"Great, now he's got me talking to the monsters." Onyx cast a glare at Callis before taking off. His short legs couldn't carry him fast enough and the wave caught him. He went under in a glittering sea. It was a second before he angrily shoved out, spraying coins everywhere. Onyx snarled and spat metal that had landed in his mouth. His taste for gold was not literal. His hand went to the helmet on his head, uselessly jammed between his horns and frill. With an expert arm, he threw it spinning at the dragon's eye. He immediately followed up with another threw, this one with much more heft. His oversized sword went spinning up at the dragon's neck with a noise like a helicopter. He only hesitated a moment before hiding behind his shield again. Why am I drawing her attention!?

Akane followed right after Callis, the wave of gold splashing against Onyx, she knew he was a tough guy, so of course, he would get up from that, she had to block some of the gold projectiles with her gauntlets, as there were too many of them.
right after the wave ceded Musashi would look at the projectile sent by Onyx and there realize she had to act now
"Callis, same thing as in Mikurajima, together!"
Akane counted on the dragon not having a regen as impressive as the cursed blade if any. Musashi would take advantage of the helmet so that the dragon's vision would be blocked. even if it were nimble, having its sight blocked would surely impair her.
depending on where the dragon moved, Akane would attack at the point easier to collapse, not only were Callis and Akane stronger now, they also were a lot more in sync. Musashi jumped mid-air as she activated her kit, Incredible speed and further power fueled her technique, breaking any timing the dragon could hope to have, as Akane moved at 100 times her normal speed for a single second.

Callis ran as fast as he could, easily outpacing the golden tsunami and bouncing on the wall to jump over it. He was light as a feather, spinning gracefully a couple of times mid-air to increase his hangtime before landing. He didn’t want to fight, but he didn’t have a choice. -Understood!- He replied to Akane, but he wouldn’t be able to do exactly the same, considering he wasn’t using two blades. He would have to improvise. Akane managed to hit first, drawing the first blood in the battle, creating a perfect triangle. She was moving faster than Onyx, so her attack arrived first, as the Dwarf had to pick himself up from the gold and throw his helmet and then his blade. Akane’s charge synced up with the helmet hitting the yellow eye of the Maw of Iron. The helmet was more painful than damaging, making Gapjärn snap her neck back roaring in pain. That pain distracted her from the Musashi Heiress offensive. With amazing ease, she drew three green lines over the scaly exterior of the Mighty Wyrm. Callis, who was right behind her jumped and started spinning, gaining more and more momentum thanks to his agility and the weight of the halberd, landing a single very heavy blow right in the center of the area marked by Akane’s attack. “That’s how you do it kitty-cat, you put your weight behind it, like a real man” The voice of his past echoed in his mind, as he released his grip on the weapon and used his legs to bounce off from it, gaining some distance while scanning the area for more weapons. Onyx sword flew meters past Callis, being dodged by the rampaging drake, as she was moving her neck too much for it to be a proper target. Gapjärn glared at them with a single furious eye, opening her iron covered jaws and launched a jet of corrosive liquid in a semicircle, starting by aiming Callis, lowering and then whipping her neck to get both Akane and Onyx in the line of fire. This liquid was harmful to organic matter, with no effect on minerals. -Akane, dodge!- Callis shouted, more worried for her than for himself.

Onyx peeked around his shield and immediately withdrew when he saw the dragon's massive skull pivoting. He slammed his shield into the ground, planting the edge a few inches deep in the stone. The acid splashed and sloshed on the shield, only a few drops flicking overhead. His scales steamed and burned away where he was struck by these droplets and he hissed. He had muscle showing in a patch with the radius of a baseball right on his shoulder. She was absurdly different from his father. That acid attack especially was bizarre, but it suggested something to him. She wouldn't be immune to fire. As the acid tide receded, Onyx retracted his shield again and stood. He sucked a deep breath into his oversized lungs and a crackling sound touched the air. The next second, flames came pouring from his mouth, as blue as lapis lazuli. Coins melted in its path, the temperature soaring as far away as where Callis and Akane stood.
His hands were out, fingers hooked, and one finger gestured. His sword came flying back for his hand, taking a path to strike the dragon's horns on its way back. Finally the fire dimmed to mere sparks coming from Onyx's mouth as he spoke. "I didn't come here to kill a creature who has done no wrong that I know of. That toasting was a warning. The shiny guy talks too much, but I don't want to fight either." His heart was pounding so loud he could barely hear himself speak. If I kill her I get her hoard. His sword hand clenched involuntarily, making his blade waver. The thought was unbidden and quickly banished, but he would hear it again, in many permutations.

