’s ages. They were older than they looked. Similarly, he saw the strange mouth of the woman who lead them. She had put an admirable effort into looking human. When they reached the administrative room, Stephan was quiet, not interrupting the warden or Callis. He noticed the nervousness of the yokai long before Callis brought it up. “It’s to be expected. They’re used to having some level of autonomy here.” Stephan shrugged, not seeing the issue. “While we have the time, do you know what kind of irregularities you’re looking for? There are many things that can be wrong in a prison. Guard corruption, civil rights abuses, gang activity. Some are easier to catch than others.” He glanced around like he could suddenly catch any of these problems out in the open right here.
Dan cringed when Gen mentioned the possibility of losing their air. “Tell us things before we-” His voice vanished when his windpipe seemed to drop into his torso when the ball went careening upwards. His eyelids fluttered as he couldn’t decide whether he wanted to see where they were going or if he wanted to block out the terror of their rapidly increasing height. He could feel nothing but the g-force pushing down on his body, making him feel like he weighed a ton. It would have been fun if not for the fact he might die.
The g-force suddenly shifted and he realized they were careening off-course. Far too late, he reached for his buckle to free himself and shield others, but he realized halfway through the gesture that he was the one most at risk. It didn’t matter either way, as they crashed into the building he lost all his senses to the crashing noise. The sphere came to a slow enough stop for him to only get a bit of whiplash and a pain across his chest from being thrown against the seatbelt. He undid the belt and toppled out, gasping while air slowly made its way back into his winded lungs. This wouldn’t have even bothered him a year ago! He grabbed a bar of the cage to prop himself up and took a look at the room they had crashed into, hoping they didn’t kill anybody with their landing.
When he saw the carnage, his stomach churned, but it only took another moment to realize they weren’t the cause. The gunslinger in black atop his mountain of corpses seemed just as surprised to see them as they were to see him. “You’re going to let him get away with… this?” He finally managed to stand up straight and walked past Arthur. As he was right now, he wasn’t exactly itching for a fight with a guy with guns. But bile rose in his throat when he looked at the bodies on the floor. Dan was unconsciously sliding into a fighting position, boots slipping in blood.
“Why shouldn’t I cut her to ribbons!?” Marika yelled at Miles, raising her shears. She nearly dropped them in surprise when Sakka summoned a man out of thin air. “How did-” She was pummeled to the ground by the sudden increase in pressure, weak body unable to resist. “Miles… help!” She wailed, unable to raise her limbs. She was saved, not by miles, but by a figure she vaguely remembered from that day trip to Russia.
“Uh… thanks, Ur… Urnas.” She managed to dredge his name from the deepest corners of her memory banks, miraculously preserved. She just stared at the ink on the ground when he vanished, vision beginning to blur with tears. “I… hate this place.” She threw her shears across the room. “I hate it I hate it I hate it!” She wailed, beating on the oversized skull of her project, tiny fits harmlessly bouncing off. “Kuro-san and Ikari push me around and she bullies me and my dolls are all off being idiots and Yuu can’t hang out and I hate it I hate it I hate it!” She kicked the giant doll and hopped off swearing and gripping her foot.
“Hah!” Martha celebrated her hit, even as the bent metal of Riku’s nose opened up a long scratch on her forehead. She realized how open she was to counterattack too late, and would have been smashed directly in the temple of Ikari hadn’t interfered. “Hey, we weren’t done!” Martha yelled before realizing it was Ikari she was talking to. “Aw, guests… tell me I have time for a shower at least.” Martha darted over to the towels and wiped herself off as best she could, but she still felt sticky.
“Ikari means enemies, Martha.” Yuu knelt by Jane and fathered up the balloons she had filled. “Good work Jane. I want you to stay with Josefina, okay? If anything goes wrong, she can protect you.” She ruffled the tiny doll’s hair and stood, placing the balloons in her bag. She was about to go when Jane tugged on her pantsleg. "Who's that?" Jane whispered, looking terrified at the presence of Z. "Don't worry about him. We're leaving right now." She pat her on the head again and turned to Ikari. “I’m ready.” She told Ikari before noticing Martha’s injuries and the strong scent of mint coming off of her.
“Oh, Martha… she really could use a shower and some… repairs.” Yuu sighed, examining the wounds. The cut was easy enough to seal, and since the dolls didn’t bleed, she wasn’t at any risk from it anyway, but the nose was a problem. Perhaps she could replace the cartilage with some steel from the pipes Sidney had worked on? "If we don't have time, I'll simply have to patch you up with healing balm." Yuu tapped the tub of cream in her bag.

