Lance kicked Arthur's hand in the air, but the frost mage jumped back before his sword could touch him.
"I think you're confusing strategy and tactics. Not that I need either for a pissant like you."
He dodged Lance's next attack by jumping in the air, avoiding the ax at the same time. As he was about to launch a counterattack, he was suddenly hit in the face by boiling water. He fell a few feet back, screaming and convulsing. Second later though, he regained control of his body and shot Lance a glare filled with clear murderous intent, his piercing green eyes accentuated by the red scorch marks on his face. He wanted to play around a bit at first, but when someone used heat on him, Arthur wasn't going to mess around anymore without a good reason.
"Alright, maybe I do need some planning."
First he threw off his coat which was encased in ice while still in midair. While his coat cooled down a bit, he rushed around the geyser and leapt onto an ice platform he made in midair. From there he hurled himself past Lance, attempting to cut him with an ice sword while passing next to him. The platform then shattered and the ice shards hurled themselves at the weapon master. At the same time, Arthur landed on a vertical ice platform and kicked off that as well, this time attempting to skewer Lance with an ice lance just for the bonus irony. Finally, an ice ax appeared above Lance and started dropping, stopping him from dodging into the air. The simple plan behind this semi-complex attack pattern was of course misdirection (if Lance focused on Arthur) and a multidirectional attack that would be hard to dodge. Talk about "strategy in technique" now, you sod.

Jose's eyes narrow as Lancer's attack triggers a massive geyser to erupt around him, which intercepts his barrage of concrete. The bounty hunter readies for another barrage, when suddenly he hears Haruko's warning. He looks up just in time to see the staff before disappearing underneath it. From the perspective of the others, it would appear that the earth shaker has just been squash by the immense staff as soon as he had looked up, however during that short timeframe, Jose simply decide to dive into the concrete floor right before he could have been crushed, to not only avoid being killed, but to hopefully gain the advantage of surprise as he makes his way underneath Lancer's body. Using a combination of his heighten terra and Ki senses to guide him towards his opponent.
Chase slams into the wall once again, this time protected by his armor, but still the act of being launch against the wall repeatedly is becoming rather irritating to the soulless man. However, he forces himself to remain calm. Seeing the damage she just did to the Huntsman, he knew he couldn't be careless with this one. He gradually springs off the wall ,which slowly reveals a small imprint on the side of the way of the outline of his body. He begins to shake his arms as he appears to be warming up for a swim race. He then proceeds to summon a sword and shield into his hands before crouching into a low stance and trying his best to dig his feet into the ground, though the bouncy nature of the floor was making it extremely difficult for him to keep his guard strong. However, once he is sure that his stance is strong enough to withstand another one of Cell's push attacks, at least comparable to the ones she has previously used against him, he gradually begin to step forward, with one foot always digging into the ground. His pace is both incredible slow, but strong as he plans to bring himself closer to her and eventually press her towards the back of the room.

Huntsman's neck flesh stretched over bony spires to form a jury-rigged head. "Even enslaved, you still fight! That's so beautiful!" He cackled in glee, silenced when an invisible vice closed around his windpipe. The room was shuddering, Cell at the center of it all with her eyes fixed on Gen. "Stop it." She floated towards him, completely ignoring Chase as she hovered past him.
She reached out a palm for Gen's head. If Gen let her fingers rest upon his skull, he would feel his mental defenses crumbling away like wrapping paper in the hands of a five year old. Cell's mind entered Gen's headspace like a tomb raider dynamiting her way into an ancient temple. It was nothing but a stream of images suspended in a broth of hatred. The world in flames, cities falling to ruin. Men and women that Gen didn't know being pulled apart by invisible talons. Cell herself strapped into a chair, body being taken apart by doctors around her.
"I'LL CRUSH IT" It wasn't a voice that spoke, more like a nuclear explosion that coincidentally sounded like words. "I'LL RIP IT OUT AND THEN I'LL CRUSH YOU TOO" Cell launched a mental attack on the Gainen, reaching tentacles of thought that would grab at memories and thoughts and tear them away until its psyche was in pieces.
Dan continued gasping for air, lungs slowly refilling. He could see Cell attacking Gen, but couldn't move. "She really hates Gen. Maybe he's worse than you and she read that." Huntsman stroked his chin with his bladed arm. Dan couldn't speak in response, but he was thinking about why himself. Unfortunately, the reason wasn't visible to those who couldn't read minds and Dan remained ignorant.
"Doubt it though. I bet he'd kill himself if he became a threat to all his friends and, you know, the entire world. Instead of dragging them across the planet to get torn apart by you in the hopes of coming back. Yeah, Gen, Cell, he really did that. Chase can vouch for me. Right Chase?" Huntsman swung his bladed arm at Cell's kidney again and his arm tore off at the shoulder. "Also figure out how to kill her!" He demanded.

The blade watched as Rin stepped back, unmoving as she summoned her ki mirage and stepped backwards. The wave of heat pushed the sword back a few feet, though it stood transfixed on the mirage. Its blade seemed to wobble slightly as it sensed Rin’s lowered ki signature. A few seconds later, the sword lunged forward and delivered a vertical slash straight down the center of Rin’s mirage, passing through harmlessly. It wavered around in confusion for a few seconds, then locked onto Rin’s lowered ki signature and shot straight for her stomach like an arrow.
---
“Piteous fool! Do you think this armor is just for show!?” Lance cried as Arthur’s blade glanced harmlessly off his breastplate. He turned to meet Arthur’s next attack, buckling slightly as the lance shallowly penetrated. “Not… enough!” Lance swept his arm through the lance, shattering it to leave only a small chunk piercing through his armor.
He hesitated just a second when he felt the earth move under him, and that was enough for the axe to glance his shoulder as he sidestepped. The blunt force travelled through his pauldron, but the axe continued downwards at the floor, right where Jose was emerging. Lance flexed his arm and pulled the chunk of ice from his body, unplugging the bleeding hole. He winced in pain slightly, though his expression was hidden by his helmet. A small portion of his shiny silver armor extended itself across the wound, tearing through some of the muscle but blocking the injury from bleeding further. “AAAAGH! Is that all you have?! Even the miserable Apollo was more of a challenge than all of you!” Lance declared as he opened another portal next to his head and pulled out an elegant light brown bow with a light green vine wrapped around the wooden parts, blooming with white flowers.
“Now witness...for divine judgement will rain down upon you all!” He points the bow straight into the air, and a bright golden arrow materializes into the bow as it’s shot directly above Lance’s head. The arrow quickly began to divide when it sailed up toward the roof. The arrow quickly became dozens of shining dots in the sky when they reached the peak, turning back down and continuing to divide. Light emanating from the arrows numbering in the hundreds made visibility in the area almost zero, the maelstrom of heat and light now beginning to rain down upon the area. Lance quickly reaches into another portal and pulls out a circular metal shield with boars carved into the front as decoration. The knight crouched down and placed the shield above his head, allowing the arrows to rain down around him while keeping safe, though the heat was still excruciating in the heavy armor he wore.
While Lance crouched down to protect himself from the onslaught of light and heat arrows, he began to remember the other battles he had with his family. Kerrigan’s assertive leadership as she melted her enemies shields in front of them...Rory’s emotionless stare as she fired artillery from her arm cannons...and the glorious leader Joseph himself’s carefree attitude as he smashed through armies with his mace easily. It had only been a few years since they conquered this island...but in that time, Joseph had turned this place from a backwater, barbaric society to a thriving haven where their research could be made in peace. The economy went from the bartering system of savages, to a glorious system where foreigners come to spend money on the shady businesses...but all the profits are funneled into making the world a better place. If they hadn’t conquered the island, these people would still be suffering from their petty tribal rivalries. It is only through subjugation that the human race can truly put aside their differences and become a better species. Peace through superior firepower. It is for this reason, the salvation of mankind from itself, that Lance fights.
Haruko watched in awe as the arrows turned down toward the ground, grabbing the jewel on her necklace and beginning to think to herself. Hey! I really need your help here, and you need mine. Can we work together for once and get out of here alive? A voice inside Haruko’s head began to chuckle. Why would I need to work together with someone like you? I’m better in every way! Just let me out and I’ll rip that little pretty boy right out of his armor. Haruko shook her head and infused some of her magic into the gem. “Come on, just once would you listen?!” Haruko shouted out toward the voice in her head as her body began to change. The arrows rained down upon a cloud of fog that now inhabited the area where Haruko once stood, a sinister laughter emanating from the inside.
---
Far at the end of the walled-off area, Sid looks back at the area where the others were fighting, now bathed in the light from Lance’s arrows. “Damn...glad I’m not in that shit.” The kickmaster remarks to himself as he steps through the glass doors of the massive building. He looks around to see the lobby was coated in pristine white walls, the floor covered in grey tiles that gave the area the vibe of a hospital. The female receptionist up front looked around 30 years old, with black hair and deep brown eyes. “Excuse me, sir. Do you have clearance to be here?” Sid looked at her with a small amount of confusion. “Uh...yeah! I’m a newbie, just hired yesterday! I’m on floor...uh...uh…” Sid’s sentence was soon interrupted when he saw what was on the cart someone was pushing down the hallway. A man that looked like the slaves outside, with the right side of his face completely swollen and red. Shoved awkwardly into his empty right socket was a piece of glass, colored like a green bottle fly. The rest of the man’s body was covered by a black blanket, something Sid was thankful for. The shape under the blanket didn’t look quite right, like it was distinctly inhuman in form.