Akane backflipped into the air as the liquid sprayed at them, some of it touched her boots and legs, as well as her blades, but nothing happened. The virtual machine was a tight seal, so the liquid drained out of her armor rather quickly.
"I'm ok, don't worry, it seems the liquid cannot get through my armor"- she replied to Callis as she looked at the corrosive material drip.
Musashi looked at the state of her blades, apparently, the corrosive blood only affected the organic material, so she knew she was the worst opponent for that dragon as her virtual machine covered her from head to toe. Akane swapped her standard blades for her Kaneshige and Yoshihara blades, confident she could use them to their full potential. she listened to Onyx's words of mercy, but that was something foreign to the vocabulary of Niten Ichi-Ryu. To Akane, such a thing would be dishonorable.
"I shall fight you until one of us dies. If that's your wish I shall do my best out of respect"
Akane positioned herself with an aggressive attack stance, waiting for the reply of the dragon, this would be the last time she would give her time to change her mind, if her wish was to die at the hands of a knight, she would fulfill that dream.

Callis spun mid-air, still floating thanks to his newfound powers, leaving behind him a trail of ghostly white feathers. The green liquid sprayed below him, hitting the wall behind him and splashing. A couple of droplets managed to find their way to the Beast Knight face. It felt like his cheek was getting punctured. He crash-landed, failing to find balance through the pain and swept his face with his sleeve, thankfully it didn’t manage to get through, just being a superficial burn, leaving two pretty nasty green marks. Callis winced, taking his hands towards the wound and looking at the dragon with burning eyes. He could feel the voice of his instinct on the back on his head, like a distant growl. “She hurt you, you gave her a chance, now you pay her with the same coin” Callis shook his head, pushing the suggestion away. But the more he thought about it, the more his brain tried to assail the problem in front of him, the more he considered violence, the only answer.
“Stop thinking like a nobleman and get your hands dirty for once!” Her voice echoed once again in Callis’ mind, as he looked for a weapon among the hoard. While he did that the fight continued. Onyx’s flames hit the hind leg of Gapjärn, causing another scream of pain to blast out her throat. It hurt her, but the burns were superficial, just scalded scales, turning black and losing their shininess, as if the heat robbed them from any humidity, drying them up. The Dwarven Breath Weapon might not have caused a ton of damage, but it surely created a softer spot to strike for the others. The Maw of Iron was not impressed by it and barely paid attention to Onyx, even after his blade chipped a piece of her horn while returning to the dwarf. Akane was another story altogether. Gapjärn focused on the Musashi Heiress. She cut an impressive figure, covered head to toe in armor and carrying two blades finer than anything on her hoard. The Maw of Iron nodded pleased about this development.
𝔗𝔥𝔦𝔰 𝔦𝔰 𝔴𝔥𝔞𝔱 ℑ 𝔴𝔞𝔰 𝔴𝔞𝔦𝔱𝔦𝔫𝔤 𝔣𝔬𝔯!
𝔄 𝔟𝔞𝔱𝔱𝔩𝔢 𝔩𝔦𝔨𝔢 𝔱𝔥𝔢 𝔬𝔫𝔢𝔰 𝔰𝔲𝔫𝔤 𝔞𝔟𝔬𝔲𝔱 𝔦𝔫 𝔩𝔢𝔤𝔢𝔫𝔡𝔰!
ℑ𝔰 𝔱𝔯𝔲𝔢 𝔴𝔥𝔞𝔱 𝔱𝔥𝔢𝔶 𝔰𝔞𝔶, 𝔫𝔢𝔳𝔢𝔯 𝔪𝔞𝔨𝔢 𝔞 𝔪𝔞𝔫 𝔡𝔬 𝔞 𝔴𝔬𝔪𝔞𝔫'𝔰 𝔧𝔬𝔟!
Gapjärn approved of Akane’s proposal and charged towards her, with bloodlust on her eyes. But still, it didn’t feel like she wanted to kill the Musashi Heiress. The Maw of Iron’s offensive started with her launching both of her front claws towards Akane’s location, crossing them both over the Musashi Heiress while pouncing to increase her already impressive speed. The claws carried enough force to rend a tank into metallic ribbons. Callis, still shuffling through the hoard, looked at this situation with horror, realizing that if Akane died it would be his responsibility for bringing her with him. -AKANE!- He shouted while rushing towards her. Energy crackled around his hands, golden light emanating from his palms and sending a golden squall in her direction. This didn’t cause any damage, but instead reached the Musashi Heiress and granted her, the same blessing as Callis, making her body lighter and allowing her freedom of movement over difficult terrain. She would feel a strange warmness surrounding her.