“...you got signed up…?” Cadence asked, face remaining blank but internally distrusting the ex-paladin. She made mental notes of the strange prison, the strange geometry likely a result of spells that made space overlap on itself depending on where one enters an area from. Her annoyance was then furthered when she saw the spider-like form of Sankumo, further reminding her of Marika. If Marika was here...could these be somehow relatives of her’s? And why was the ‘kumo’ word so prevalent? Shirokumo, Sankumo, Ginkumo...was it a family name?
Seeing the strange behavior of Sankumo, Cadence waited until everybody filed out before walking next to Callis, lowering her voice. “Yes...he was nervous...how about you use your...super hearing and...make sure he’s still being...cooperative…?” Cadence asked. The strange way everyone filed out of the room concerned Cadence. She walked toward the door where the guards had exited from and tried to open it. If the door opened, she would simply peer down each end of the hallway and take her time getting back inside. If the door didn’t open, she would look at the other, motioning toward the locked door. If they were going to betray the group, it wasn’t out of the question that this room had some sort of explosive or gas-inlet that the guards didn’t want to suffer through themselves.
---
"You know Frosty, I don't tend to break into prisons very often. Why do you sound so experienced?!” She said half-jokingly to Arthur moments before they were shot into the sky. Haruko clung to her seat for dear life. She wanted to ask why they were suddenly veering off course, but the momentum prevented her from talking for now. When they finally crashed into the room, Haruko slowly released her grip upon the seat, the deep indents beginning to expand back out.
With the combination of disorientation from the ‘ride’ and the surreal image of the mound of corpses in front of her, it took a few seconds for Haruko to process what was going on. She shot a glare at Arthur when he tried to slip by the black knight. “You’re just going to walk away?!” Haruko called over to him, annoyance clear in her voice. The seamstress them turned toward the knight. “Who are you and why did you kill all these people?! You don’t look like a government agent, and I doubt they execute people on this scale. So who are you?!” She yelled at the knight. Seeing this amount of death was new to Haruko, as she was a seamstress primarily. Not many people died when dealing with her profession. The occasional bounty hunting mission she took didn’t result in half this amount of casualties. Haruko saw Dan gasping for air and briefly looked toward the fighter. “Are you alright, Dan?” The seamstress asked. She stood firm against the knight, reaching into her coat and readying 3 explosive knives if the gunslinger decided to attack them.

The insults Sakka continued to throw at Marika enraged Miles even further, his grip on the knife tightening when Aoi showed up. When Sakka commanded him to ‘show them who I am’, Miles focused his mana above the group and bright red petals began to scatter in a beautiful whirlwind. He struggled against the enhanced gravity, eyes wild with rage directed at Sakka and Aoi. “If this...if you...this is who I-” Miles’s sentence was cut off when Urnas appeared and slashed Aoi in half, spraying black liquid across the floor.
The brief shock Miles had as he processed the situation gave Sakka enough time to sprint away, a dark, hateful glare directed at her exit from Miles. He was going to end her...slowly...deliberately...he would not give her the courtesy of a death before skinning her like a dog. Perhaps he could make a nice rug to go around the toilet from her rotten flesh. With one wave of his hands, the red petals disappeared into a small shower of sparks.
The incubus then turned his attention to Urnas, giving a nod in his direction. “Yes...thank you.” The idea that a strange being was always watching them was an issue itself, but it was also nice to have someone around that apparently had the authority to drive away annoying pests. When he heard Marika began to break down, Miles dashed over to her and wrapped Marika in a tight hug. His positioning was deliberate; trap her arms upward so she couldn’t reach down to get more scissors, or hurt him with her nails. His mouth whispered into her right ear. “It’s ok, Marika...I’m here.” He lightly pet her hair with his left hand. “You are almost done with this job, and once you’re done...think of all the dream projects you could make. Just a little longer, ok?” He said, giving the spider seamstress a warm smile.
While he did want Marika to calm down...the satisfaction of being able to do this without Yuu around made his smile more genuine. It was nice to see that worthless doll away, letting him get closer to Marika without her interfering. Perhaps he could convince that vampire to take Yuu away and ‘accidently’ drain any life force out of her. The idea made Miles’s smile just a tiny bit wider.