The Axe slams into the emerging bounty hunter as Jose breaks through the floor, covered in his earth armor. Had Jose not bother to prepare his earth armor in advance, his head would have been split in half. Instead, the earth surrounding his head cracks in pieces as the bounty hunter finds himself redirected downwards, back into the ground. The force of the blow severely stuns him for a few moments as he lays motionless. As he begins to regain his senses, his vision is slowly blinded by an approaching light, however the incoming heat is more than enough to alarm him of the danger. He quickly brings his hands together, and the earth around him swiftly collapse inwards on his location until they form a massive and thick wall, which separates his body from Lance's approaching energy attack.
Veins begin to appear all over Chase's forehead as his opponent casually hovers past him. "I'll try to create an opening," he replied to Huntsman. "When I do, you will use that moment to remove head from body." The soulless man reaches towards Cell with an open hand. The woman's, or perhaps creature's, soul appear to be like a nuclear bomb, that has been hastily patched together with expired duct tape, in the desperate hopes that'll somehow it won't go off. She was a spiteful thing. Broken and repair more times then he could possible count... A smile begins to spread across Chase's face at the thought of how much suffering this will cause her. While his smug smile is hidden underneath his helmet he begins to pull on her spirit to leave it's body. His prowess with the black hole at his spiritual center is not capable of removing the souls of the living, but he could apply an immense amount of pulling force on the soul from within its vessel.
The feeling would undoubtable be uncomfortable to someone with a lack of control over their own spiritual energies and soul. Though the exact feeling may be unique from one person to another, it could be at leas somewhat comparable to a theoretical experience of one's own insides were rejecting being contain underneath their skin and forceable attempts to crawl out of the body. Even though there was no hope of escape, the pressure would continue to build up over and over again. The awkward feeling will eventually transform into agony and suffering as the soul is being pulled on.

Fire.
Burning flames.
A raging inferno roaring inside his head.
Gen reflexes were quite fast, possibly close to the peak of any mundane athlete or fighter, but he was stunned from the fall, confused by the Gainen and facing an enemy clearly faster than he was. Cell’s fingers clutched his head, her hand like the claw of a bird of prey, digging into an unsuspecting animal, after a dive. -AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!- Gen screamed as the smoldering touch crept into his mind, sending a flow of death, chaos and misery directly into his brain. It was like suddenly being hit with the pain and suffering of an entire city in the midst of a war-zone, like a stick of dynamite exploding and the blast coursing his neurons through his synaptic pathways. The Former Spirit Boxer closed his eyes, didn’t actually matter if he had them open or closed, as the pain itself was literally blinding, he could only see white, that flooded from the sides of his sight, blocking anything else. Another bellow of pain came out from his throat, echoing up the hole and reaching the other battlefield.
Rin’s focus was laser-guided, she discovered the key, seemingly it followed Ki, thus she could keep her own output at a very low level while launching mirages to keep the blade out of her way. As it moved towards her stomach she jumped up, lifting her legs and allowing the flying weapon to pass below her, just off for a hair’s breadth, or maybe not, as a bit of her long locks was cut by it. She front flipped and landed with her back to the sword, smiling and launching two mirages to her sides, with confidence that the blade would attack them. She turned around, ready to wait for her moment to spring into action and attack the blade from the flank, aiming to destroy it. -I got you now!- She proclaimed as she prepared an Iaijutsu strike, placing the blade in position and shifting her stance. But as her concentration peaked two things happened. First, from the hole her brother fell into she heard a bone-chilling scream. -GEN!?- She turned her face towards the direction of the scream, in the worst possible moment.
Lance’s attack rained down on the area, dozens if not hundreds of arrows fell from above. Rin didn’t react until a couple hit her, thankfully just grazing her. Without any other choice she turned to the onslaught of light and shifted her sword into a spear, spinning it to deflect the incoming fire, adding her own ki to create a large circular shield. Thankfully it seems her makeshift protection was working out. -Yes.- She triumphantly whispered as most of the arrows were either being blocked, deflected or passed too far from her body. But her iron-willed determination and focus had consequences. She was unbalanced, shifting all her attention from the sword, to Gen and finally to the attack, so it was understandable that this kind of focus might blind her from other threats and soon she suffered those consequences, as her side was stabbed by the flying blade, making her let out a cry of pain and a spurt of blood. Her arms grew weaker, so did her legs. The rapid spin of her spear turned into a lazy twirl and she collapsed as the flying blade pulled out from her side. Arrows still falling, but thankfully just giving her laid body glancing blows.
The fire inside Gen’s head kept roaring, trying to consume everything on its path. His life passed through his eyes, burning away like cells of a film being consumed by a hateful blaze. His childhood, being hit and punished for not reaching the standards of his parents, his teenage years, first as a delinquent, then as a dojo-hunter and finally as a Spirit Boxer. He died once… or maybe twice, but losing his memories seemed even worse, he was ready to die, especially if it was for others, as much as he never thought himself a hero, training with Reiji and facing threats alongside comrades who then turned into friends slowly shifted his outlook in life. He didn’t know that Reiji’s development was similar, both student and master were bad-mouthed brawlers who ended up being heroes half against their will. Dying wasn’t the issue, but forgetting? Forgetting was a fate worse than death. He won his scars, through effort, through combat, through pain, through defeat and through victory. Not knowing who he fought, what he saw and what he suffered was to Gen worse than dying.
Slowly his mind was going white, flames burning inside of it and shining with blinding light. His tensed up body relaxed, his senses got numb, he was basically hanging from Cell’s fingers. But then something happened. Something snapped inside of him. A trigger, a faint cry, reaching his ears just before his senses were completely shut off. “Rin. Something is wrong with Rin” The thought crossed his mind. “What?” He asked to himself panicked, his inner voice barely audible in his head, as the crackling bonfire brought by Cell was deafening. “Who… Who is Rin?” His memory fading, his will faltering and his body at the brink of collapse it seemed as the third time would be the charm, when it came to him dying, but as he was about to give up a voice, a voice he could faintly hear, managed to whisper “She is about to die… and I can help you…” Gen was confused. “What?” He asked to the voice, that slowly became louder, as if he was coming closer. “Your sister is dying and you are too dumb and prideful to help kid.”
The Former Spirit Boxer could see himself inside of his mind, sitting against an invisible wall as everything burned. "My… sister?" He weakly asked as his eyes focused on movement far away. A shape, walking through the flames, coming closer and closer. -Yes, your sister, you stubborn idiot. And you’re dying to, like an idiot.- Gen shook his head trying to push the haze out of his mind. He remembered something, he had something inside him, a monster he couldn’t allow to leave. "No… ya want to trick me… ya are the monster… ya will kill her and me if I let ya out." The figure stopped on its tracks and shook his head. "Goddammit, kid, you’re stubborn, just like me when I was your age, I give you that." The figure shifted stances and Gen felt something he hadn’t felt in a long while. Ki. He lost his capabilities to sense Ki alongside with it, when he burn it in, but being close to death maybe re-ignited at least a bit. He knew this Ki. He shook his head again, trying to focus on the figure. He knew the stance. He remembered it. The figure deeply inhaled and exhaled. The shadowy figure let out a mighty roar of “CHESTO!!!” and punched the air in front of him. Everything around Gen started shaking, as if a quake was happening inside of his head. The roaring flames flickered and danced with the added movement, almost as if they were following the rhythm of a unhearable song and then suddenly stopped, frozen in place. For a moment everything was silent, not even the faintest sound could be heard. The moment felt like an eternity until the silence was broken. The fire, frozen in place creaked. A crack expanded from the middle of it, as if it was glass. Another crack followed the first and soon it turned into a cobweb of fissures. The fire fell apart in pieces, each fragment letting golden light in, shining on the collapsed Gen. The flames came down, like a wall being demolished and the figure walked towards Gen, hidden in the curtain of golden light. A large, calloused hand came out from the curtain of brightness and clutched Gen’s hand helping him up. Reiji Fukuma was standing besides his student looking down on him with a grin. The Former Spirit Boxer’s mind was finally clear and he looked up to his master extending his free hand towards him. “Old m… Master… How’re ya here? They told me ya died…”
Reiji clocked him in the chin, making Gen fall flat on his ass again. “You’re up… is time to fight then, you need to save your sister and find my master Nensho, he will tell you what to do.” Gen kept looking at Reiji. “How the fuck are ya here? Can’t ya fuckin’ explain it to me?” Reiji shook his head. “I don’t have the time. You wouldn't get the full story either.” He raised his hand, showing that it started to vanish into golden particles. “I’m just reaching out through your medal” He scratched the back of his head. “You see, I’m stuck in the Gainen Space.” He throws the medal into Gen’s hand. “Trust in this, you’re going to need it.” The Former Delinquent looked at the medal on his hand. “But…” Reiji smiled. “Battle might be bit battle-crazy, but you of all people should understand that, maybe even better than me.” Reiji’s legs started to disappear as he turned around, walking away. “Master!” Gen shouted, making the Old Brawler turned his head around. The Former Spirit Boxer stood up and bowed. “I could never say… Thank ya.”
Reiji smiled again. “Don’t mention kid, just save your sister and if you can save me, I don’t mind being stuck here, I was stuck in an island for much longer, but I'll rather get out.” He waved and vanished, leaving Gen looking at the medal on his palm. The Gainen Armored Hero stared for a at it for a second and then slowly closed his fingers around it. A new figure appeared in front of him, tall and imposing, a beastly being resembling a Lion, with a mane made of golden bone spikes. “Finally kiddo, we’re going to kick some ass for once.” Gen raised an eyebrow “We?” The creature nodded. “Up until now you had been resisting me, so I had to take your body for a ride each time you needed to use your powers to survive, if you allow me in we will share the burden.” Gen nodded. “I still ain’t trustin’ ya, but I can’t fuckin’ say I don’t need ya right now." Gen bowed."So please help me out” The Wild Beast nodded as well. “That’s a good way to start the new phase of our partnership.” He extended his hand. “I’m <Battle>, who are you?” Gen grasped the Gainen’s hand. “I’m Gen Shishioh” <Battle> chuckled. “That I know, but who do you want to be?” He put more force into his handshake. “Who do you need to be? What do you need to be?” Gen thought for a moment and then smiled. Not just a smile, but one of his slasher grins, like the ones he used to have when he fought a long time ago, the kind that is splattered all over his face alongside the blood of the poor bastard unlucky enough to fight him. “I haven’t fought for real in fuckin’ long while” He popped his neck and knuckles. “I should take it easy… but fuck it…” His grin grew larger. “Somebody hurt my sister, somebody tried to fuckin’ erase my head… takin’ it easy is for fuckin’ quitters.” The Gainen smiled a big toothy grin. “And you aren’t a quitter Gen… What do you want to be?” The Gainen Armored Hero’s smile grew wider once more. “Is not what I want to be be… Is what I want to do” The Gainen quickly asked “And what’s that?” The Former Delinquent shrugged and simply said “I wanna run fuckin’ <Wild>”
Rin was still on the floor as she felt a tremor below her. Worried, she weakly raised her head, looking at the hole her brother fell into and suddenly a pillar of golden light surged from it, like a beacon of flaming power. Golden light enveloped Gen, shooting upwards as he clutched the medal. The sound of metal manifesting from thin air with a loud chime surrounded him, as pieces of armor connected to his body, still bathed in golden light. The radiance died out, slowly dimming out, revealing a magnificent suit of armor, rigid pieces mounted on an undersuit of flexible yet resilient material. Golden pieces with a slight red tint, akin to bronce, the head formed a metallic spiky mane, red compound lenses protected his eyes, massive armored gauntlets with retractable claws and a burning golden aura around him.
Below her Cell was now grabbing a helmet, shaped like a Lion’s head. Gen wasn’t hanging anymore, as he grew a couple of inches thanks to the black and golden armor he was now wearing. -Is time to get his fuckin’ show on the road.- One of the newly clawed hands of Gen moved to grasp her hand. -Ya don't get to erase my brain without a fuckin' fight ya fuckin' bitch.- Two voices spoke as one as Gen slowly prepared his arm, cocking it backwards and taking a stance. Energy gathered around it, Gainen Energy, and Gen unleashed a massive straight punch, powerful enough to punch a hole through solid stone. This fist was charged with everything he had been repressing for months, releasing a surprising amount of killing intent. No, not just that, but unwavering determination as well
-EAT THIS YA FUCKIN’ AKIRA REJECT!- He roared as his punch blasted towards Cell’s chin, with a shockwave following suit as it managed to break the speed of sound. The energy crackled around him, like bolts of golden lightning and his helmet blasted out blue flames.