Onyx growled when Gapjärn ignored him and continued to fight. "Yeah, that didn't work last time either." At least his instincts had proven right. A dragon without fire had less resistance to that element. He jumped on his shield and slid down the hill, coins smoothly carrying him faster than he could run. He came down at the dragon's flank and drew back his sword. Again a steaming hiss came from his mouth, preceeding a torrent of flames aimed at her tail. In the same moment, he threw his sword again. He couldn't land a lethal hit, but he could rid her of a weapon.

Under the armor, Akane smirked, it was the first time she heard such a thing, but she definitely liked it.
"Come!!" Musashi defiantly answered. The barrage of claw attacks crushed the ground as Akane sidestepped every time, but soon she noticed she was in over her head as the attacks became swifter. The heiress of Musashi jumped back, but one of the claw attacks grazed her shoulder, making her spin wildly from the force, her mangalloy armor still survived, but a full hit would have skewered her with ease.
"Arrrrghhh!!"- Akane slammed on the ground filled with gold coins, the strength difference was evident, as the dragon packed power beyond measure. the hit had been enough to disorient Musashi, she looked to the side still stunned by the graze, everything seemed to be moving in slow motion.
*Callis?* Musashi reacted as she saw him, she bolted back from the ground, avoiding yet another hit from the claws, it wasn't just the sight of the beast warrior what made her snap, knowing that if she died she would leave him alone against the creature, a part of Callis' power invigorated her as she became much more nimble.
*It seems my time is yet to come, Callis, you have saved me yet again*- Akane thought to herself, noticing the light had come from his ability. Akane looked back at Callis but without losing sight of the opponent. She now had to make up for it.
Still panting, Akane observed the dragon, Onyx had managed to burn some of the skin, so she knew that was the right spot to focus her attack. The nimbleness she felt uplifted her spirit, she was decided to end this fight.
Musashi dashed with uncanny swiftness, bypassing the claw attacks as she aimed for the burnt spot of the creature, she knew she wasnt the only threat to her, as Onyx too was attacking, so she would find the way to land the attack no matter what
*No fear, no hesitation, no surprise, no doubt.* -Akane rehearsed in her mind as she looked for the perfect opportunity.
*There!*
-Mushin X3-
"Niten Ichi-Ryu: Fujin no ha! 風神の刃"
The blade of the wind god was the swiftest of the named attacks under the style of Niten Ichi-Ryu, a piercing attack created by the quick rotation of blades focused on a single spot, designed originally to crumble the armor of a warrior, her blades met with the scales very much akin to it.
Enhanced not only by the Mushin skill but also by the power of the Beast Warrior, Akane moved at an inconceivable speed even if it were just for 3 seconds. Her increased agility allowed her to beautifully trace the technique, with an opponent that big, Akane truly aimed to pierce through the enemy like an arrow.