Despite of the little expressiveness in Cadence’s face, the Driaochta understood that she was not convinced of his words. He couldn’t blame her, as strange as it sounded it was true, it also gave him a bad thorn, being surprisingly hired without any explanation except for Lucille, it seemed like a barely constructed situacion in an Amateur’s first book.
Vladimir nodded at Stephan's words - Routine can become an habit and habits are difficult to modify so suddenly
The man tried his best to use his Irish accent, after that incident at the beginning of the mission, he tried to avoid using british accents in order to don’t sound too arrogant or pedant. Even so, the group looked pretty handly by the moment, despite of their differences. Observing the place, his face made a worried frown ... Tatami... No matter how elegant it was, The Tatami was always the worst floor to step on, extremely delicate, it easily stains and once it is ruined, its over.
The ex-paladin approached the group, to whisper - We should continue with the Cadence’s suggestion, maybe we could put any kind of inconvenience beforehand...
Noticing that the girl had approached the door, Vladimir tried to call her with a soft whisper, it would be alarming if both yokais came back and found the group trying to peek through the door

-I was not given much information about what we could encounter here.- Callis admitted. -Only that we should check the place for anything out of place or not belonging to the prison.- The Beast Knight took a pad from inside his coat and gave it to Akane. -This is a list containing the names of every prisoner in the maximum security wing.- His finger glided over the screen pointing out several columns. -The cells are numbered, so we will know if anybody is missing.- The list contained several dozen names, the ones currently in the screen read:
#2213: Quan - Homicide - Illegal HW Activities #2214: #2215: Akai Yugure - Espionage - Illegal HW Activities #2216: Goro Yamanaka - Homidice - Illegal HW Activities - Illegal Dueling #2217: Akuto Akunin - Conspiracy - Illegal HW Activities - Clan Killer #2218: Beatrix Malleviant - Conspiracy - Illegal HW Activities - Extradition pending. #2219: #2220: Takamaru Washiyama - Conspiracy - Homicide - Illegal HW Activities.
While anybody interested checked the list Callis heard Cadence request. -I do not have super hearing.- He commented. -My hearing is just slightly better than average.- The Beast Knight excessive humility obfuscated the facts, as his sense of hearing could actually be considered “super”. Callis got closer to the door Sankumo used and couldn’t hear a thing, as if something was blocking the sound. Cadence wouldn’t be able to open the door they used to enter the room, as it was jammed with something. The Beast Knight noticed that and his whole demeanor shifted. -Akane, I think they trapped us here.- He pointed at both doors. -Try helping h... try helping Messa Cadence.- He homed on Vladimir. -You guard them Mes Kearney.- Callis eyes finally found Stephan. -Mes Walters, if you could be so kind, could you back me up while I attempt to open the door?-
Callis pulled out one of his blades and wedged it into the small opening of the sliding door, trying to pry it open but finding resistance, as if something glued the door in place. -Jammed.- He muttered. -Any luck Akane?- His tone constantly shifted from formal to informal when talking to the Musashi Heiress. If Akane managed to open the door she would find the doorway blocked by a springy and strong white substance, creating a blockade.
-Everyone calm the fuck down.- Gen, for a change, tried to be the voice of reason. Rin already had her bow ready to shoot. -Rin that goes for ya too.- She nodded but didn’t lower her weapon. -Are ya a fuckin’ prison guard?- Gen asked, not lowering his guard. The Armored Man shrugged and shook his head, gesturing with his free hand at the piles of corpses as if he was saying “What do you think?” He slowly stood up from his makeshift corpse throne as he reloaded his gun with care. He opened the twin barreled revolver and spun the double chambers, pulling out the spent cartridges and reloading more, blue bullets in one side and red bullets on the other. He spun the weapon a couple of times and holstered on a hidden compartment that opened on his armored thigh. Twin jets of smoke came out from the sides of his helmet as the pieces started to open up, revealing a man with sharp factions, pale skin, black hair, and heterochromatic eyes, one was blue and the other was red, shining eerily, clearly not natural.