Cell was in her true form within Gen's mind. Not human, but a rolling wave of hate. Memories were not read, just burned. Thoughts were made to wither. Gen's very identity was cracking like an egg in her iron grip. Like a fortress under siege, if the invaders had nukes and no reason not to use them. She didn't want to undo him. It was a clawing need, like a badger sewn up into her chest that could only be silenced when the two minds were snuffed. She broke the gates, her mind storming in an infinite swarm, but she didn't meet what she wanted.
3 minds.
Her lip twisted up. Her soul screamed. She felt her organs writhe. Her hand drew back to launch a wave that would turn Gen's head inside out so she could stomp the minds away with her naked heel. Instead, another attack befell her. Her very soul rebelled, quaking in her body. The badger grew to a bear and her skin didn't fit and she was tearing apart. Why? What happened? What made her hurt like this? She was dripping with swear as her mind chaotically cast about, reading, reading why three minds why, until she found Chase. He thought of hurting her like that. She turned her palm back on him. "No... stop touching me. STOP HURTING ME!"
Her scream was accompanied by invisible hands attempting to grab Chase's neck and squeeze it until his head was severed. Maybe that would make it stop. A bitter sea tickled her cheeks. All the better to drown them. It all grew worse. Her connection to Gen was shattered, her mind fully in the skeleton she piloted again. She stumbled back, staring blankly. She just watched him pull back his fist, trying to read where his punch would be. Two minds. She couldn't. "Why."
Gen's fist answered. Cell was thrown back into the opposite wall, steel crumpling before the force her body carried. Slowly she peeled off and dropped to the floor, not catching herself at all as she lightly bounced on the soft trap. Dan and Huntsman stared in shock. "Since when can you do this!?" "You can still do that!?" Huntsman and Dan simultaneously exclaimed. "I need to get my medal back..." Dan looked at Gen's armored form with envy. He could use something like that.
It was soft again. She wanted to sleep again. Why was it so soft? Why couldn't she just sleep? The minds. They all yelled. They had to be silenced, then maybe she could sleep. On the soft floor. "Two minds... two minds... how could you." She slowly stood, pushing herself up with her emaciated limbs. She saw sparks. What were they? Her head hurt. That made her feel bad too. She raised her hand in a fist, building force within. After a few seconds, she cracked her fingers and the invisible force shot out, compressed from a wave into invisible blades heading at each of her assailants. By sheer instinct, Dan dodged, letting the blade only open a shallow gash in his side.

The bastard refused to go down despite the barrage of attacks that was aimed at him. Worse yet, it seemed he had more tricks. Getting a terrible feeling, Arthur jumped away when Lance pulled something new out of thin air. It turned out to be a bow, so perhaps getting distance wasn't the best idea Arthur had. But what happened next made Arthur glad he pulled back.
Lance fired an arrow into the air. That wouldn't be so bad if the arrow didn't start multiplying, making the air hotter with every split it made. By the time it reached the peak of it's "arc", it was already blotting out the sky. Unlike what one might expect, the world wasn't covered in shadow. Instead, it was absorbed by light, not unlike a sun getting closer to earth. For Arthur, the heat was also comparable.
Arthur glanced around quickly. Haruko and the rock guy appeared to have their own defenses set up and even Rin was holding her own when he saw her. Good, he wouldn't need to expend too much mana then. He formed a dome of ice around himself. Then he made two more, adding layers just in case. He could already feel the first layer melting through the mana in the ice.

After what seemed like several minutes, the barrage of arrows had finally subsided. The landscape was littered with arrows sticking straight out of the ground, the light having gone out and heat slowly radiating away from the arrows. Lance slowly stood back up, raising his sword and brushing off the leftover arrows that had fallen onto his shield. "Is that all you have?! Don't waste my time with your games!" Lance yelled out toward the group. His attention was soon caught by a pillar of light erupting out of the hole the rest of the group fell into, a scream ringing out as well. "Sounds like Cell is making quick work of the rest of your friends! Great work, sis!" The silver warrior calls out, his voice too far away to actually be heard. Lance's attention was then drawn to the cloud of fog that had formed where the pink-haired woman was earlier, him feeling a distinctly menacing aura coming from it.
"You! Inside the fog! Identify yourself!" He demanded. A sinister chuckle echoed from the fog as Yamiko stepped out into the open. "Oh...this one thinks he can order me around? That's kinda cute." The sadistic idol took a small knife from her shirt pocket and held it up toward her face. "I do love self-righteous men like you. There is nothing more satisfying than seeing the confidence slowly drain away from your body...begging me to stop sticking knives into your kidneys." A visible blush could be seen on Yamiko's face. Lance took a small step back in surprise. "There is nothing in this universe that can break my spirit, witch! Changing your form is meaningless!" Lance declares. The blush on Yamiko's face grew even more. "Ah...that's it! Be the noble knight who's going to slay the evil witch! Makes thing sooooooo much more fun when I shove that sword straight up your ass!" And with that, Yamiko spread her arms out and created a circle of 100 dark crimson transparent knives around Lance. She controls them all to fly downward toward the knight as she sprinted forward with her own knife at her side.
Lance held his shield up began to skillfully parry the knives away as they approached, using his armor plating to deflect the ones not headed for the openings in his armor. "Looks like you've improved!" Lance declared, smashing a knife away with his sword. "But you still lack strategy!" He placed his shield directly in front of Yamiko's charge, only to see the sadistic idol leap over him and drive her knife directly into the armor gap between his shoulder blades. "Mmmm...how does that feel?" She asks him directly into his ear. Lance winced in pain...but managed to turn his helmet. "It feels like victory!" He yelled at her. Yamiko stood confused for a second, long enough for the sword that had stabbed Rin to fly behind her and skewer the sadist straight through the chest. Blood slowly began to trickle down Yamiko’s shirt as she grinned widely at Lance. “Ah...a sneaky boy, taking me from behind!” She coughed up a small glob of blood when she tried to laugh. Lance glared at Yamiko when he grabbed her by the shirt and lifted her off the ground. “Your crude words are unsettling, but I won’t be made a fool by you!” Lance declares. The knight commands the flying sword to exit her body though the back, allowing him to slam her hard into the ground. Yamiko forms dozens more knives around Lance, but most of them bounce off his armor as he smashes her into the ground once more. He then tosses her hard into the air, pulling out his bow of Apollo once more. “The light of justice shall return you to hell, demon!” Lance yells, releasing the bow and launching a massive arrow of light directly at Yamiko. It spears her directly in the stomach and sends her straight into a nearby house, smashing the supports and causing the entire structure to crash down on top of her. In the meyhem with Yamiko, the sword Rin was fighting had now set its sights on a new target; Arthur. It sailed toward the ice mage, ready to spear him through the stomach.