Gapjärn was mostly ignoring Onyx, she didn’t care about dwarves, her mother was always going on and on about respecting dwarves, but the Maw of Iron just saw them as sub-par fighters and she only cared about strong warriors. But even if her conscious mind couldn’t care less about the Dwarven Collector, her body reacted on its own. The millisecond the heat reached her scales, her slender, yet powerful tail, swung like a whip, aimed directly at Onyx’s body. These uncanny reflexes and split-second reactions were something that ran through her bloodline, as the “Deathbringer” was famed for keeping up with master swordsmen by fencing with her claws when she didn’t want to use her lethal breath. Gapjärn would take some damage from the fire, but nothing as serious as Onyx intended, just creating another soft spot on her fortified hide. The Maw of Iron had bigger issues though, as her focus was solely centered on Akane.
Frustrated by the lack of actual damage on her offensive, the Maw of Iron roared with frustration, as her claws sunk deep into her hoard, piercing the stone below it. This was more than enough for Akane to mount an offensive of her own, yet Gapjärn wouldn’t take it without attempting something. Her wing, leathery membrane framed by solid bone, crashed down towards the charging Akane, ready to crush the Musashi Heiress from above, making her sink into the hoard. Yet the Maw of Iron single minded pursuit of battle was once again her undoing. Like any being, no matter how magically charged, her body needed balance and drew strength from her stance, yet both her right hind leg, left front leg and her tail, very important tools for balance were damaged during the fight, thanks to Onyx’s flames and Callis and Akane joint attack. This slowed her down, but she also paid no mind to Callis and Onyx while fighting.
The Beast Knight, after discovering a new application for his power, decided to burn away his doubts and act. If attacking made him hesitate then he would only defend. As Akane prepared her attack, she wouldn’t be able to see the wing being prepared to strike from her position, as it was hidden behind the giant head and neck of Gapjärn. Callis, witnessing the battle from the side did notice and acted to protect Akane. The Beast Knight summoned his Ki, boosting his speed beyond his limits, as he rushed towards the Maw of Iron. “I need to move faster” His mind raced faster than his legs as he scanned the path towards the dragon. He saw a shield and stretched out to pick it, but a discordant chorus of ancient voices, different to the ones speaking before, instructed him. “You do not need the Shield, Child of the Wild, we will become your shield.” With confidence Callis ignored the magical shield and charged in, leaving a trail of gold coins being launched behind his feet.
With unmatched agility, while also breaking the speed of sound, Callis climbed the side of Gapjärn, running fast enough to keep traction on the scally exterior. Pushing further beyond his limits, knowing the importance of his actions and caring for Akane’s safety, he clocked over his record, pushing almost to the brink of Mach for a burst of speed. He jumped, floating in between Akane and the falling bladed wing. With all the air on his lungs, he roared, accompanied by the Ancestral Druids. -IMDEGAIL!- An old spell, one the celtic guardians of the Grail taught Percival and now Callis inherited. A golden construct of light appeared in front of Callis extended arms, a shield, with a mighty lion head in the center, unlike Percival’s that was covered in falcon feathers. The bladed wing clashed against and the sound echoed around with the clarity of a buddhist gong. Callis, pushed by the shockwave, fell right beside Akane’s path, smiling for a moment at her while she passed through. Gapjärn’s attack was repelled by the shield, that quickly vanished, allowing the Musashi Heiress a direct line to her target.
Akane crashed against the weakened right hind leg of Gapjärn. For a moment it seemed as if Onyx’s fire made the scales even harder, as they were fused together. But this increased durability also translated into brittleness, since they became rigid and lacked elasticity. Kaneshige and Yoshihara rent the flesh like the fangs of a hungry wolf, piercing through the muscle and touching bone. Such was the force of this attack, and such was the state of imbalance Gapjärn was experiencing, with three injured extremities, while performing a tail attack and having one attack violently parried, that Akane didn’t just pierce her leg, she pushed hard enough to force the mighty Wyrm, the Maw of Iron, to flip forward, as her legs were pushed backward and her tail, otherwise occupied, couldn’t help her to regain a proper stance. It was one brutal blow. One that finally made Gapjärn let out a pained scream, rather than an angry roar.

Onyx squaked when the dragon’s tail slashed across his chest, throwing him back into the coins. He snarled and stood again, blood dripping from the shallow slash in his scales. He was up just in time to see Callis’ lightshow. The clash, Akane’s instant follow-up. He had to admit, they worked well together. He was even more of a third wheel now. The dragon began to tilt and he twitched. Oh, great. Gapjärn’s shadow fell over him and he dove forward. The dragon barely missed landing on him and he took advantage of that proximity. “I claim this hoard and your life, Iron Maw!” The words came out without intent as he wheeled, sword feeding on his momentum to fly for the dragon’s unguarded stomach. It was a moment before he landed his mind cleared. “No! Return!” He held out his hand and the sword returned, but he may have been too late if it had reached his target.

Akane tried her best not to smile back under the armor, but a slight smirk appeared on her face nonetheless
*Showoff* She thought to herself still smiling. She had to admit, she was somewhat impressed by how smooth he had been on that one.
The roaring attack had worked as intended, The Iron Maw flipped from the damage, giving Akane some time regroup with Onyx and Callis as she sheathed her blades back, she sighed as she looked at the toppled dragon, she couldn't help but be proud of herself, though this too could have only been done with the help of Callis and the dwarf. Akane moved towards the beast warrior, stretching her arms upwards as her helmet dematerialized.
"Looks like we did it! It's always reassuring I can count on you..." Akane said with a cheerful smile, she held Callis' hands, seemingly inspecting where his powers had come from, though in reality she just wanted to feel his hands between hers again. she paused for a second as she let go of him in order not to make it awkward for them both.
I guess the dwarf deserves some credit as well. Anyway, let's get ready for-
Her conversation was suddenly interrupted by Onyx's loud claim.
Musashi couldn't help but feel some disgust towards the dwarf, claiming the horde, as well as its life when the dragon clearly wasn't trying its best to kill them, was tasteless. Boasting over a defeated opponent was disrespectful and vile in her philosophy.
Akane looked the other way, she knew the dragon wanted to die, but she still regretted she couldn't give her a far more honorable death, Onyx regretting his attack only made it worse for her.