He removed the helmet, that collapsed into a much smaller object as if every metallic band compressed. The man let out a sigh of relief. -Bloody hell, I needed to breath actual air for a change.- He stretched his neck popping his bones in the process. -This armor looks bloody cool, but the wanker who made it thinks it was funny to remove the audio functions.- He extended his hands towards Arthur, who seemed to be the only one willing to talk. -Pleased to meet you mate, my name is Falken Degiraz and I would gladly look the other way while you do your stuff.- He smiled, without a hint of actual joy, more like a Shark looking at a school of fish. He scanned the group stopping on Gen. -I think I met you, but I can’t place you, mate…- Gen also looked at the Cyborg Mercenary with a semblance of remembrance. -Hmmm... I also seem to fuckin’ remember ya, but I ain’t gettin’ yer name.- Both sized the other up. Rin, still ready to shoot, asked. -So what’re you doing here, apart from killing every inmate?- Falken looked at her, he smiled and then shushed her. -Sorry love, professional confidenciality.-
His red eye scanned them again, checking their equipment and energy signatures. -I really wouldn’t want to bother you mates.- He scratched the back of his head. -So let’s split here, I’ve gotta go do my thing and I bet you aren’t here for the same thing.- He extended his hand towards Gen. -Deal?- The Hot-Blooded Boxer waited, he wanted to know the opinions of the rest of the group. He also wanted to get some time to remember who the hell this guy was. He really couldn’t place where he saw him before. Rin got closer to Haruko. -I don’t like this.- She whispered. Goemon, who was the only one who didn't leave the pod, was puking his guts out. -This reminds me of that scene in... HYUK- And he kept puking interrupting his nostalgic moment.
If Riku noticed Z’s killing intent, he didn’t show it. Currently, the Iron Clad Boxer could rarely feel anything, no pain, no tiredness. Ikari noticed the surge of killing intent, but didn’t care, he didn’t have the time for this kind of shit. -You can use the Maximum Security Wing barracks to clean and fix her up, there is a first aid kit there.- Ikari growled to Yuu, vexed by her concern for her sister. The Agent of Hatred lead the way, still dressed with the same worn out tuxedo he used. Soon they would reach the staircase and prepare for the incoming intruders. He was getting information from the trio of scientists, who implanted a small chip right behind his ear, feeding him data and messages sent directly to his brain, like tech-based telepathy. He knew about Sankumo and Ginkumo blocking the doors and stalling the group lead by Callis. -Her “friends” are giving us some time, so let’s take advantage of it and set up as many traps as we can.-
He glanced at Yuu over his shoulder. -Send one of your girls to free the prisoner in the cell 2213.- Ikari smiled. -Tell him that if he takes out the intruders I’m getting him out tomorrow.-

Akane looked at the list, a name or two ringed a bell, but she had never encountered them at all, most predated her HW activity as the slayer of the clan, and she dealt with beasts and monsters 90% of the time anyway. She strolled around as Callis tinkered with the door, but his statement immediately made her raise a brow.
"You think?" she walked stridently to where Cadence was and spoke to the doll as she readied a stance.
"Step back, please"
Akane was a lot less subtle than Callis on her attempt to open the door, with one swift move she sliced twice at the door which unsurprisingly was held together by the substance. Akane had come to trust most half-humans as the time with Callis had made her more open-minded, but Ginkumo and Sankumo almost made her regret that decision.
"This is bad, we don't know who we are up against"
Akane wanted to retreat, whoever trapped them had both intel and terrain advantage, but knowing Callis, he would now want to know who's behind all this. She returned to Callis' side as she sheathed her blade.
"What do we do? should we cut our way through or look for an alternate path? I assume you won't retreat now, will you?"
The collector did not enjoy petty schemes, he was a practical individual who rarely took time to set up something like a trap. Still, he did not see Ikari as someone dumb, on the contrary, he knew exactly how to get things done. Perhaps this was just so that he did not have to move a finger, or maybe, the targets were stronger than he thought?. If he had time to kill, then perhaps the Gainen user could let him know a little more about who were they hunting. after all, only he was equipped with the device that provided any sort of Intel updates.
"Ikari. What do you know about the targets? summarize it for me as we move to the staircase, ten words or less."
If Ikari wanted Z to do his job, he would have to cooperate, Z was a battery ram, not a schemer.

Arthur didn't introduce himself back. Just because he was trying not to provoke the killer didn't mean he wanted such a person to know who he is.
He turned to the group and spoke quietly enough for Falken not to hear him. "We're breaking into a super-prison to rescue Gen's master. We're gonna run into a lot of trouble as is, and this guy slaughtered a whole bunch of Hiddy criminals singlehandedly. I don't think we need him on our case now, too. Basically what I'm saying is, we came here to help Gen's master first, we can deal with the murderer afterwards." They were here for a reason and they didn't need to make their job any harder.