The arrow shower went on for too long. By the time it was over, Arthur's multi-layered defense was already down to the final layer. He breathed a sigh of relief as he lowered his dome and almost instantly he was set upon by a cursed sword. It flew straight at his stomach, but instead it struck an ice wall that appeared out of nowhere. Taking the second of relief to observe his surroundings, Arthur noticed that Lance was fighting a familiar figure.
"Shit, Yamiko's out again? Dammit."
What's worse, despite her undeniable power, Yamiko was getting her ass kicked too. He leaped out from behind the ice wall, and hoped the sword was stuck in the ice enough for him to pull it out. If he succeeded, he'd charge at Lance who he also hoped was too preoccupied with Yamiko to notice him approaching.

Jose waited for a moment after he could no longer feel the barrage crashing against the earth above his head. He then slowly takes a deep breath as he searches for Lance's position. He closes his eyes as he reaches out with his terra senses. As soon as he spot his opponent's location, he instantly remembers how Lance was able to figure out his approach before he could land a blow. Jose takes a moment to think of his next move. As his mind ponders on what he should do, he could remember a brief conversation he had with his master. He couldn't recall his master's exacts words, but he will never forget the point message, especially since Goemon enjoys making his points with his fists. "Adapt to the situation at hand," muttered Jose.
Tremors gradually begin to spread throughout the ground, until the entire floor begins to shake around Lance, thus making it much more difficult, if not making it near impossible for him to feel the incoming approach of Jose's body by feeling the movement of the earth. Then again, Jose figures the man will likely expect him to strike him directly underneath his body again. And it is that prediction of his opponent's reaction that the bounty hunter will use to his advantage. The ground underneath Lance slightly shifts more then the nearby movements around the man as a suit of earth emerges to grapple the man's ankles in an attempt to pull him into the ground.
However, if Lance attacks the suit itself, he may be caught off guard by how hallow the suit of earth armor is when he discovers that Jose is not inside. Instead, the earth shaker is emerging out of the ground right behind the Lance as soon as he feels his earth armor makes contact with its target. Jose erupts out of the ground with his fist glowing in a deep reddish glow as he charges up a Ki enhance punch aim at the back of Lance's head.
Chase suddenly begins to choke, yet he manages to chuckle in between his grunts as his throat is being gradually crush. He continues to maintain his concentration on Cell's soul, as he continues to apply more and more pressure on her spiritual center. The soulless man did not need to worry about his throat being crushed, as his body did not rely on air like a normal person. So long as he posse some spiritual power, and certain major organs are functioning properly, he would be able to operate his body perfectly fine. However, his chuckles fade as he could feel the invisible force affecting him begin to apply even more force as if it is about to rip his head off his body.
Chase's body begins to glow in a reddish aura as he prepares to unleash his Soul Overdrive and attempt to crush Cell before her weird technique could kill him. He didn't even care what happens to the others, besides Huntsman. Otherwise, he would have turn this entire place to an inferno by now. Yet his concern for his friend would soon disappear as soon as his own life is in danger. Yet before he could unleash his full might against Cell, thankfully he is saved by a sudden punch by Gen. As he feels the force assaulting him disappear, the reddish aura around him gradually vanishes into thine air.
He takes a moment to examine the situation before him, especially to check out Gen's soul, as he tries to figure out what is going on with that guy. It was rare for Chase to discover something new, and the energy that Gen is radiating is something Chase has never seen before. Yet it is difficult for Chase to see the man's soul, for the his spirit appears to have been set ablaze, burning with what feels like an unlimited supply of fuel. And strangely enough, there appears to be a big neon sign saying "It's go time!"

Rin felt the burning sting of half a dozen arrows, some of them piercing through her body and pinning her against the floor. It was clear she kinda bit more than she could chew in this fight, Lance clearly having a monstruos power advantage. But Rin didn’t despair, as she could feel something she hasn’t felt in ages. Below her, deep in the trap pit that swallowed her brother and half of the group, she could clearly sense Gen’s Ki, bursting again like years ago, before a string of misfortunes hit the Spirit Boxer. The Novice Warrior knew she couldn’t just stay down so she clenched her teeth and pushed through the pain. She started rising her body, trying to put some distance between the floor and her body. 3 arrows had completely pierced through, one through her left shoulder, one on her right forearm and a third one cleanly through her right foot. She groaned in pain as blood spurted from her wounds, dripping down the shafts of the arrows. Using her left hand, that could at least move she did a sweep with her blade, cutting the shafts of the arrows in her shoulder and forearm.
She almost let out a scream of pain as the projectiles, at least the part still in her, shook, sending bolts of pain through her nervous system. She was biting so hard on her lip she was drawing blood. Rin grabbed the arrow in her forearm and pulled it out, then did the same with the one on the shoulder, while the battle between Yamiko and Lance raged on behind her. “Come on, just a little more” she thought to herself, as she inched her blade closer to the arrow on her foot and she cut the part beneath it. Once again she let out a choked scream, barely containing the sound on her throat as she pulled the arrow. Rin was breathing heavily, finally able to focus in the situation around her. It seems like Haruko changed into somebody… something else. The rest of the group was charging on Lance. Rin attempted to stand up, putting weight on the injured foot made her stagger and fall. She tried again, this time focusing her dwindling reserves of Ki on her lower body. She could barely feel her arms and her fingers were numbing around the hilt of her blade.
-I need to do something.- She muttered to herself. -Gen is down there fighting.- She glanced at the hole, sensing her brother’s ki again. -I can't let him fight or his friends alone.- She smiled as she turned around to see the fight happening. She reached the conclusion that she didn’t have to do what Gen did, but at this moment her brother’s reckless maybe was what she needed. Knowing that her hands wouldn’t be able to carry her blade, she willed it to become smaller, turning her Katana into a Kodachi, a shorter blade and bit the hilt, the blood from her lip painting the white hilt and dyeing it red. The Novice Warrior started gathering whatever Ki she had on her legs and her blade. As she did this, Lance was preparing his massive bow and arrow to hit Yamiko with. So Rin, seeing her chance, not only because of the Knight’s aggressive move against the transfigured Haruko, but also because she could sense Jose’s Ki and got his plan. She bursted out, cracking the floor beneath her with her running start, blade tightly held between her teeth.
A loud boom, echoing the one that just came from the pit, signaled that she broke the sound barrier, leaving a dust cloud behind her starting position. She wasn’t extremely adept to this, but she managed to pull it off several times before. She was running low, her body almost parallel to the ground, while her injured arms flapped besides her. Rin was exceptionally adept to sensing Ki, and she knew, or had a good guess about Jose’s intentions, so she decided to at least help the Earth-Shaker. When he popped out behind Lance, she would be right below him, instead of attacking the upper body, her blade would target the back of the knee, trying to slice the Knight’s less armored spot, since any armor had to be less solid behind the knee to allow movement.
Gen slowly retracted the fist he just threw, looking at it through the crimson lenses of his armor. Out of it, he opened and closed his armored fingers, testing their strength. Underneath his helmet a large slasher smile appeared on his face, he could feel it, his body, just like before everything happened, stronger, faster and more durable. He took a big breath and exhaled, a classical Karate style breath, taught to him by Reiji. -I missed this.- He whispered to himself as he started to gather his surging power. The flames coming out the lion-like mane of his helmet exploded into a raging inferno, dying the pit with their bluish light. He popped his fingers, one hand at the time and then popped his neck, tilting it to the side. -I really fuckin’ missed it.- He started walking towards Cell, still smiling under his helmet. The Esper in front of him launched a blast of sharpened energy towards him, but Gen reacted with ease, making his body compact and sidestepping while advancing with a close-knit peek-a-boo guard. His feet left flaming imprints with each step, the flames of his head and the red light one his eyes created a trail following him as he moved up close and personal.
Some of the blades reached him, at least enough to mark his armor, letting out sparks with each contact against the psychic onslaught, but he pushed on. -I’ve been savin’ this for a long fuckin’ time!- His Ki flared up, his hands bursting with golden energy as he dashed forward and unleashed a veritable storm of fists. The golden energy took the shape of Golden Lion heads, roaring as Gen released his pent up frustration in the form of rapid fire fisticuffs. He was moving through the air, propelled by his burning Ki, while he punched.
GOLDEN LION RUSH! (Kin Shishi Bakushin/ 金獅子座驀進)
Each individual hit wasn’t as strong as his first attack, but they were more or less in the same range of speed, barely under the speed of sound. -YA’RE FUCKIN’ DEAD, YA UGLY MOTHERFUKER!!- He shouted while he kept punching, throwing jabs, straights, hooks and uppercuts in blinding succession.