Callis used Akane’s help to get up, after crashing into the hoard. The Beast Knight returned her smile with one of his own. -And I can always count on you, that was a very impressive attack, you need to teach me more about your style.- He felt her armored hand against his coarse skin and blushed. She released her grip a second before Callis himself was about to do it, both seeming a bit bashful about the situation. In the background Gapjärn winced, laid on her back and wings, green blood pouring out of her wound. One of her claws was hitting the wall on the side, tapping it in what seemed to be a disorganized and panicked pattern, as Onyx moved closer. Callis shook his head trying to push out the dizziness the mere proximity to Akane inspired on him and saw the Dwarven Collector actions while hearing his proclamation. -MES ONYX NO!- Callis shouted, trying to stop the Half-Dragon.
But it was too late, not only for his warning but also for Onyx regret. Yet the blade didn’t hit Gapjärn. The broad weapon smashed against the floor centimeters before reaching the Maw of Iron. Not because she dodged, or because the Dwarf managed to stop his greed induced coup de grace. The ground under them had cracked, a piece, the area in which Onyx was standing, sunk half a meter, making his swing fall short. Something had hit the ground from below, making the whole dome quake, no, the whole mountain trembled from the mighty impact beneath them. -What…- Another crash created more cracks in the ground. -is…- Callis braced himself, but the floor around him and the others were starting to fall apart. Rivers of gold and treasure falling through the holes like waterfalls of wealth. -going on?- The Beast Knight finished asking as a new smash, even stronger than the ones before, happened to smack dab in the middle of the hoard.
Something came out from below, it was sharp and black, very similar to Gapjärn’s horn, but much, much bigger. Callis started running towards the edge. -Move!- He shouted, as the floor collapsed below them, chunks falling while the center of the hoard was pushed upwards, by a massive figure. The Beast Knight jumped from piece to piece of this jigsaw of a floor trying to get beyond the abyss being uncovered by the newcomer. His light frame and unmatched agility facilitated his escape, using his claws to pierce the side of the dome, hanging over a massive hole in the ground, that dwarfed the dome with its immensity. And just the space below them was much bigger than the dome, the figure coming out from it was so freakishly huge it made Gapjärn look tiny in comparison. A huge draconic head peaked out from the hole, bigger than the Maw of Iron with a neck so thick there was no sword in the world capable of cleanly cutting it down. Dödsbringare, the Death Bringer, had been living below her daughter and was woken up from her slumber by Gapjärn desperate tapping on the wall, sending the echo to the chamber below.
Her scales were thicker and darker, lacking the yellowish tip and having a purple one instead. She had two pairs of horns, one shorter and facing forward, while the others were similar to her daughter’s. Her elongated snout was larger than a passenger plane and her fangs could tear asunder mountain peaks. She wasn’t a monster, she was a calamity, a natural disaster made flesh and bone. One of her eyes was milky white and blind, her other eye was a burning cauldron of purple fury. Just like her daughter, her fangs were covered in metal, yet her coating seemed to be more thoughtful and less makeshift, with some decorations carved into them, Dwarven Runes and other similar designs. Her clawed paws slowly appeared from the abyss below the dome grabbing the walls, piercing them with the same ease a hot knife goes through warm butter. A puff of mist came out from her immense nostrils, covering the whole room with a purple haze. Her mouth opened and a voice, impossibly loud, came out from the massive throat, echoing all over the place.
𝔚𝔥𝔞𝔱 𝔥𝔞𝔳𝔢 𝔶𝔬𝔲 𝔡𝔬𝔫𝔢 𝔱𝔬 𝔪𝔶 𝔡𝔞𝔲𝔤𝔥𝔱𝔢𝔯 𝔶𝔬𝔲 𝔦𝔪𝔭𝔲𝔡𝔢𝔫𝔱 𝔞𝔫𝔱𝔰?

Callis was left dumbstruck by the massive scale of the creature in front of him.

Onyx wobbled when the floor shook, falling over when his sword unexpectedly jumped into his palm. "Oh, damn. I knew this was a terrible idea." He glared at his ring, but it wasn't the ring's fault that he did that. It was like blaming the bottle for your car accident. Onyx was the one who chose to drink. Still, it was worth warning the others. "If I don't survive, leave this accursed thing here! It can't do damage in a dragon's lair!" He flashed the ring to Callis and Akane even as the world shook. His worst fears were surpassed by what emerged. He hadn't expected this. He had expected something like his father at the worst.
The ancient dwarf had been twisted into something twice the size of Gapjärn. This was not a mere doubling of size. The idea of measurement was cracked open and sucked of marrow by this creature. "Callis, find those swords! Once your pick them up, we are leaving!" Onyx charged for the massive reptile, sticking on her sighted side. The twins (common among dwarves) had put out his father's eyes.
It hadn't even slowed him down, memory and scent allowing him to hunt his children just as well as sight would have. Worse, he had seen how predators acted when something entered their blind sides. Even a beloved trainer could end up with a canine in their neck. Onyx would be smashed. A puff of breath ignited the blade of his sword and he sent it spinning for her gaping jaws. He couldn't hope to even choke her with his sword, but he could cause pain, distract her. Hopefully he would get his sword back at some point.