"Side note..." Arthur looked around the room for hats, badges or uniforms on the victims, "I don't see any guards among the bodies. Guns aren't known for being the quietest weapons, and when they're used for killing prisoners you'd expect prison security to step in. Something is wrong here and we need to keep our eyes wide open."

Stephan only recognized a few names on the list. Quan was well known as one of the most deadly martial artists the world over, and Akuto and Malleviant were involved in a high-profile incident involving the one Miyata who didn’t work for the HWIC. He turned when Cadence tugged at the door and it failed to move. “This mission was supposed to be boring.” He sighed as something green began to flow from his veins to cover his suit. It hardened into rubbery plates all over his body.
The last features were still manifesting as he approached the door. Red lenses formed from jelly over his eyes and orange blades sprang from his wrists and ankles, wicked daggers dripping with clear liquid. “People often blockade doors and then forget the walls around them.” He threw a spinning kick for the wall right beside the door with force that would crush concrete. It would be nice if he could will change, but the Nucleus only changed in response to danger.
Dan hesitated when Gen told the group to calm down. “But they-” He growled, still tense. Was Gen really going to let this slide? He grew increasingly incredulous when the man showed his face and began talking to the others. Dan retreated a few steps and tilted his head down towards Haruko. “I don’t like this.” He said. Everything about this man reminded him of Huntsman. His purpose here couldn’t possibly be wholesome, not if this was the path he took.
“You still have those electric knives, right?” He asked, eying the back of Falken’s head. A solid rabbit punch backed up by electric knives should put this guy down quick enough. Part of him craved a proper fight, but today there was pragmatism to be had. Somebody who killed this many people didn’t go down easily, and Dan wasn’t at max. “Should I tell them?” He looked down at him hands, but he was speaking to Haruko. Only she and Arthur knew. He was internally punching himself. He should have told them before they even set foot on that sphere.
“That would be excellent. You haven’t worn yourself out too much to fight, have you?” Yuu took a stern tone with the pale doll. “Nooooo. I could use food though.” Her stomach growled. “I’m sure there’s something in the barracks.” Yuu assured her before giving her attention to Ikari. “Freeing a prisoner…?” Yuu’s thoughts went first to who was available that would do a good job. She settled quickly on Robin. She didn’t quite trust her, but she could take care of herself much better than Chelsea. She would prefer Haven, but Haven was going on tour more and more often these days, likely to avoid them. She raised her phone to her head. “Robin? I could use your help. Just please only touch what you’re supposed to.”
Robin sprang through the hallways, bouncing off of walls and taking every staircase with a flying leap. Her speed was less than Martha’s, but with the agility of her explosive palms and soles, she took the prison’s hallways faster than Martha ever could. Her bag clattered and clacked with each turn, full of the seals used to unlock doors. She rushed now through the stone hallways of the maximum security wing of the prison. There was an oppressive feel here, near-black blocks of stone stacked like they were building a castle within the castle.
Instead of the paper charms elsewhere, symbols were carved right into the stone, making permanent protections. “2211, 2212, 2213!” Robin came to a stop and fished the proper seal from her bag. “Hey! The boss sent me. Said if you kill some intruders, you’re getting out tomorrow. How does that sound?” She called into the open entrance. She liked the invisible force fields that held the prisoners. Bars were so dehumanizing. Here you could just have a conversation with somebody. “Oh yes, and if you tell me where there’s good stuff to steal, I’ll share it with you.”

Just as I suspected...Cadence thought, taking a step back to let Akane and Stephen at the door. She made a mental note when Callis changed to address her more formally, and Vladimir’s trust in her original idea. While the old man’s trusting nature was a potential liability...it was nice to not have resistance to her own ideas. She glanced over to Akane, who had the list of criminals...but they were currently was busy speaking with Callis.
Walking over to Akane, Cadence looked up at the tall woman, holding her hand upward. “...may I see that…?” She asked, pointing toward the screen. While she waited, Cadence began to grow several thin vines from her left arm, letting them spread across the floor and slowly grow larger in size. It was unfortunate that this building was about as far away from plantlife as one could be...so she needed to rely purely on plants she grows out of her own body. If Stephen’s attack failed, Cadence would move several of her vines around the room, each having tiny white fiber feelers along the bottom.