Cell's whole body twitched when she saw people surviving her attacks. She put her palm to her face like she had a headache, grimacing through her fingers as her hand slipped. She was so slippery. Sweat. So sweaty. When was it time for her sponge bath? The man who did that was the only person she didn't want to kill. He made her clean when she couldn't and he was always gentle with the thin skin around her implants. Maybe he didn't come to work today and she let him live. For a split second, it disturbed her that she wasn't sure if he was dead by her hand.
Her face become nothing more than a mask of confused terror as Gen came rushing in. The lion was in the Colosseum as she had thought, but she was mistaken in its identity. Here the lion stood before her, she the criminal to be cast naked into its jaws. She drew all her power in, trying to shield herself. A barrier formed over her body, visible like a heat mirage on the horizon. It prevented instant death, but she may well prefer that. Gen's fists pummeled every inch of her body, bouncing her like a marionette flicked around on its strings. Bones snapped, flesh twisted and deformed, skin tore where abrasive knuckles caught it. Cell fell back against the wall, blood coming from her mouth and nose, one eye nearly shut by swelling that had begun. Her electronics sparked and she shuddered in jolts as she collapsed.
Dan watched Gen pummel Cell in awe. This power... it was what he used back on Sakurajima. Anger began to trickle into his bloodstream like a poison, tightening his chest. With Cell seemingly neutralized, it was settling in that Gen was alive. Alive, after Dan watched him die twice and felt such despair he let himself become a monster just to stop feeling like a failure. He looked at Cell. She was still on the floor, blood pooling under her head. If there was a time, it was now.
"Gen! You're alive again! I mean, that's been established! How long has it been now? You haven't told me! I know we didn't know each other very well, but I saved your life twice and you didn't even send messages to everybody who helped you! We all thought we failed and you just let the illusion stay!? Just... come on!" Dane glared at Gen's back. He heard a laugh behind him, the same canned studio laughter Huntsman had used before.
"Oh yes Gen, do you want to hear what Dan here did because he thought you died? It's really a lovely story." Huntsman cackled, laugh distorted like the machine used in the 50s to record it was at long last dying. "He goes into the Avatar State cause it doesn't feel emotions! And what do you know, he starts breeding monsters like that cause that's what it's for. He gets sad and so he goes into monster baby mode and threatens the whole world. What a hero, our Dan! A vote- is Dan terrible or not? If he is, yes! If he is not, no!"
"Yes."
Cell floated limp, not even upright as she rose off the ground. Her body looked shriveled, pathetic, limbs dangling or twisted into the wrong positions. She looked into the slits in Gen's helmet with scorn and sorrow. "Mr. Lion won't stop thinking... he'll eat me. Am I a criminal? Why else would brother put me here... he put me here! It was him! I remember! I remember! I REMEMBER THAT MR. LION! I REMEMBER WHO FED ME TO YOU!" The room shook from the sheer force she shoved into one point. She tried to wrap Gen in pressure, squeeze him from all sides until he dripped out the cracks in his armor. "He... why? He... who is he... who was I talking about... the man with the sponge? I killed him. Why...?" Her face turned to a grimace of pain and confusion.
She saw Huntsman open his palm. A single mind. So easy to read. She saw his plan more clearly than she could read her own chaotic mind. Why had she killed the sponge man? Huntsman's hand bones had becomes a shrapnel bomb and he was planning on exploding it at her. But all the shards were aimed wrong. They could not hit her. The hand exploded with a noise like a firecracker and she heard shrapnel whizzing by her ear. There was another distinct sound behind her, the clink of bone shards bouncing off the wall, before her the sound of Dan swearing and dodging something that bounced wildly back. She didn't understand what had happened when pain broke out all over her back. It was the shards! They had bounced randomly off the back wall to get her by surprise!
Her powers weakened, so if Gen was trapped he would soon find himself able to move once more. She opened and closed her mouth like a fish, a punctured lung sucking through a hole in her back. More blood spilled down her chin as she slowly sank in altitude. Nothing seemed to be working anymore. Why was she so dizzy? What was that noise from her back? She felt so sticky. She needed the sponge man. Where was he? None of them would clean her. They had awful minds. Filthy, despicable things, crawling with hidden things lurking like snakes in dark caves, biting when you reached your hand in. The sponge man had so little in his mind. So clean. Nowhere to hide filthiness. Was that why she wanted to hurt people in the first place? She couldn't remember. Maybe it didn't matter now.
Huntsman stepped up besides Gen and looked down on her. "Stop letting her suffer. End it already." He growled. Dan balked behind him. "None of this is lethal." He protested. "Haruko still has kits up-" "YOU THOUGHT I WAS TALKING ABOUT WHAT WE DID TO HER, HUMAN!?" Huntsman snarled. "Gen! Chase! Reduce her to ashes so there is nothing left to rebuild as a sick toy for the little king on this miserable island!" She still twitched below. She could move enough and read his mind so that a fatal blow would merely be a more painful one. He wanted it to be quick. She deserved that. The humans might not agree, but they were the species who did this to her. They got no moral say.