"What's the meaning of this?!!" Akane exclaimed as the floor collapsed, soon she would come to understand what in reality was going on, she moved alongside Callis, avoiding falling to her death.
The calamity, the death bringer stood before them, Musashi immediately understood coming here had been a grave mistake. her eyes widened as the creature spoke. how could something like this even exist?
Niten Ichi-Ryu was an art focused on analyzing the opponent, measuring his strength and rhythm. There was nothing that could measure this creature, it was beyond the scope of her ability, like staring into a bottomless well, not any different from powerful beings like Gods. Akane replied to the dragon as it threatened to kill them all
"This was the wish of your daughter! do not trample upon her determination!"
Akane knew the dragon was unlikely to believe that, if even listen, they had to prepare for the worst.
"This isn't something we can hope to defeat, Callis, Onyx, we need to leave now!"
Onyx charging and his plan made Akane snap, there was a line between bravery and stupidity and he had crossed it by a hundred miles right now. was he actually suicidal?!
"WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?!!" Akane exclaimed as she saw him move to the dragon's side, Akane quickly turned towards the beast warrior, there was only one thing she could do.
"Callis, you need to leave, we'll give you as much time as we can...I'm sorry I wasn't able to hear your response, but if I'm to die today, then perhaps it is better this way."- Musashi pushed callis aside as she spoke out of her heart, she did not want to die knowing she had so much to live for after this. a death without regrets against the calamity, it was a good way to go. Akane teleported her Yoshihara blade out as she focused all of her Ki onto her Kaneshige blade, a white aura roared intensively upon the blade as her virtual machine fused its nanites onto the blade.
"Blade of Masamune, my Kaneshige, heed my will one last time! split the heavens under my hand"
Akane readied her stance, with that scale, running towards the creature would be suicidal, she had to counter-attack, if such a thing was possible.

Dödsbringare was fuming, her single burning eye scanned the area, focusing first on her wounded daughter and then on the intruders. The Death Bringer exuded a deadly presence quite different to her daughter’s complete lack of killer intent. The aura of danger was so thick and dense it was almost visible. Dödsbringare’s arms supported her weight as she moved even higher, her horns touching the ceiling of the dome, a height that her daughter couldn’t even reach while standing in her hind legs. The Draconic Matron nostrils flared up, releasing jets of purple smoke, as her mouth opened for another set of threats and insults. At this moment Onyx’s blade reached her. The weapon bounced off one of her massive fangs, without even notching the coating. Her fangs were covered in Mithril, surely taken from this mine. Like her daughter, she didn’t even bother to notice the Dwarf, but this wasn’t a matter of arrogance, like Gapjärn, but complete and utter confidence in being unmatched and unrivaled. The Death Bringer then heard Akane’s voice. Her single eye opened in shock, locking on the Musashi Heiress upon hearing her first line. She continued observing this small armored speck getting ready and trying to convince her companion to ran away. Dödsbringare kept watching in silence, as Callis, after being pushed by Akane, staggering back to the wall, walked in front of her, his back turned to the Ancestral Dragon, looking directly at Akane. -No, if we leave, we leave together.- The Beast Knight talked as tears slowly rolled down his cheeks. -I brought you here, so this is my responsibility.- He took a step forward, his arms opened blocking Akane’s path. -I would do the same for you, I would put my life on the line for you, today, tomorrow and until the day my luck runs out.- Callis took another step forward, Dödsbringare still watched them with a mixture of interest and hatred. -But I do not want to put my life in the line every day… And I don’t want you to do it Akane.- Callis extended his hand placing it over her tensed up hand, closed around the hilt of her blade. His other arm locked an embrace. -We might die here, but I do not want to die without giving my answer to you.- His eyes locked on hers. -I spent many years hating myself, pushing my own desires and happiness away because I did not feel like I deserved it.- He looked down. -But truth to be told I think that was just my excuse, a way to protect myself, since I did not hate myself, I was afraid.- His pale blue eyes, filled with contained tears and flowing emotion glanced back at her armored face, his hand caressed her cheek. -If we die here, we die together…- He pressed his forehead against hers, his arm hugging her hip. -And if we live, I want to live together with you Akane Musashi.- Tears, contained until now, started bursting out from his eyes. -I love you Akane, so please, let us run away, together, let us at least try to.- This went against his knightly vows, at least in part, but he cared too much about Akane to care about them right now. He made the mistake of not dating Alexa back in Centris when he had the chance. He wouldn't make the same mistake twice, he deserved to be happy, or at least attempt to be. Dödsbringare, still in the background of this scene, was silent. Gapjärn, behind her mother, was also looking at this scene with utmost attention. Everything was silent until suddenly, both mother and daughter started crying rivers of tears. A literal waterfall of tears came out the Deathbringer's eye and both of them howled while crying.