“...I can’t control the wood on the walls...so there is something wrong...given the charms on that casket and walls outside…” There was a loud crash across the room, one of the bookcases having been pulled down. “...there must be charms inside...help me find them...if you want…or keep bashing away at the door…” Walking around the room, Cadence continued to topple bookcases, looking for any charm that may be hidden behind.
---
The casualness by which Falken addressed the group made Haruko’s frown deepen. How was he so nonchalant committing mass murder?! She nodded her head when Rin approached her, putting her hand in front of her mouth so the man couldn’t read her lips as she whispered to Rin. “I don’t like this at all. Just look at what he did!” Haruko said, frustrated at the situation. Their objective here was to get to Gen’s master...so starting a fight this early on after they busted through the ceiling would likely keep them held up long enough for prison guards to arrive.
At the thought of prison guards arriving, images began to flash through Haruko’s mind. If she were to be captured, a Miyata would be revealed to be a criminal. Aria would probably try to negotiate with the JHWAB, though given their relationship, it was possible she would just write Haruko off entirely. Kate and Cosmina would be stuck without her for a long time, even if Leone comes to take care of them. Glaring at Falken, Haruko briefly missed having Yamiko to fall back on...having that monster would have given plausible deniability for her own actions.
Giving a long sigh, Haruko whispered to Rin again, hand still in front of her mouth. “...but I think now’s not the time to fight someone.” She shook her head at Dan, indicating he shouldn’t tell them anything yet. “So that’s my thoughts…” Haruko leaned over to Dan, glaring at Arthur and putting her hand in front of her mouth again. “...remind me to yell at Frosty after this maniac leaves. He was just...incredibly stupid right there.” She whispered to Dan. Why would he just say their plan out loud?!

The ex-paladin listened to Cadence’s words. It was true; a charm must be there to prevent magic from causing real damage.
With a swing of his hand, an air stream appeared inside the room making the books fall down and with his other hand he made them levitate as he shacked them a bit hoping for something to fall down from them.
His next suggestion was the tatami, he warned everyone to don’t step on it as he did the same spell again. Looking for the charm to be under them, the man noticed something.
Wait… Mrs Ginkumo and Mr Sankumo are like… You..kais? – He said a bit embarrassed, he never got a chance to completely learn about Japanese culture and their hidden world creatures – So what must be in both doors is spider web… Mr. Stephan, is your power some kind of acid? Or… something that can burn the web? I’m deeply sorry for not being able to do it myself, fire is not my element… - Honestly, he could do it but he didn't want to get injured just like some time ago when he got summoned in a mission for the Cromwell corporation...

-No, we cannot leave.- Callis replied to Akane’s inquiry. -Something is wrong here and we will not leave until we find out what it is.- The Beast Knight went from calm to alert in a second, with very faint light ignited behind his pale blue eyes. As he scanned the area he witnessed how Akane’s blade only managed to cut a very shallow incision on the springy spider web, that seemingly robbed her attack from any kind of momentum, sending the kinetic it towards the doorway and the walls that shook after the attack. Stephan’s kick was equally useless as even with his enhanced armor his attack bounced off, even less effective than the sharp katana carried by Akane. Then it was Cadence turn and she started to turn the whole place upside down. For a second Callis had the hint of a frown, dislike how easily she turned to chaos, but he soon realized she was right, JHWAB relied a lot on Omnyo and he had worked a lot with Norio, who was a practitioner of the art, it made sense to find the charms. -Good idea C… Messa Cadence.- Once again Callis kept his manners and used his formal tone, even if he wasn’t 100% sure about her. The Beast Knight went to the opposite wall and dropped several bookcases, finding nothing.
Thankfully for the group, it didn’t take long for Vladimir to start lifting the tatami and after the second panel, he found several charms. He ripped the panel out from the floor, as the edges were glued to the others by the charms, seemingly his innate magical ability disrupted the flow of the Omnyo Magic just through contact, as usual, Western and Eastern schools didn’t mix. A loud cracking sound, like dozen windows exploding at the same time, surrounded them, as the barrier protecting the walls, ceiling and floor vanished, leaving small blue specks of light that quickly faded. The effect was noticeable as the anchoring points for the spiderweb started to crack and crumble, as if the tension of the substance was too much for simple wood to take, without the advantage of magical reinforcement. Callis, noticing his thanks to his uncanny hearing quickly pointed at the walls, beside the doorways. -Destroy the walls and subdue whoever is close by!- He pulled his swords and readied himself to dash through the first hole any of the others created.