Beneath the rubble where Yamiko had been buried under, the sadistic idol was staring up at the ruined piece of wall that had fallen onto her body. Several pieces of tile and metal pipe had sliced into Yamiko’s body, leaving a small trail of blood running down her legs and sides. Inside of her head, Haruko was watching the action unfold with a sense of awe and frustration. Frustration that this horrible woman who always seemed to deal with the threats she couldn’t was now being tossed around like a ragdoll. Frustration that she couldn’t help defeat this monster of a man.
What was that?! Did you forget how to fight?! Haruko yells inside of her head. Yamiko kicks aside a piece of rubble on top of her right leg, admiring the long red patch of blood that formed on her leg. “Oh, excuse me. I just pumped over 200 knives into that big guy’s body and it barely did anything. Do you want a shot? Or do you want to see me shove a knife right up his ass?” Yamiko shot back, slowly pulling herself out of the rubble. Haruko wanted to strangle this woman. She wanted to pull Yamiko out of her body and throw her into a volcano. Yamiko’s entire existence had been nothing but a burden on Haruko’s mental stability since she was made all those years ago. But now...she had to put that aside. Ok...listen. Let’s just talk for a second. It’s clear that neither of us can beat this guy alone. So how about we...work...together? The words felt like swallowing a pile of nails for Haruko. Yamiko reeled in surprise. “Me?! Work together with a little hobbit like you who fucked a demon? What could you possibly offer me that I don’t already have?!” The sadistic idol demanded. I have spotlights, for one. And I’m not blinded by lust for that guy like you are. If you die, I die too. So how about we just put all this crap aside and work together for once?! Haruko yelled into Yamiko’s mind. This sudden outburst made Yamiko grin. “Oooo...I’m starting to see cracks in that annoying nice facade of yours. Fine, I’ll work with you only for a few minutes...on one condition.” What’s tha- “I get to play with Lance when we’re done! Deal?” ...deal.
Lance walked towards, Yamiko, summoning a long spear with a bone spearhead at the tip. He drew his arm back to throw it for her torso, but the ground began to shake beneath him. He jumped just in time to avoid the arms lunging from the ground. “Have you run out of tricks? This is why a knave’s tactics will never fell a man of justice!” Gripping the spear in both hands, he plunged, stabbing the spear through the earth and into the head of the one grasping below. His glorious, shining smile vanished when he found the inside of the head hollow. Barbs sprung out of the spearhead, trapping it inside.
Cold pain and warm blood met in the back of his knee, he let out a choked yelp. His leg wobbled. The amateur swordsman, the one who couldn’t even fight Clover of all people. She had done this to him. “Your sword is too great to be worthy of you! I shall remove your hand and pry it from your fingers, so it may rest in the collection of somebody more worthy!” A broad sword with a hilt heavily decorated with interlace designs appeared in his hand. Before he could swing it back at her, Jose’s fist rang his skull.
Lance went sprawling on the road, bouncing and rolling a few times. His dented helmet vanished, showing blood soaking into his blonde hair as he stood. He put decidedly less weight on the leg Rin had cut. He glared for a long moment, cycling through weapons, bows, swords, spears, maces, and more alien weapons appearing and vanishing in his hands as he chose. “...what makes you rebel against the supreme leader? Why do you choose to struggle instead of bending the knee as you should? I just cannot understand the evil, and I suppose I never will. I can only discourage them. Your heads shall be displayed until not a scrap of flesh remains on them!”
The sword that Arthur grabbed rapidly shout out of the ice wall and began to fly skyward. If Arthur decided to hold on, it would try to shake him off by trying to whip him into the ceiling. If Artur let go, it would swing around and try to slice directly for the ice mage’s throat. Meanwhile, the rubble where Yamiko had stood erupted into a cloud of mist, with a strange musical track echoing through the air.
The figure that now stood on top of the rubble didn’t appear to be Yamiko, nor Haruko. She had long pink hair with silver stripe running along the right side. Her eyes were a deep shade of purple, and she wore a long black and red dress that appeared to be Haruko’s gem girl form design with Yamiko’s coloration. The black boots on her feet went up to her knees, and were interlaced with pink laces. The headset on top of her head shone with a sky blue light on the side, a smile appearing on the woman’s face.
“This is new...maybe this won’t be so bad after all!” She turned her attention toward Lance, who glared at the new challenger. “Another new form?! No matter...for you will all look the same when you’re decomposed in the ocean!” And with that, Lance grabs the axe that had previously made the geyser of hot water and throws it directly at the new figure. A red spotlight suddenly appeared directly above her, allowing the newcomer to push off the ground and dash with incredible speed past the axe, the weapon into the ruble and creating a geyser that smashed the rocks beneath. The figure skidded to a stop several meters away from Lance.
“...something is different about you. You’re not hesitating like your first form, yet not reckless like that witch. Who are you?!” Lance demands. The woman places her hand under her chin to think. “Hm...well, I guess you could say I’m both of them. Haruko and Yamiko’s minds working together…” A visible expression of disgust could be seen on her face. Evidently Yamiko and Haruko still hated the idea. “As for my name...hm...how about...Opal Scream? The best of both sides!” The figure seemed to like the name it had given itself. Lance readied his Excalibur and shield to fight this new opponent. “Your name may change, but you are still the same witch whom I will send to the deepest pits of Hell!" Lance’s eyes burned with determination. He couldn’t fail...not now. World peace hinged on his brother completing the project and taking over...wresting control over these selfish animals. He couldn’t let it all crumble now to some invaders! Excalibur burned with a golden aura as he infuses more magic energy into it. “HAVE AT THEE!” Lance roared as he dug his uninjured leg into the ground and unleashed a deafening boom across the cavern, most human eyes not being able to perceive the speed he lunged at Opal Scream with. A brilliant golden spark shot out when he smashed his sword into Opal Scream, who had a deep purple blade raised to block the downward swing.
“...you’re not a legendary warrior, are you? The real Excalibur should have carved through this magical construct.” Opal Scream observed. Reaching out her other palm, she summons a large purple hammer that smashes straight down onto the guard of Excalibur, smashing the sword to pieces. Chunks of metal fell onto the ground as Lance leaped away from her, summoning another spear into his hands, this one a deep red. “I thought it was weird how you seemed to have all these legendary weapons...yet you didn’t seem that old. So I figured...maybe this guy is bullshitting? Perhaps these are all replicas of legendary weapons, and you just know a really good enchanter.” One look at Lance’s furious expression told Scream all she needed to know. Her smile grew as she cocked her head to the side in a Yamiko fashion. “I am right, aren’t I?” She asked. Lance was, for once during the entire battle, speechless. Opal Scream took advantage of the opportunity and summoned a blue spotlight above Lance’s head that would slow down anyone within its light. She then began skating around Lance at blinding speeds, summoning purple knives in precise locations aimed directly for the gaps in Lance’s armor as she skated past. “Everyone, attack already! Overwhelm this guy and his fake weapons!” Scream called out to them as Lance used his shield to parry the knives he could spot, though the sheer speed she was attacking from made it difficult to pinpoint where they were coming from. The blue spotlight appeared to be slowing down his movements considerably.

“Sir?” The receptionist asked Sid, who was still staring at the person being wheeled down the hallway. The kickmaster quickly snaps out of his shock and wheels around to talk to her again. “Uh, yeah! What’s up?” He asks. The receptionist looked at him with suspicion, pressing a small red button under her desk. “I’m afraid I don’t have anyone listed as a new hire. Perhaps you should go seek confirmation from the sup-” Before she could finish her sentence, Sid bolted down the hallway and began turning down corridors indiscriminately. He just needed to gather as much information as possible, and that receptionist lady knew he was lying! At the front of the facility, the receptionist noticed the backup she called had finally arrived. The strange cybernetic girl stared down the hallway, and took off toward the direction Sid ran, using her sensors to find where his boots covered in dirt had created a trail.

Rin rolled on the ground after slicing Lance’s leg. She released her sword, bleed pouring from her gums out of the effort. She felt her entire body like an open wound, or a bruise. Yet she was satisfied, as she saw when Jose clocked the Armored Villain on the head. The Novice Warrior smiled, looking up and trying to sense her brother’s ki, that still burned beneath them. Thankfully it seemed he was alright, but she wasn’t, breathing heavily and gasping at every little movement. “Note to self: Improve defense” She made a mental annotation before falling unconscious.
-Who the fuck are ya?- Gen asked, his voice having a faint metallic distortion, coming from behind his helmet. -Really, I don’t fuckin’ know what the fuck are ya talkin’ about, ya flamingo fucker!- As Cell gathered her power, the Gainen Warrior was standing perplexed in front of Dan, who blurted a series of lines Gen didn’t understand. He then proceeded to listen to Huntsman. His surprised turned into shock when the Lovecraftian Being explained the mess Dan caused during his “fall”. Gen, still too focused on Dan and Huntsman didn’t listen to Cell’s rambling. He barely managed to utter the question. -Are ya a fuckin’ stalker?- To Dan, before the force projected by the Abhorrent Experiment reached him. Suddenly his arms stuck to the side of his chest and his legs stuck together, almost as if his whole armor was suddenly magnetized.
-What…- Gen started saying. -...the fuck…- He struggled to talk. -...is happenin’?- The pressure was pushing the plates of his armor inward, pressing on his body and constricting him. Cracks started to appear on the armor, bleeding golden liquid from each of them. -C’mon, I don’t want to fuckin’ die.- He whispered, feeling his lungs being pressed, pushing the oxygen out. But suddenly he managed to breath again, he felt the pressure fading and flexed his whole body, summoning the power of the Medal to power-up. Energy coiled around his limbs and upon reaching his hand and feet a blast of golden light shattered the psychic grip on his body. The Former Delinquent fell on the floor, landing on one knee, gasping for air.
His armor was full of cracks, part of his body were visible underneath it, most noticeably one of his eyes and part of his head, as a quarter of his helmet had been sundered by the pressure. -God-fuckin’-dammit.- He exclaimed between gasps. As Huntsman talked Gen looked at Cell with a mixture of determination and sadness. He stood up and nodded to him, turning to Chase. -I don’t know ya, but we need to take care of this…- He scanned the area with a quick glance and added. - I think I’ve enough juice for one fuckin’ hit.- His armor kept slowly crumbling as he talked. -I’ll knock her the fuck up and ya finish her mid-air, get it?- And with that said, trusting that Chase, who looked pretty hardcore to him, would be able to follow up.
Gen gathered his Ki and tensed up his body, his muscles coiling like springs. He dashed forward, another booming sound, like before, evidence that he had broken the sound barrier, came out from his body, the effects regulated by his Ki to avoid hurting the others. His step-in into Cell’s range cracked the floor beneath him, his armored boot exploding into dust as he did. The radiance of killing intent glowed on his exposed eye, burning with golden-reddish light. Gen wasn’t a killer, but after all his experiences he knew that to survive in the Hidden World he needed to be at least ruthless enough to protect himself and his loved ones, because he wasn’t strong enough to win fights without putting his enemy at risk. -HERE’S YER FUCKIN’ DESSERT BITCH!- His closed fist flew towards Cell’s chin, aiming to smash itself against it, while it was covered with radiant golden energy and a powerful roar was coming out of it.
ROARING THUNDER UPPERCUT!