Both of them kept crying as they talked, making their words pretty hard to comprehend.

Onyx watched his sword clatter uselessly off the dragon's teeth and numbly held out his hand. He nearly fell again when it slapped into his palm. This wasn't something that could even be distracted. "You do not speak for me. I am not okay with dying here today." Onyx grumbled when Akane spoke to Callis. He needed to work on a will. See who got his treasure when he died without children. The only problem was who would get it. Certainly not Eve. She certainly had that dwarven taste for gold, but she didn't deserve it just for that. And Callis was the one getting him killed. Norio was also out. No doubt he was the one who kept sending people to his door, the bastard. I need more friends. Perhaps I'll make them in Valhalla.
It was with expectations that his horde would rot alone until robbers eventually broke in that he drew his arm back, but his throw was halted by the most horrible noise he had ever heard. He had never heard his father cry as a dragon, or ever really. It was truly horrible. He'd rather be submerged in their acid. He'd rather jump in their mouths. "Yeah, running is sounding real good..." He growled, but his eyes were searching the floor. All of the treasure had fallen through! There was barely a coin! He hesitated looking back at the exit. Perhaps... "Glorious Dödsbringare! Truly you are as mighty as one would expect! These two lovers came not to harm and steal from your daughter but to see two legendary blades, collected by you yourself! Two brilliant swords of adamantine of the highest quality, oh they are swords of destiny, paired forever! These dear star-crossed children wish to be bound as close as those swords are and sought to use them, together to the end of time. I know that it would be horrible to ask you to part with anything from your hoard, but you are the most magnanimous of dragons, and certainly you emphasize with the love of the young?" Onyx knelt, sword planted in the ground.

"Callis?" Akane softly whispered when she heard he wouldn't leave her, her eyes showing true concern. The raging flame of her blade was extinguished by his words, and her heart skipped a beat the moment he embraced her. Akane was having a whirlwind of feelings at that time, she had resolved to die right there for him, but she felt incomprehensible joy when she told her he would stay by her side. Despite facing impossible odds, despite the threat of imminent death, Akane felt safe next to him, her blade disappeared as her hand met his, awaiting his words with unease.
-I love you, let us run away- was what Callis finally declared, Akane shared the tears of the Beast Warrior as he pressed his forehead against hers, her entire self completely enamored by his blue eyes. She finally let out a little nervous laugh as she spoke to him.
"I guess...I won't be dying on this day," Akane said with a smile while she gently reached for his lips, she was indeed blushing, but she reached out for him nonetheless. she lifted one of her feet off the ground, her hands dead set on his chest as she kissed him, feeling even lighter than under his spell.
The world was in a blank state for Akane, all she wanted right now was to make that moment last forever. She finally opened her eyes as she looked at him still blushing and somewhat embarrassed. Much to her surprise, the dragons were crying as well, while Onyx just seemed to be annoyed by everyone's wailing.
Akane held Callis' hand as she laughed a little at the scene, they weren't necessarily out of the woods yet, but the mood had definitely changed for the better. No matter what happened now, Akane was sure this had been a good day for her.

Callis softly returned Akane’s kiss, embracing her even tighter. He could feel her warmth close to his body and that enveloped his whole being, to the point anything apart from her wasn’t even there for him. No shouting dwarf, no crying dragons, no dangerous and quite deadly abyss close-by, just her and her warmth. The draconic mother and daughter pair kept staring while crying rivers of tears, that rolled down their scaly skin. The two mighty beasts were bawling their eyes out, upon witnessing the tender moment. The spell that caught both of them shattered upon hearing Onyx’s hoarse voice attempting to sound courteous and elegant. Her gargantuesque head turned towards the Dwarven Collector, her single eye, still wet, locking on to him.
𝔗𝔴𝔬 𝔞𝔡𝔞𝔪𝔞𝔫𝔱𝔦𝔫𝔢 𝔰𝔴𝔬𝔯𝔡𝔰?