Falken had to fight to contain his smirk. It was so cute they thought they could stop him from listening in to his conversation by whispering. One of the many advantages his Cyborg Body had were enhanced senses. -I’ll take your word for it.- The Psycho Cyborg bluntly replied to their worries. -And for the record, everyone here decided to attack me, I was bloody defending myself.- That was almost the truth, once he entered the area he discovered most of the cells were already open and the prisoners had been living in relative peace, more like a community than criminals. He didn’t like their looks so he shot them. Hopefully, he would leave before this bunch of do-gooders realized what was wrong with the prison. Falken smirked as he turned around. -Good luck with whatever you’re doing, I gotta go, time is bleeding money.- He had to reach the Research Wing to obtain an item, something about a Dimensional Beacon.
He was kind of unsure of taking the job, since the last time he entered a place with “Dimensional” on the name he had a very bad day. Even after almost 2 years, he was still processing all the information. Gen, still glaring at Falken, turned his head back and whispered to Rin. -Don’t lower your arrow until he’s out of sight.- She nodded, readjusting her aim while Falken vanished through one of the side doors. Gen did a full turn. -I don’t know who the fuck that guy was, but as much as it fuckin’ bothers me to say it, it wasn’t the time for a fight.- Rin chortled and Gen glared at her. -And this ain’t time for jokes Rin.- The Youngest Shishioh smiled. -Really? But you just told a killer one.- Gen turned his head to the side, closing his eyes and letting jets of air come out from his nose, frustrated by Rin not taking the whole thing seriously. -Okay… I bet they’re keepin’ my master in the middle of the structure, the Maximum Security Wing.- The Hotblooded Boxer rummaged inside his vest and took out a makeshift map of the prison, made of dozens of posts it, papers and other places, forming a jigsaw of prison. -It took a while to get this together, but if we take that side door.- He pointed at one of the doors in the opposite extreme to the one Falken took. -We might reach the Maximum Security wing in no fuckin’ time.-
Gen put the map away and scanned the group. -Everyone ready? Do we need to fuckin’ discuss somethin’?-
The force field was still on as a man, a very old man, came out from the shadows of the cell. His hair and beard were long and unkempt, hanging over his back and chest. His eyes were of a black deeper than a moonless night. He was dressed in the prison uniform, black traditional Japanese clothing. His fingers were unusually long and developed. If Robin checked the inside of the cell she would discover that one of the walls had very faint indentations as if something had pierced it. The man first bowed pressing his fist to his palm and then proceeded to lift up his beard revealing a large scar crossing over his neck. He let his beard down again. His closed fist rose up to this chin, resting his finger on it. Then slowly he raised the fist, backhand facing Robin, and covered his mouth. Quan was using sign language to transmit he couldn’t talk. He then proceeded to point at the charm, then the wall and finally himself, nodding, as if he was accepting the proposal. He even used sign language again, pushing his closed fist against his palm and extending to fingers to form the arms of the letter K, transmitting “Ok”
As the walked down the stairs, Ikari who was leading the pack, decided to accept Z’s challenge. -I faced some of them and I only know others through intel.- He passed a digital pad to the Alien Collector, showcasing the members of the JHWAB team, fed by the Scientist Trio handling communications and Intel. -Vladimir Kearney, European Mercenary, mystical persuasion, not much else. Threat Level Mid- The next profile appeared. -Stephan Walters, HWIC Agent, bio-organic suit, veteran, and skilled. Threat Level Mid- The next one appeared. -Akane Musashi, heiress to the Musashi Clan, Monster Hunter, decent swordsman. Threat Level High- Next one. -Callis Nomene.- A flicker of purple flames surrounded Ikari for a moment before he kept talking. -A drifter from another world, warrior and pain in the ass. Threat Level High. He is my target.- Finally, the screen blinked again and a picture of Jose Hernandez appeared, but it was followed by a loud buzzer. A red cross appeared over it and a digitalized voice of Dr. Kago exclaimed: “Replaced, Replaced.” Ikari turned around picking the tablet and seeing the image change. -Interesting.-
The Avatar of Hatred walked forward, finally reaching the entrance to the Guards barrack and blocking it. He glanced at the group and talked as loudly as possible, so everyone heard him. -Finally, the last member, replacing Jose Hernandez…- He turned the tablet around, displaying the image, recently taken, of Cadence, to the group. -Cadence Arachne, plant manipulation and ownership of a Gainen Medal. Threat Level Max- Ikari opened the door by kicking it with his heel, without looking at it. -Get in people, we’ve much to plan and I hate not being prepared.- With that, he entered the room, not before lobbing the tablet at Yuu while chuckling. The photo of Cadence, recently arrived at the prison, walking alongside the others, was still frozen in the screen, looking at Yuu and Martha with equally cold eyes.