Jose didn't need the new Haruko, or whatever her new name is, to say anything once he sees the blue spotlight. He quickly rushes forward and charges at his now vulnerable opponent. As he moves, his places his hand out, and in a fashion similar to Tony Stark's iron man suit from the movies, his earth armor slowly breaks into pieces and quickly fly towards him. The broken armor hits different areas of his body, and slowly morph around him until they begin to reform into their former shape. Now, once again protected by his suit, the bounty hunter leaps high into the air, straight towards the ceiling. He throws his hands up, and simultaneously a pillar grows from right underneath his body. The pillar continues to expand and eventually reaches the earth shaker's armored feet. With the help of his new platform, Jose is able to once again able to leap upwards. His expose face nearly smashes into the ceiling, yet at the last moment he twist his body around so that his feet would touch the concrete instead of his head. As his feet touch, he immediately begins to manipulate the earth around him to build pressure around him. The ceiling gradually begins to shake as cracks start to form all around the bounty hunter.
Meanwhile, he slowly closes and tighten his right hand into a strong fist. He takes a moment to breath before he releases the Ki within his body. As the reddish aura starts to appear all around the earth shaker, he forces the emerging Ki to concentrate around his right fist. In a few moments, Jose's hand appears to be on fire and glowing brighter then his previous blow. He looks up to view Lance's position. Without wasting anymore time, he launches himself down onto his foe with the assistance of the build up pressure of the ceiling. As his feet bounce off the ceiling, the concrete around his immediate area erupt into thousands of pieces and a big buff of smoke scatters down, serving as a momentary smokescreen to the bounty hunter's descent. He prepares to to crash down on his foe with the full weight of his body, earth suit, and momentum all behind his Ki-Enchance punch. Ideally, Jose is aiming to strike at the top of Lance's head.
Chase didn't reply to Gen as he went over his plan. For a brief moment the soulless man question whether or not he should actually bother to kill this thing. if anything, he wouldn't mind letting this mess of a personality free and going on a rampage. As far as he is concern, there are plenty of people who deserve to die, and there happens to be a lot of them on this island. Yet again, he doubts anyone here would really be okay with letting this tiny abomination loose. And there could be a risk that she could end up killing them. He thinks for a moment to himself as he sees Gen throwing the uppercut of the century, and decides he should just finish her off immediately, since he imagines she will most likely die a painful death otherwise. Though he personally didn't care if she suffers a more or less painful death, he did care enough about his friend, and huntsman would appreciate if he an kill her as quickly as possible.
Once whatever remains of her body is launch into the air, Chase quickly leaps up after her, and actives his Soul OverDrive mode for a brief second as he plans to incarnate her into a pile of ashes with one vertical swing, which will also unleash a column of flames that would be able to torch a small portion of the surface of the concrete ceiling way above their group's head into a dark black coloration similar to coal. As he swings his sword, he could suddenly feel a strange sensation vibrate throughout his body, emitting from his forearm, which quickly overwhelms his body. -NO! NO! NO! NOT THIS AGAIN!- Chase screams internally and starts to panics as he could feel the Mark of Chaos taking control of his body. -I DON'T UNDERSTAND, WHY NOW?!- He wanted to yell at the top of his lungs but couldn't. For everyone else watching the soulless man at the moment, they wouldn't be able to tell anything is wrong with him unless they could either read his mind, or be spiritual aware enough to view the soul of another person.
Chase finishes his swing, yet the fire that his blade unleashes isn't red like usually, but instead a deep emerald green, which radiates out of the sword with far more destructive force then the soulless man originally intended. Thankfully, the emerging flames were heading in a direction away from anyone else in his team, or anyone from the other team. The column of flames quickly transform into a raging maelstrom that smashes into the upper ceiling, burning through the concrete above like like a hot knife through butter. The hellish green flames incinerates any remaining concrete separating it from the air above with unrelenting fury. The flames continue to grow until they finally emerge into the outside world. From outside the compound, it would have appear if a small scale volcanic eruption is occurring. Nothing so grand that it would threaten the structure of the concrete hell they are currently occupying, but a sight that could probably be viewed from anywhere on the small island.
The flames continue to climb up to the clouds, yet began to fade well before they were anywhere near the blue sky above. Chase, who is no longer in control of his body, quickly reaches into the side of his armor, which shifts momentary back into his regular clothing, before quickly transforming back into their armor form, so that he can pull out a small shard. The shard glows for a split second, but it's glow is completely overwhelm by the bright light produce by the green flames dancing around the edge of Chase's sword. In fact, due to his Soul Overdrive, the gesture of pulling out his shard will most likely not be noticeable by his fellow teammates, as he is currently moving at incredible speeds, even by supernatural standards.
"This will definitely be a nice addition to my collection," said a voice inside his mind, which he quickly recognizes.
As soon as the voice finished speaking, Chase suddenly regains control of himself, and the green flames disappear from the world just as quickly as they were summon. The soulless man drops onto the floor. Landing on his hands and knees. While sweating uncontrollably, he manages to pull his helmet off and throws it against the wall in one fluid motion as he is having trouble breathing. His hair is drench in sweat, making it appear Chase has just finish the hardest workout of a lifetime.

Arthur's plan really wasn't panning out the way he'd imagined it. Although the upward trajectory did give him a loge seat view of Haruko's new form. It was... Worrying? Impressive? Worryingly impressive? Impressively worrying? In any case, at least she appeared more sane and less bloodthirsty so she wouldn't be hurting her allies. Good thing, too, since she seemed quite a bit more powerful.
He didn't spend too much time watching her play around with Lance. He created a sudden ice wall to stop the sword then let go of it as it got stuck. It didn't stay stuck long though, but it was long enough for Arthur to get ready. He pointed his palm towards it and a magic circle appeared in front of him, covered in strange symbols. "Frost beam!" A beam of energy shot out of the circle. It was cold, so cold the very air around it turned to ice. When it got close to the sword the tip exploded, covering the entire area in ice. Surely it would be enough to trap the sword, if not destroy it completely.
"And now, one for Lance!" He turned, arm still extended. However, he saw Jose plummeting toward Lance. That was yet another idea down the drain because he couldn't risk hurting an ally. He considered his next move, when a sudden eruption of green flames distracted him. Were the guys underground having problems? He wanted to go down there and check, but he wasn't good with fire. He'd only get in their way, so he just hoped they were doing okay.
When he finally landed, he rushed over to help Jose and Yamiko/Haruko. He aimed a knee at Lance's solar plexus before creating two ice swords and aiming to cut off his arms. You can't swing around legendary weapons, fake or otherwise, if you don't have anything to swing them with!

Cell only weakly held out her arms as Gen threw his final punch. A tiny telekinetic shove went out, not enough to topple a toddler. It did nothing to stop the fist that met her jaw. She was thrown up, utterly limp as her eyes rolled back in her head. She had a last few fleeting thoughts, swallowed up in unconsciousness. She didn't feel it when the flames came rushing up and turned her into smoke. Not even ash fell from the hateful pillar. The flames faded, leaving nothing but empty air and smouldering concrete. The hair on the back of Dan's neck stood up. He was glad he hadn't done that before in this enclosed space. He had remembered that power from fighting him before, but it was a lot scarier when he wasn't powered up.
He was distracted from his thoughts of a rematch with Chase by remembering Gen needed a response. "A stalker!? Are you- I was called to that island to help your master! Do you even... can you comprehend the feeling of watching the person you just tried so hard to save twice die again? Knowing that you caused a disaster that could have wrecked the world!? I won't justify anything I did. I can't justify anything I did. But I am not taking his shit or yours today!" Dan pointed at Huntsman, lowering his finger in confusion. Huntsman looked strange. His inhuman face was turned in a smile, and not a disturbing one. The kind of disarming grin a panting dog makes. He watched the last wisps of smoke vanish into the air. "Thanks, Chase. I saw her face. She didn't feel a thing. One last stop and I'll help you guys climb out."
He walked down one of the hallways branching off from this central room. He found what he expected at the end. The last few remaining technicians, hiding desperately from the monster they had contained. There was nothing in the room except a counter with a sink and a single operating bed, complete with straps for holding down a struggling patient. Huntsman ignored the people for a second, even as they stared. He tapped the metal prominent on the straps. As he expected. It was charmed with whatever people made anti-power cuffs with. This must be in case she woke up while they tore away what she was and replaced it with something more controllable. Something tamed. "Are... are you here to save us?" One of the technicians gingerly approached him. "No."
Huntsman emerged from the room, covered in a new layer of blood. "Yeah, that was about what I expected. Come on, follow me. You can make out later. I don't mind watching, but this isn't the time. Huntsman's spine stretched and his body thinned out, folding and changing until he was like a slimy scarlet leech with empty coat sleeves for a head and limbs. He used these suction cups to climb up the concrete wall, stabbing javelins of bone in behind him as he rose. The result was a makeshift mountain climbing wall, with steady hand and footholds stuck into the surface. Huntsman wiggled out onto the surface level, raising his head to look for the others. He had used up most of his bone climbing. He wasn't getting solid limbs back.