Dödsbringare spoke with a softer tone, between equally faint sobbing. She realized that it would be difficult to keep the conversation in her current form so she used her magical power to shapeshift. A flash of green light flooded the area and when it went away the massive dragon was gone, leaving in her place, floating mid-air, an olive-skinned humanoid figure, that slowly flew with leathery wings towards Onyx and the other two. She was a very tall and slender woman, with dark green hair, purple eyes and some skin marks vaguely resembling scratch marks on her cheeks. One of her eyes was still milky white. She was dressed in a very elegant Arabic style dress, white, pale gold, and green, with massive emeralds embroidered into it. -This form will allow easier communication.- She said, speaking at a regular human tone with a powerful modal voice, almost as if she was always singing show tunes. Her English had a very thick Arabic accent.
The Deathbringer looked up and down at Onyx. -That sounds extremely romantic, quite surprised to hear it from a Dwarf.- Her tone wasn’t one of mockery, but of understanding. -I spent many centuries with dwarven friends and I know they are not given to this kind of passionate thinking unless gold is involved.- She looked her shoulder, glancing at Callis and Akane, still lost in their own little world. -But those two…- Dödsbringare placed her closed hands, finger first, over her mouth containing a squee. -They clearly are feeling it.- She smiled, making her look younger than she seemed, even her human form was showing signs of aging, with some crow’s feet near her eyes and one or two white hairs across her silky mane. -I do not have the swords as we used them to make my daughter’s jaws coating.- She pointed at the still crying Gapjärn. -I need it because my breath is dangerous even for myself, she, thankfully, did not inherit such risky weapon.- The Deathbringer smiled with maternal love. -She loves sweets too much and the dwarves who lived with us used to indulge her, treating cavities on a dragon is a very dangerous job, so we decided to coat her teeth.-
Dödsbringare continued talking. -I am extremely sorry for my actions, seeing my only daughter in pain clouded my judgment, but thankfully your friend words clued me into what was happening. Is not my policy to attack without provocation.- All the smiles and gentle tone vanished as she turned around, facing her daughter. -YOU COME HERE RIGHT NOW MISS!- She roared, making her daughter transform into a young woman, with the same features as her mother, only that her hair was lighter and her eyes were yellow. -Yes, mother.- She said, with a higher voice, almost akin to a falsetto. -DO NOT “YES MOTHER” ME! DID YOU ATTACK THEM TO FULFILL YOUR STUPID FANTASIES?- The Deathbringer, the Green Plague, the Living Calamity, was chastising her daughter in front of them like any other mother would. Her shouting was more than enough to pull Callis out from his love-induced stupor. He caressed Akane’s cheek for a moment before turning around and asking. -Excuse me, did you say fantasies? What do you mean by that?- The Beast Knight was so relaxed that the fact he was talking to a legendary monster was currently being selectively ignored by his brain. Dödsbringare turned around, her face shifting from a mask of maternal anger to a sweet smile. -My daughter thinks that the “good old days” were better than the present, thinking that is romantic and important fighting knights and capturing damsels, she reads too many fantasy books and gets weird ideas.- Callis wasn’t expecting that and remained in total and absolute silence upon hearing it.

The unfortunate dwarf rubbed his forehead when the dragon transformed into a human. He knew they could do that, it was just weird to see one actually transforming right in front of him. Onyx blinked when he learned that the swords no longer existed. Then gimmie- Onyx yanked off his ring before it could make him blurt out the treasure he wanted. He was back to normal in five seconds, pocketing the coiled ring. He closed his eyes and counted coins for a few seconds before taking a deep breath.
"Alright. Alright, that's okay." He glared at Callis and Akane, mentally willing them to separate already. Their making out would be bad enough if they were dwarves, but humans? Those long limbs and nearly hairless faces entangling just looked horrible to him. "Yes, I can't help it, I'm a romantic. I couldn't resist helping these humans. They live so short, you know? I wanted their brief days to be filled with joy. A shame. Sorry you two, we're going home empty handed." He shrugged, making a short step towards the exit of the lair.

"My apologies great lady, Callis tried to speak with your daughter about that issue before the battle began, but if there are no longer any Adamantine blades, would it be reasonable for us to request a different blade?"
Akane knew two Adamantine blades would be fine, but in her experience blades with different properties, weight and even size would be preferable, for a long time she wielded a wakizashi alongside her Kaneshige, and even if she held two katanas, the makers were so different it would end up creating a large distinction between the two. this was useful for offensive styles that aim to throw the opponents off balance. a different weight would change the timing of an attack, making it harder to block or dodge.
Sasaki Kojiro, Musashi's ultimate rival, used a modified blade with higher length because of this. Most experienced enemies will be able to know your Maii after a couple of attacks or just from seeing your weapon, but if the blades have a different shape, weight or length, the radius of attack will change as well, destroying their timing altogether.
"Do not feel discouraged, I'm sure we will be able to find something else!"-She told Callis, and then spoke to the dwarf.
"Onyx, please, do not leave yet, we might be able to find something"