"Just what I expected, let's get to the bottom of this, Captain♥"- she said with a cheerful smile, not really worried, as the life and death situations seemed to keep piling on her life to the moment they were routine.
Akane turned around only to see Cadence in action. The charms were indeed something she was not expecting to find, maybe she was all too used to her sister's technology over the magic the JHWAB used? she slightly smiled for a second at Cadence, The Musashi heiress was fond of people who could actually get things done.
As she listened to her boyfriend's command, Akane nodded at him and readied her stance, a blindingly fast barrage of attacks followed as the Musashi cut open a hole, making enough space for one at a time.
"Go!"-She declared, waiting for at least a couple to go through.
Z scrolled through the targets, his eyes sharpened through the bone mask the moment the collector saw Akane. He patiently waited for the info to update just to see if something even better came out, but the result was disappointing.
"A Gainen medal? unappealing. You may keep the drifter, Ikari, but the so-called Musashi is mine."
The collector drew an inch out of his katana with his left thumb, slightly exposing the Adamantite metal it was made out of.
"This will be a hunt to remember..."
As Ikari ordered them to get in, Z looked at Yuu one more time, his cold hand reached for her shoulder as she watched Cadence's picture. If Ikari was gonna go after the drifter and the Collector after Musashi, that left the max level threat alone.
"I hope you can take care of the Gainen trash. After all, Ikari and I have plenty to do as it is"
He turned around and went through the door. He seemed to comply a lot more now that a real target was at hand.

Arthur didn't entirely buy Falken's excuse. Then again, they were in a prison presumably filled with violent criminals... Still, something didn't feel right about it. How did they get out to be able to attack him first anyway? Well, it doesn't matter right now. Haruko agreed with Arthur and Gen ended up deciding the fight wasn't worth it at this time. Maybe later...
"Not as far as I'm aware," Arthur answered Gen's question. "Maybe we should hurry up and get out of here though. Our movie superstar doesn't look too good."
The ice mage walked over to Goemon and put a hand on his back. "Need a tissue?" He pulled out a pack of them out of thin air (you never know when you could run into a kid with a runny nose). "I'd offer water, but I'd have to melt some ice and I don't have a container. Maybe you can suck on some, but suggesting that makes me feel weird."

A small feeling of satisfaction crept into Cadence's mind when she saw Vlad and Callis joining her in searching for the charms. While she did appreciate getting out of here faster...it called into question how effective this team will be going forward. They attacked the most obvious point of exit...the point the enemy would have logically barricaded the most. Shouldn't their 'fearless leader' thought up a better strategy than trying to attack the door head on?
She watched silently as the barrier disappeared around them, letting the others destroy the wall while she walked over to the door where Sankumo went into. She tried to pull open the door, but it appeared to be stuck from the other side, even after she tried to move the wood inside the door. "...hm..." Cadence hummed to herself, putting her pipe to her lips. Seeing how everyone had sprung into action, Cadence decided to hang back, continuing to grow vines along the ground that began to move toward the door. Whatever was past that door...she wanted enough distance to keep it away from herself.
---
The battle seamstress watched as Falken left the room, making sure he was long gone before turning to the rest of the group. Her eyes widened slightly when Gen pulled out a map. "How did you...nevermind." It wasn't the time to be asking those questions. She was already doubting that the man was actually 'just defending himself' here. Why would prisoners be out of their cells?! Then again...where were all the guards? Surely they must have heard that man shooting all the prisoners! Did he manage to kill them too? Just...what was going on with this prison?
Nodding toward Gen, Haruko began to speak. "No discussion needed from me, just lead the way. You wouldn't want me directing, trust me." Haruko said, knowing her horrible sense of direction. Frowning, she began to walk toward Arthur and formed a fist, raising it up and lightly bringing it down on top of Arthur's head. "Arthur...you said our plan out loud! Are you crazy?! He might have super hearing or something!" She exclaimed, noticing Goemon's predicament and clasping her hands together.
"Oh, sorry for not noticing your situation. Are you ok?" Haruko asked, tilting her head slightly.