Opal Scream’s knives sparked as they scraped across Lance’s shield, flaking tiny pieces of the surface off. He came out of her attack unharmed, but he was slowed by the spotlight. “Your attacks mean nothing! I will fight until you all have returned to Hell!” Lance roared as he blocked more of the knives targeted at him. Strangely...his new opponent had grown further away from him, reducing her accuracy. Why was she running away? His answer came when he looked up to see Jose barreling down at him like a bullet. The knives lodged in his arms slowed his movement down enough to where Jose’s meteoric punch landed square on Lance’s forehead.
The silver knight saw nothing but white light as he tumbled to the ground, using his right hand to break his fall. Blood began to seep out of a small crack in Lance’s cranium, but the knight continued to stand against the group. “THAT’S IT! YOU ARE ALL GOING TO HELL NOW!” Lance yelled with blood spraying out of his mouth. A portal opened up next to his right arm and a violent crackling of electricity could be heard as a massive blue spear of lightning was drawn out. The incredible amount of electricity seemed to not conduct with Lance’s armor, allowing the silver knight to aim it directly at the ground. “FEEL THE WRATH...OF ZEUS!” Lance roared, bringing his arm down to crash the lightning bolt into the ground below. Lance could normally survive this explosion if his armor was undamaged...but the chips caused by battle and his missing helmet would make this a suicidal move.
However, before it could reach the ground, Arthur’s sword slashed straight through his right arm. The strike was aimed directly at the joint where the armor was weakest, slicing straight through and causing both the arm and lightning bolt to go careening upward while Lance wailed in pain. Opal Scream saw the massive amount of energy and frowned at the projectile. “Everyone, take cover!” She exclaimed, forming a deep purple trident that she shot directly at Lance’s arm. The limb was quickly pierced and rocketed toward the expensive concrete ceiling far above the ground...and smashed directly into the structure. The lightning bolt glowed a bright white light that would blind nearly the entire cavern for several seconds while electricity exploded into the roof above, causing 90 meters of the concrete roof to shatter and begin collapsing down onto the group below. Sections of the roof above the complex Sid was in managed to remain intact, but ¾ of the entire roof was either vaporized or turned into smaller chunks that began to rain down upon everyone, allowing natural light to flood into the cavern. Opal Scream saw the incoming concrete boulders and formed 4 deep purple diagonal triangles around the group, forming a pyramid that was soon battered by the weight of the concrete boulders. “Aaaaagh...I won’t lose when we are so close!” Opal Scream yelled, putting further mana into the pyramid to reinforce it until all the concrete boulders had rolled off the structure and piled along the remaining left wall, or rolled into the sea from the mostly destroyed right wall. Once the mayhem had calmed down, Opal scream made the pyramid vanished and walked over with exhaustion to Lance, who was collapsed on the ground face-up.
“You...you think you the…” Lance coughed up a glob of blood onto the ground beside his head. “...the heros here? You...the ones who invaded my home...and attacked my family…?” Lance’s eyes seared with rage at Opal Scream. A wide grin spread across the combined woman’s face. “Nah, I don’t really see myself as a hero. I’m made up of a woman who’s only here for fun and money, and a psychopath who wants to hear you scream like a girl. Who else is here; a shapeshifter only here for money, a sociopath who absorbs souls, how about a man that spawned hundreds of illegitimate demon kids? No...you and your sisters didn’t get beat by heros.”
Opal Scream raised her arm up, and a titanic purple hammer with a head the size of Lance’s entire body was formed directly above her. The weight of the hammer was several tons, concentrated directly at the striking point. “You got beat by someone with a bigger wallet than you!” And with that, Yamiko brought the hammer down onto Lance’s body. A sickening crack could be heard upon impact, the sound of Lance’s bones shattering from under his silver armor when the hammer smashed him into a small crater in the concrete floor. Opal Scream continued to smash him further into the dirt under the concrete, aiming for just his armor that was shattering beneath the weight. After the 5th swing, she positions the hammer further up and strikes Lance’s head directly, killing the silver knight for good.
Now breathing heavily from the mana exertion, Opal Scream looked down at the pile of broken armor and gore that now inhabited the crater. “Hah...I got him…” Was all she could say before falling backward and bursting into a small ray of light, normal Haruko hitting the ground unconscious. The entire area now looked like a warzone...with most of the right wall having fallen into the sea and the majority of the roof having collapsed into the cavern.

At the palace
Joseph stares directly out the window overlooking the wall, his eyes fixated upon the crumbling concrete that fall falling into the ocean below. His normal aloof demeanor was now replaced by seriousness. “...he’s dead, isn’t he?” He asked the woman across the room. “Yes. His vital signs have flatlined.” The woman stated in a deadpan voice. The supreme leader shook his head in disappointment and grabbed a strange-looking mace at his side. “Looks like I should greet these guests personally, right?” He said back in his aloof manner, calmly walking up to the roof of the building. A strange frown of determination was now on his face as he walked up the steps.

Sid found himself in a dead end, in front of him a square room with no windows and stark white lights. A figure stood in the middle of the room, surrounded by machinery. He was broader than the front of a semi truck, inhumanly muscular, losing all form under a layer of lumpy bulk. His nudity allowed Sid to see that the entire front of his body was marred with a huge y-shaped scar down his chest, down through a featureless groin. His face was even further gone than the monster under the blanket Sid had seen earlier. It seemed overcome with cancerous growths to the point it wasn’t certain if he even had a mouth, only his glassy eye standing out. Sid only got this unobstructed view for a few moments, as the machines around were humming to life. Piece after piece of armor was held up to the misshapen body and fused into place, never to come off. Padding under plate, the whole body was covered with blue bit by bit. A shiny black helmet topped it off, smooth but for the tubes that stuck like tentacles from the mouth, only one eye visible as a vibrant green disk.
“Whoa...what is that dude?!” Sid asked out loud when he watched the armor begin to cover the strange deformed man inside the room. Before he could go inside to get a closer look though, the strange gothic cybernetic girl from the casino burst out from around the corner and held her large cannon up to Sid. “Intruder identified. Surrender, or you will be eliminated.” She stated robotically. “Oh come on...you again? What the hell is this?!” Sid asked with surprise. The strange girl just stared at him. “Not gonna talk? Fine...see ya!” Gripping a small medal in his pocket, Sid soon grows a pair of obsidian black boots with tiny red lava-like veins running along the side. He kicks the air directly in front of him and causes an explosion in the air that knocked the gothic girl back a few feet. Sid then kicks off the ground the begins sprinting back toward the exit, somehow finding a window and bursting through to see that the cavern was now lit up with sunlight. He skids to a stop close to the group.
“What the hell did I miss?! Ok, first off; there is an angry chick after me, so we don’t have much time. Oh right, the scroll thing.” Sid remembered that their client said to activate the scroll when they needed evacuation. He infused a small amount of ki energy into the parchment and soon, the paper disappeared in a small flash of fire. He let out a small sigh of relief, looking back to see that the girl hadn’t followed him out just yet. Sid then notices Haruko laying on the ground and jogs over, happy to find that she was still breathing. “So uh...everyone still accounted for?” He asked.

Gen performed a three point landing as Cell was destroyed above him. What remained of his armor exudes blasts of a vapor-like substance from beneath and then proceeded to crack from the pressure of said jets of gas and fell off, vanishing into glittering golden particles that climbed up, like sparks coming out a bonfire. The Former Spirit Boxer slowly stood up looking at the still clenched fist he used to punch Cell. There was a hint of sadness on his eyes, but also a sparkle that he had lacked for months. <I hope that our association brings more fights like this kiddo> Battle’s voice resonated inside his head, to which Gen just replied nodding with his head. He still didn’t fully trust the Gainen, but he knew that if he wanted to rescue Reiji and get to the bottom of whatever was happening with the Medals he would need the power to do so. But Gen was pulled out his introspection about the recent fight by Dan’s rant. The Gainen Warrior cocked his head to the side, looking at Dan with a mixture of confusion and amusement. -I don’t have the faintest fuckin’ idea what ya’re talking about.-
Gen turned away from Dan and looked at the collapsed Chase. He moved closer, carefully, placing his hand on the Soul Knight’s shoulder. -Ya okay man?- The Former Spirit Boxer looks up, seeing the trail of destruction left by Chase’s last attack and as he focuses back on the downed warrior he whistles with admiration. -That was one hell of an attack.- Gen crouches down, getting to Chase’s eye level. -Do ya need help to get up?- He asked, offering his hand and shoulder to lift the Soul Knight up. While he did this the Former Spirit Boxer had the nagging feeling that somebody else needed his help. As this thought passed through his head Huntsman returned, coated in deep crimson. When he started climbing Gen realized what he forgot and exclaimed. -RIN!- Climbing up behind Huntsman as soon as he could. His newly acquired power was great, but had some limitations he didn’t have before, as lacking the ability to properly sense Ki unless he was on his armored form. But his senses were a bit better, not inhumanly so, just keener. He didn’t listen any combat above, so surely the fight had ended.
Rin, who was out cold, slowly got back up, her eyes flickering a couple of times before opening. She looked around while trying to sit down, her body aching everywhere. More than once she winced in pain as her sore muscles pulled as he put any strength on them. She tiredly looked around, dawning on her how lucky she was. The whole place was like a warzone, chunks of burnt debris littering the once cleared battlefield, a bit of smoke obscured the area and a large chunks of the ceiling were torn open exposing the sky far above it. She was lucky, because the inertia of her last attack took her far enough to avoid the falling rubble. -Back.- She whispered to her weapon, that once again became a bracelet on her arm. She started getting up, grabbing her right arm while weakly walking across the large scorched boulders, trying to find the rest of the group and also find out what happened to Gen.
